<P>The importance of monitoring the condition of skin is increasing as its relevance to health is becoming more well understood. Inappropriate humidity levels can cause atopic dermatitis or hair loss. However, conventional film substrates used in electronic skin monitoring devices cause accumulation of sweat or gas between the device and biological tissue, leading to negative effects in long-term humidity measurements. Thus, real-time measurements of skin humidity over long periods are difficult using conventional film devices. Here, a breathable nanomesh humidity sensor that can monitor skin humidity for a long time is developed by using biocompatible materials such as gold, poly(vinyl alcohol), and Parylene C. The sensor presents excellent gas and sweat permeability and precisely detects the humidity level of an object for a long time. This study demonstrates the successful real-time detection of the humidity level from human skin and also detects the relative humidity of a plant surface over a prolonged period. This sensor is expected to have wide applicability for cultivating delicate plants as well as to reveal correlations between skin humidity and disease for biomedical applications.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
Very Rapidly Progressive Shoulder Arthropathy with Complete Destruction of the Humeral Head

Milwaukee shoulder syndrome (MSS) is a rare disease in which joints are destroyed and occurs mainly in elderly women. We describe rapidly progressive MSS with complete destruction of the shoulder joint within 2 months. An 80-year-old woman visited the outpatient clinic with shoulder pain for 2 weeks. rotator cuff tear arthropathy was diagnosed, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs were prescribed. Two months later, her shoulder pain worsened without trauma. Shoulder swelling and tenderness, and arm lifting inability were observed. Complete humeral head disruption was observed by radiography. We diagnosed MSS based on the presence of serohematic and noninflammatory joint effusion, periarticular calcific deposits, and rapid joint destruction, and initiated conservative treatment. When initially treating elderly patients with shoulder arthropathy, it is advisable to perform short-term follow-up and to consider the possibility of crystal-induced arthropathy. <P>Metronidazole (MTDZ), the drug of choice for the treatment of protozoal infections such as luminal amebiasis, is highly susceptible to colonic metabolism, which may hinder its conversion from a colon-specific prodrug to an effective anti-amebic agent targeting the entire large intestine. Thus, in an attempt to control the colonic distribution of the drug, a polymeric colon-specific prodrug, MTDZ conjugated to dextran via a succinate linker (Dex-SA-MTDZ), was designed. Upon treatment with dextranase for 8 h, the degree of Dex-SA-MTDZ depolymerization (%) with a degree of substitution (mg of MTDZ bound in 100 mg of Dex-SA-MTDZ) of 7, 17, and 30 was 72, 38, and 8, respectively, while that of dextran was 85. Depolymerization of Dex-SA-MTDZ was found to be necessary for the release of MTDZ, because dextranase pretreatment ensures that de-esterification occurs between MTDZ and the dextran backbone. In parallel, Dex-SA-MTDZ with a degree of substitution of 17 was found not to release MTDZ upon incubation with the contents of the small intestine and stomach of rats, but it released MTDZ when incubated with rat cecal contents (including microbial dextranases). Moreover, Dex-SA-MTDZ exhibited prolonged release of MTDZ, which contrasts with drug release by small molecular colon-specific prodrugs, MTDZ sulfate and <I>N</I>-nicotinoyl-2-{2-(2-methyl-5-nitroimidazol-1-yl)ethyloxy}-<SMALL>D</SMALL>,<SMALL>L</SMALL>-glycine. These prodrugs were eliminated very rapidly, and no MTDZ was detected in the cecal contents. Consistent with these in vitro results, we found that oral gavage of Dex-SA-MTDZ delivered MTDZ (as MTDZ conjugated to [depolymerized] dextran) to the distal colon. However, upon oral gavage of the small molecular prodrugs, no prodrugs were detected in the distal colon. Collectively, these data suggest that dextran conjugation is a potential pharmaceutical strategy to control the colonic distribution of drugs susceptible to colonic microbial metabolism.</P>
혁신적인 기업들은 무엇이 다른가?-혁신기술의 채택정도가 높은 기업들의 특징을 중심으로-

