Tuning wettability by controlling the layer charge and structure of organo-vermiculites
Fan Ding,Manglai Gao,Jie Wang,Tao Shen,Weili Zang 한국공업화학회 2018 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.57 No.-
Tunable wettability was studied on series of organo-vermiculites with different layer charge. Reduced-charge vermiculites (RCVts) were fabricated via one-step heating method, which constituted a high-middle charge system. Organo-vermiculites were prepared by four cationic surfactants and characterized by XRD, FT-IR and TG. The results indicated that organo monolayer has been formed between layers and resulted in a water repelling surface. The wettability of the organo-vermiculites was monitored by capillary rise experiments. Among those factors, layer charge took a decisive position in wettability alteration. These facts give an inspiration for regulating wettability of the high charge mineral surface.
Structural and dielectric properties in the (Ba1−xCax)(Ti0.95Zr0.05)O3 ceramics

Lead-free (Ba1-xCax)(Ti0.95Zr0.05)O3 (x = 0.05e0.40) (BCZT) ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction technique. XRD results show that the samples in the composition range of 0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.25 exhibit pure perovskite structures and undergo a polymorphic phase transitions from orthorhombic to tetragonal phase around room temperature. The biphasic structures are detected at x ≥ 0.30 and the dielectric peaks become broad and dielectric constants decrease with increasing Ca content. Ca replacement at Ba site leads to diffuseness, whereas Ca occupancy at Ti site leads to decrease of the Tc.
