        Self-Supported Bi2MoO6 Nanosheet Arrays as Advanced Integrated Electrodes for Li-Ion Batteries with Super High Capacity and Long Cycle Life

        Hierarchical Bi2MoO6 nanosheet arrays (BNAs) growing on three-dimensional (3D) Ni foam are synthesized by one-step template-free route. The obtained BNAs are used as binder-free integrated electrode for Li-ion batteries (LIBs) directly. The electrode exhibits a super high reversible discharge capacity of 2311.7 μAh·cm-2 (1741.4 mAhg-1), and an excellent cycle stability. The outstanding electrochemical properties are reasonable from the self-supported integrated electrode in which the electrolyte is easy to infiltrate active materials, electrons and ions are readily transported along the 3D conductive substrate and the stable electrode structure.

        Mathematical model and meshing analysis of internal meshing gear transmission with curve element

        A new internal meshing gear transmission with curve element is put forward in this paper. The mathematical principle of tooth profile generation is described based on conjugate curves theory. For a given spatial curve, the meshing equation and its conjugated spatial curve under the motion law were derived. Considering the equidistant kinematic method, general internal tooth profiles models were established by the conjugate-curve pair. Numerical example of the internal gear pair was developed according to gear parameters and gear solid models were established by MATLAB and UG software. Motion simulation result shows that the gear pair satisfies point contact condition and design requirements. Meshing analysis of tooth profiles using FEA method was carried out. Stress analysis results of tooth profiles with single point contact and two points contact were, respectively, obtained. The conclusions lay the foundation for multi-point contact generation and tooth profile design. Also, further studies on transmission characteristics and manufacturing technology of the new gear drive will be carried out.

        Numerical study on transient hydraulic excitation force characteristics of a water jet mixed-flow pump during rapid startup period

        Mixed-flow pumps have been widely used in water jet propulsion field. To ensure reliability and operation efficiency, it is necessary to investigate the characteristics of hydraulic excitation force during transient operations. In this paper, the radial force of a water jet mixed-flow pump during rapid startup period was investigated numerically based on improved delayed detached eddy simulation (IDDES) and siding mesh method, the external characteristics were verified by test results. The spatial-temporal evolution of radial force was analyzed. The radial force during rapid startup presents transient and delay phenomenon, which shows disparity compared with quasi-steady state. The flow analysis and blade strip analysis show inlet recirculation significantly affects the radial force’s evolution, the radial force is quite different from blade root to tip and the blade tip contributes most to the radial force delay phenomenon. By applying boundary vorticity flux (BVF) theory and separation vortex formation diagnosis, separation regions caused by the dissipation of inlet recirculation were effectively identified and the change trend is in line with the change of radial force, which explains how inlet recirculation results the delay of radial force on blade tip strip and the whole impeller blade.

        Shear strength of match-cast-free dry joint in precast girders

        Shear keys in precast concrete segmental bridges (PCSBs) are usually match-casting which is very labour intensive. In this research, an innovative match-casting-free construction was proposed by leaving small gap between the convex and the concave castellated shear keys in the joints of PCSBs. Specimen experiment, shear strength analysis and numerical simulation were conducted, investigating the loading performance of this new type of dry joints, the gap dry joints. Compared with matchcasting joint specimens, it has been found from experiment that shear capacity of gap joint specimens significantly decreased ranging from 17.75% to 42.43% due to only partially constrained and contacted in case of gap dry joints. Through numerical simulation, the effects of bottom contacting location, the heights of the gap and the shear key base were analyzed to investigate strength reduction and methods to enhance shear capacity of gap joint specimens. Numerical results proved that shear capacity of gap dry joints under full contact condition was higher than that under partial contact. In addition, left contact destroyed the integrity of shear keys, resulting in significant strength reduction. Larger shear key base remarkably increased shear capacity of the gap joint. Experimental tests indicated that AASHTO provision underestimated shear capacity of the match-casting dry joint specimens, while the numerical results for the gap dry joint showed that AASHTO provision underestimated shear capacity of full contact specimens, but overestimated that of left contact specimens.

      • Secukinumab demonstrates superior efficacy and faster response in clearing skin of Asian patients compared to ustekinumab: a subgroup analysis of the CLEAR study

        Background: Although secukinumab demonstrated superior efficacy to ustekinumab in patients with moderate-tosevere plaque psoriasis at 16 and 52 weeks in the global CLEAR study, subgroup analysis among Asian population has not been investigated so far. Objectives: We aimed to describe the efficacy and safety of secukinumab versus ustekinumab over 52 weeks in Asian patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in the CLEAR study. Methods: Patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis received either secukinumab 300mg or ustekinumab 45 or 90mg. Logistic regression analysis of PASI 75, PASI 90 and PASI 100 at week 16 and 52 using nonresponder imputation was conducted, P<0.05 was considered significant. Results: Sixty-two Asian patients were included in the subanalysis (23 secukinumab vs 39 ustekinumab). Secukinumab was superior to ustekinumab in achieving PASI 90 response at week 16. Superior efficacy was also observed for secukinumab vs ustekinumab with respect to PASI 75 and PASI 90 at week 52. Secukinumab exhibited a favorable safety profile similar to ustekinumab in an Asian population, and also consistent with the main trial results. Conclusion: Secukinumab provided superior efficacy over ustekinumab in clearing skin of Asian patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. These results are consistent with the core study results (NCT02074982).