본 연구는 4차 산업혁명 기술을 도입하고 이를 다른 기술이나 다른 산업분야에 적용하는 주체인 기업들이 어떠한 특성을 가지고 있는지에 주목한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 4차 산업혁명에 대한 이론적 논의와 중앙정부와 지방정부의 4차 산업혁명 관련 정책들을 개관한다. 이후 4차 산업혁명 관련 기업인식조사를 통해 4차 산업관련 기술을 도입한 제조업분야 기업들의 특성을 분석하고자 한다. 기술도입여부를 종속변수로 하는 로지스틱분석 결과를 보면 기업은 성장단계에서 새로운 기술을 채택할 가능성이 높으며, 특히 어느 정도 자동화의 기반의 갖추어진 기업에서 보다 새로운 기술을 채택할 가능성이 높았다. 일반적으로 중요하게 생각되어지는 입지적 요인, 4차 산업혁명의 중요성 인식이나 현재 규제체감도나 새로운 규제개선 등의 요인들은 통계적으로 유의미하지 못하였다. 4차 산업혁명 기술을 채택하는 기업에 대한 특징을 파악하기 위해서는 일반 제조업체와 4차 산업혁명과 관련성 있는 기업 등 좀 더 다양한 기업군을 대상으로 한 면밀한 분석이 필요하다. This study seeks to identify the characteristics of companies that introduce fourth industrial revolution technologies and are the main players who apply them to other technologies or other industries. To this end, first, the theoretical discussion of the fourth industrial revolution and the policies related to the fourth industrial revolution of the central and local governments are opened. In addition, the 4th Industrial Revolution-related corporate awareness survey analyzed the characteristics of manufacturing businesses that introduced fourth industrial technologies. Logistic analysis of whether technology is introduced or not as a dependent variable showed that companies are likely to adopt new technologies at the growth stage, especially those with a certain degree of automation foundation. Factors such as perceived importance of location, recognition of the importance of the fourth industrial revolution, or current regulatory sensitivity or new regulatory improvements were not statistically significant. To get a closer look at the characteristics of companies adopting the fourth industrial revolution technology, an analysis of more diverse business groups, including comparisons between general manufacturers and related companies is needed.

본 연구는 새로운 4차 산업혁명 시대에 대응하기 위한 규제혁신이 필요하다는 관점 하에서, 한국과 일본의 규제 샌드박스제도에 관하여 비교분석하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 영국에서 유래한 규제 샌드박스의 개념과 현황을 살펴보고, 한일 간 규제샌드박스 제도를 유연성과 신속성, 위험에의 대비, 장소기반석의 관점 등에서 비교분석하였다. 분석결과, 한국은 일본에 비해 특정 산업과 기술육성에 초점을 맞추고 부처별 해당 산업분야 관련 정책을 추진함으로써 신속하게 성과를 내고 있다는 점, 지역균형적인 관점에서 수도권을 제외한 지역 특화산업의 배분이 이루어지고 있다는 점, 규제특구와 규제샌드박스 외에 입법방식의 개선이나 규제입증책임의 전환 등 법제도적인 개선노력도 병행하고 있다는 점에서 특징적이었다. 반면 일본은 내각총리실에서 규제샌드박스를 전반적으로 운영하고 있어 다소 속도감은 떨어지는 반면, 국가특구전략제도와 병행하여 지역의 일자리나 지역 소요에 부응하는 방식으로 규제샌드박스를 운영하여 지역에 밀착하여 운용하고 있다는 점 등이 특징으로 나타났다. This study compared the Korea-Japan regulatory sandbox as a regulatory revolution in the fourth industrial revolution era. To this end, the concept and status of the regulatory sandboxes originated in the UK was examined, and the Korea-Japan regulatory sandbox system was compared and analyzed from the perspective of flexibility, speed, risk preparedness, and location-based perspective. Compared to Japan, Korea focuses on developing certain industries and technologies. Government ministries are rapidly producing results by organizing and implementing policies related to their respective industries. In addition, from a balanced perspective, regional specialization industries are being allocated except for the metropolitan area. Furthermore, it was characterized by efforts to improve the legal system, such as improving the legislative method or shifting the responsibility for regulatory verification, in addition to the special regulatory zones and regulatory sandboxes. On the other hand, Japan operates a regulatory sandbox in a cabinet minister"s office, which is a bit slow in speed, but in parallel with the national special zone strategy system, it operates a regulatory sandbox closely to the region in a way that meets local jobs or regional needs.
