Arsenic poisoning in ground water is one of the most sensitive environmental pollutant causing serious pollution all over the world. Chronic arsenic exposure through drinking water to humans leads to major public health related issues. There have been very meagre studies which reported that, the plant constituents proved to exhibit protective effect from arsenicosis. Therefore, the present study aims to evaluate the protective efficacy of Coriandrum sativum seeds extract against sodium arsenite induced toxicity in Swiss albino mice. In the present study twenty-four male healthy Swiss albino mice (30 ± 5 g) were divided into four groups (n = 6), where the control group received normal diet and water; group II and group III treated with sodium arsenite (2 mg per kg body weight per day) for 2 and 4 weeks respectively. The group IV mice were administered with C.sativum seeds extract at the dose of 150 mg per kg body weight per day for 4 weeks upon sodium arsenite pretreated (2 mg/kg body weight for 4 weeks per day) mice. After the complete dose duration, all the treatment group animals were sacrificed same day for haematological, biochemical and histopathological study. In the arsenic treated mice, there were significant (p < 0.0001) changes in the serum levels of ALT, AST, ALP, urea, uric acid and creatinine as well as in the haematological parameters. In contrast, after the administration with C.sativum seeds extract upon arsenic pretreated mice, there was significant (p < 0.0001) improvement observed in the hepatic and renal biomarker parameters as well as haematological variables. In the arsenic intoxicated mice, after administration with C.sativum seeds extract there was significant (p < 0.0001) reduction in the arsenic concentration in blood, liver and kidney tissues as well as in the serum LPO levels. Furthermore, the histopathological study showed that, C.sativum seeds extract administrated group of mice significantly restored the liver and kidney at cellular level against arsenic induced toxicity. The entire study concludes that C.sativum seeds extract possesses the ameliorative effect against arsenic induced liver and kidney intoxication.

Objective: To correlate the genome-wide methylation signature of microRNA genes with dysregulated expression of selected candidate microRNA in tissue and serum samples of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and control using quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), and evaluation of EOC predictive value of candidate microRNA at an early stage. Methods: We performed Methylated DNA Immunoprecipitation coupled with NGS (MeDIP- NGS) sequencing of 6 EOC and 2 normal tissue samples of the ovary. Expression of selected microRNA from tissue (EOC=85, normal=30) and serum (EOC=50, normal=15) samples was evaluated using qRT-PCR. We conducted bioinformatics analysis to identify the candidate miRNA’s potential target and functional role. Results: MeDIP-NGS sequencing revealed hypermethylation of several microRNAsgene promoters. Three candidate microRNAs were selected (microRNA-34a, let-7f, and microRNA-31) from MeDIP-NGS data analysis based on log2FC and P-value. The relative expression level of microRNA-34a, let-7f, and microRNA-31 was found to be significantly reduced in early-stage EOC tissues and serum samples (p<0.0001). The receiver operating characteristic analysis of microRNA-34a, let-7f and miR-31 showed improved diagnostic value with area under curve(AUC) of 92.0 (p<0.0001), 87.9 (p<0.0001), and 85.6 (p<0.0001) and AUC of 82.7 (p<0.0001), 82.0 (p<0.0001), and 81.0 (p<0.0001) in stage III-IV and stage I-II EOC serum samples respectively. The integrated diagnostic performance of microRNA panel (microRNA-34a+let-7f+microRNA-31) in late-stage and early-stage serum samples was 95.5 and 96.9 respectively. Conclusion: Our data correlated hypermethylation-associated downregulation of microRNA in EOC. In addition, a combined microRNA panel from serum could predict the risk of EOC with greater AUC, sensitivity, and specificity.

