        Connection between Finland Tea Culture Style and Chinese tea

        Stability and solution of two functional equations in unital algebras

        In this paper, we consider two functional equations: \begin{align}\label{1} &h(\mathcal{F}(x,y,z)+2x+y+z)+h(xy+z)+yh(x)+yh(z)\nonumber\\ &=h (\mathcal{F}(x,y,z)+2x+y)+h(xy)+yh(x+z)+2h(z), \end{align} \begin{align}\label{12} &h(\mathcal{F}(x,y,z)-y+z+2e)+2h(x+y)+h(xy+z)+yh(x)+yh(z)\nonumber\\ &=h(\mathcal{F}(x,y,z)-y+2e)+2h(x+y+z)+h(xy)+yh(x+z), \end{align} without any regularity assumption for all $x,y,z$ in a unital algebra $A$, where $\mathcal{F}:A^3\rightarrow A$ is defined by \begin{align*} \mathcal{F}(x,y,z):=h(x+y+z)-h(x+y)-h(z) \end{align*} for all $x,y,z\in A$. Also, we find general solutions of these equations in unital algebras. Finally, we prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of \eqref{1} and \eqref{12} in unital Banach algebras.

        A Refinement of the Jensen-Simic-Mercer Inequality with Applications to Entropy

        The Jensen, Simic and Mercer inequalities are very important inequalities in theory of inequalities and some results are devoted to this inequalities. In this paper, firstly, we establish extension of Jensen-Simic-Mercer inequality. After that, we investigate bounds for Shannon’s entropy of a probability distribution. Finally, We give some new applications in analysis.

        Prolonging Network Lifetime by Optimizing Actuators Deployment with Probabilistic Mutation Multi-layer Particle Swarm Optimization

        In wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSANs), the network lifetime is an important criterion to measure the performance of the WSAN system. Generally, the network lifetime is mainly affected by the energy of sensors. However, the energy of sensors is limited, and the batteries of sensors cannot be replaced and charged. So, it is crucial to make energy consumption efficient. WSAN introduces multiple actuators that can be regarded as multiple collectors to gather data from their respective surrounding sensors. But how to deploy actuators to reduce the energy consumption of sensors and increase the manageability of the network is an important challenge. This research optimizes actuators deployment by a proposed probabilistic mutation multi-layer particle swarm optimization algorithm to maximize the coverage of actuators to sensors and reduce the energy consumption of sensors. Simulation results show that this method is effective for improving the coverage rate and reducing the energy consumption.

        Multilayer-coated hydrogel membranes with comprehensive fouling resistance and stability for wastewater treatment

        Organic fouling was one of the most fatal weakness for membranes applied in water treatment. Aiming atovercoming the defect of liable to contamination and achieving efficient circulation and long-term stableoperation, it was reported a kind of multilayer-loaded hydrogels membranes with superior antifoulingproperty. Hydrogel coating mixture were coated onto PES substrate layer by layer and then crosslinkedby ambient free radical blending polymerization reaction endowing the membrane with interpenetratingnetwork structure and super hydrophilic surface. The FT-IR, FESEM, and AFM were used to characterthe structure and morphology of obtained membranes. Dynamic contact Angle, BET and membraneperformance evaluation instrument were used to evaluate the membrane performance. Compared withquantitative single layer-coated membrane, the four layers-coated hydrogel membrane exhibited moreexcellent and stable performance in terms of flux, rejection and fouling resistance. In particular, the waterflux of the four layers-coated hydrogel membrane increased by about 25%. When 0.5 g/L BSA was selectedas simulated protein contamination liquid, flux recovery rate (FRR) of four layers-coated hydrogel membraneswas up to 86.33%, indicating excellent long-term tolerance and resistance to proteins. It must bepointed out that four layers were the maximum loading number of the ambient self-crosslinking hydrogelCQAS casting solution within the limit air-cured time. On the whole, the multi-layer coated hydrogelmembranes showed practical application value in the field of water treatment.

        Residual Shear Capacity of Reinforced Concrete Beams after Fire Exposure

        The mechanical properties of concrete and steel are seriously degraded under high temperature, so that reinforced concrete (RC) members after fire may not be able to satisfy the prescribed performance. In this study, 27 full-scale RC beams were carried out shear tests to investigate the shear behaviour after fire. A total of 20 beams were subjected to fire on three sides in accordance with ISO 834 standard fire curve, and the remaining 7 beams (which were not subjected to fire) were employed as a reference. The influences of fire time, stirrup ratio, shear span ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, and preloading (40% loading level) were considered. The experimental results indicated that the shear failure mode of the RC specimens after fire exposure was similar to that of the reference specimens. Both the residual shear load bearing capacity and stiffness of the RC beams decreased after being subjected to fire. The loss of shear bearing capacity increased with the heating time. In addition, the ultimate load bearing capacity of specimens with stirrups subjected to the same fire exposure time decreased with an increasing shear span ratio.

        Effect of supplemental blue light intensity on the growth and quality of Chinese kale

        The infl uence of blue light on the growth and quality of vegetables is controversial, since both positive and negative eff ectshave been observed on diff erent varieties of vegetables and most research has been conducted with a combination of lightspectrums. In this work, we investigated the eff ects of supplemental blue light intensity on growth, nutritional quality, andhealth-promoting compounds of Chinese kale ( Brassica alboglabra Bailey) using only blue (460 nm) light-emitting diodes10 days before harvest in a greenhouse under ambient light conditions. Four blue-light treatments were conducted (0, 50,100, and 150 μmol m −2 s −1 , named T0, T50, T100, and T150, respectively) with 12 h (6:00–18:00) of light treatment perday. The growth of Chinese kale plants was improved by supplemental blue light. The fresh and dry weights of Chinesekale plants were signifi cantly higher under T50 and T100 than those in the other treatments. The content of chlorophyll band total chlorophyll increased signifi cantly under T50, and the content of carotenoids increased signifi cantly under T150. The contents of soluble sugars and free amino acids were signifi cantly increased under the blue light treatments. The nitratecontent decreased with increasing blue light intensity, while the anthocyanin content increased. The contents of vitamin Cin T50 and total phenolic compounds in T150 were signifi cantly higher than in T0. The fl avonoid contents were signifi canthigher in T50 and T150, and signifi cantly lower in T100. Our results show that blue light can infl uence the growth and qualityof Chinese kale and 50 μmol m −2 s −1 of supplemental blue light might be the most feasible light intensity for Chinesekale production.

        Static behavior of steel tubular structures considering local joint flexibility

        As a thin-walled structure, local joint flexibility (LJF) in a tubular structure is prominent, and it may produce significant effect on the static performance for the overall structure. This study presents a simplified analytical model to analyze the static behavior for a steel tubular structure with LJF. The presented model simplifies a tubular structure into a frame model consisted of beam elements with considering the LJFs at the connections between any two elements. Theoretical equations of the simplified analytical model are deduced. Through comparison with 3-D finite element results of two typical planar tubular structures consisted of T- and Y-joints respectively, the presented method is proved to be accurate. Furthermore, the effect of LJF on the overall performance of the two tubular structures (including the deflection and the internal forces) is also investigated, and it is found from analyses of internal forces and deformation that a rigid connection assumption in a frame model by using beam elements in finite element analysis can provide unsafe and inaccurate estimation.
