Diversity-oriented synthesis of quinazoline derivatives using zirconium tetrakis(dodecylsulfate) [Zr(DS)4] as a reusable Lewis acid-surfactant-combined catalyst in tap water

        Hamid Reza Safaei,Mohsen Shekouhy,Shima Khademi,Vahid Rahmanian,Maryam Safaei 한국공업화학회 2014 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.20 No.5

A highly efficient and environmentally benign procedure for the synthesis of quinazoline derivatives via the condensation of carbonyl compounds with 2-aminobenzamide using zirconium tetrakis(dodecyl-sulfate) [Zr(DS)4] as a highly efficient, reusable Lewis acid-surfactant-combined catalyst is described. A broad range of substrates including aldehydes and ketones are successfully condensed with 2-aminobenzamide and all reactions are completed in short times and the products are obtained in good to excellent yields. The catalyst could be recycled and reused several times without any loss of efficiency. Moreover, presented procedure has been applied successfully for the synthesis of spiro-quinazolinones and fused ring-quinazolinone derivatives.

Sensory and Motor Behavior Evidences Supporting the Usefulness of Conditioned Medium from Dental Pulp-Derived Stem Cells in Spinal Cord Injury in Rats

        Farzaneh Dehghani,Reza Asadi-Golshan,Vahid Razban,Esmaeil Mirzaei,Abdolkarim Rahmanian,Sahar Khajeh,Zohreh Mostafavi-Pour 대한척추외과학회 2018 Asian Spine Journal Vol.12 No.5

Study Design: Experimental animal study. Purpose: This study aimed to assess effects of conditioned medium (CM) of dental pulp-derived stem cells loaded in collagen hydrogel on functional recovery following spinal cord injury (SCI). Overview of Literature: SCI affects sensory and motor functions, and behavioral recovery is the most essential purpose of therapeutic intervention. Recent studies have reported that CM from dental pulp-derived stem cells has therapeutic benefits. In addition, collagen hydrogel acts as a drug delivery system in SCI experiments. Methods: Stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHEDs) were cultured, and SHED-CM was harvested and concentrated. Collagen hydrogel containing SHED-CM was prepared. The rats were divided into five groups receiving laminectomy, compressive SCI with or without intraspinal injection of biomaterials (SHED-CM), and collagen hydrogel with or without SHED-CM. Basso, Beattie, and Bresnahan (BBB) scoring, inclined plane, cold allodynia, and beam walk tests were performed for 6 weeks to assess locomotor, motor, sensory, and sensory-motor performances, respectively. Results: Scores of the rats receiving SHED-CM loaded in collagen hydrogel were significantly better than those of the other injured groups at 1-week post-injury for BBB, 2 weeks for inclined plane, 2 weeks for cold allodynia, and 4 weeks for beam walk tests (p <0.05). The differences remained significant throughout the study. Conclusions: Intraspinal administration of SHED-CM loaded in collagen hydrogel leads to improved functional recovery and proposes a cell-free therapeutic approach for SCI.

A Systematic Review on Prevention and Treatment of Nipple Pain and Fissure: Are They Curable?

        Niazi, Azin,Rahimi, Vafa Baradaran,Soheili-Far, Sina,Askari, Nafiseh,Rahmanian-Devin, Pouria,Sanei-Far, Zahra,Sahebkar, Amirhossein,Rakhshandeh, Hassan,Askari, Vahid Reza KOREAN PHARMACOPUNCTURE INSTITUTE 2018 Journal of pharmacopuncture Vol.21 No.3

Averagely 80% to 90% of breastfeeding women experience the nipple pain and fissures. The important factor for successful breastfeeding is to treat this problem. This study has done as a review with the aim of analysis of the clinical trials in the field of the prevention and treatment of the nipple fissures and pain due to the importance of breastfeeding. For this purpose, the key words of sore, nipples, fissure, trauma, wound, prevention, treatment, therapeutics, therapy, clinical trial, breastfeeding and their Persian synonyms and all of their possible combinations were searched in the national databases: SID and Iran Medex and Magiran, and in the international databases: PubMed, Scopus, Medline, Science direct by May 2017. The Jadad criterion was used to assess the quality of the articles and the articles with a score of 3 or more were included in this study. Finally, 48 clinical trials were reviewed that 17 of them (sample size 1801) scored 3 or more based on the Jadad criterion. Seven articles were also in the non- drug treatment group (sample size 491) and 2 articles in the drug treatment group (sample size 337) and 8 articles in the herbal treatment group (sample size 973).The results show that menthol and warm water compress as well as teaching the correct breastfeeding methods are effective treatments to prevent and treat the nipple pain and fissures. Moreover, applying the herbal medicine for prevention and treatment of the issues raised from breastfeeding may have beneficial such as Aloe vera, Portulaca olearacea. However, more studies with a great methodology are necessary to obtain more accurate evidence.