Laminated plates with holes are often used in industrial applications such as aeronautics, automobiles, and marine. It is necessary to present a study of the combined effect of deformation theories and thickness variation for the laminated plate with a hole. This manuscript considers analysis theories named: Kirchhoff, layer-wise, and Reissner-Mindlin, to study their validity for different thickness aspect ratios under transverse compression loading. Studies are conducted on CFRP laminate (symmetric cross-ply and quasi-isotropic), and the performed numerical (FEM) analysis processes are validated through existing literature. Transverse shear, circumferential, radial, and radial-hoop stress variations with stress concentration factors are presented along the thickness and around the hole configurations (18 cases are covered) of the plate. Also, the resultant effects are discussed on in-plane, and out-of-plane stresses for laminates to specify the selection of design conditions (theory, thickness, model, and laminates). This research may provide engineers and researchers with various assessments and design insight for laminate structures with a hole.
A New Cell Modeling Method to Calculate the Mechanical Properties of 3D Braided Composites
Vivek Kumar Dhimole,Da Ea Lee,조종두 한국섬유공학회 2023 Fibers and polymers Vol.24 No.9
This study presents a novel approach to establish the modeling method of 3D braided composite. The technique can produce multi-unit cell models according to manufacturing conditions to capture accurate shapes. Based on modeling, the mechanical properties of 3D braided polymer composite are calculated by finite element analyses. Calculated mechanical properties found a good agreement with the literature by approximately a two percent deviation. The effects of braided parameters on mechanical behavior are also presented. Discussion results indicate that the presented model can be utilized to predict the mechanical properties of complex shape composites efficiently.
Thermal performance of functionally graded parabolic annular fins having constant weight
Vivek Kumar Gaba,Anil Kumar Tiwari,Shubhankar Bhowmick 대한기계학회 2014 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.28 No.10
The proposed work reports the performance of parabolic annular fins of constant weight made of functionally graded materials. Thework involves computation of temperature gradient, efficiency and effectiveness of such fins and compares the performances for differentfunctionally graded parabolic fin profiles obtained by varying grading parameters and profile parameters respectively keeping theweight of the fins constant. The functional grading of thermal conductivity is based on a power function of radial co-ordinate which consistsof parameters, namely grading parameters, varying which different grading combinations are studied. A general second order ordinarydifferential equation has been derived for all the profiles and material grading. The efficiency and effectiveness of the annular fins ofdifferent profile and grading combinations have been calculated and plotted and the results reveal the dependence of fin performance onprofile and grading parameter.

Energy harvesting prolongs the life of wireless sensor networks. Among all ambient sources of energy, solar energy is believed to be the most efficient in terms of energy density but fluctuates with time and location. The main objective of this study is to forecast solar energy for Energy Harvested Wireless Sensor Network (EHWSN) using the Facebook Prophet Library with and without a filter and to assess the model efficacy. The present study examined the models using National Renewal Energy Laboratory (NREL) one-minute sample data for June 2010 to 2016. The outliers were eliminated using a Hample filter with a standard deviation of 3 and a window size of 3. The forecast error was measured using the cross-validation feature of the Prophet Library. The Mean squared Error ( MSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE ) values for the Prophet model were 292.81, 14.56, 19.37, and 17.11, respectively, while they were 92.56, 14.86, 14.86, and 17.10, respectively, for the Prophet model based on the Hample Filter. MAPE was reduced by 18.60 %, while the rest of the metrics changed significantly. The Prophet and Hample–Prophet give the best result regarding RMSE and accuracy compared with previous work based on the Ensemble Approach.

While screening for nematicidal activity of bacterial origins, various pseudomonads strains were inhabited in tomato rhizosphere. One isolate designated as $PE_{10}$ was selected for studies on nematicidal properties and plant growth-promoting (PGP) activity and was identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa based on morphological features, biochemical and physiological tests, and carbohydrate utilization. To investigate nematicidal activity, Meloidogyne incognita juvenile mortality was determined using $PE_{10}$ culture filtrate. Inhibition of strain $PE_{10}$ against Fusarium oxysporum was observed using dual culture technique. Strain $PE_{10}$ showed good siderophore activity, HCN and IAA production abilities, and growth and development enhancement of tomato.
