Prostate cancer in men is the major cause of cancer mortality and is the active area for the researchers to discover new drugs for prostate cancer. 5alpha-reductase inhibitors have been proved to inhibit the growth and development of prostate cancer, hence identifying the potential of such compounds is necessary to invent new drugs. Quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) modeling is a well-known in silico drug designing approach that relates the chemical structure of compounds with their biological activities. In the present work 2D QSAR models are built using machine learning techniques such as linear regression, SMO, simple logistic, decision tree j48 and random forest, from the functions available in Weka 3.7 version. The present in silico QSAR study will help to identify new bioactivities for the drug discovery of prostate cancer and also narrow down the time required for drug discovery process.

A series of nanocrystalline thin films of cadmium zinc sulphide(Cd1-xZnxS) solid solution were deposited on glass substrates usingspray pyrolysis. Cadmium chloride (CdCl2), zinc chloride (ZnCl2) andthiourea (NH2CSNH2) were used as the sources of Cd, Zn and Srespectively. The films were characterized using structural, morphologicaland optical techniques. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies show thatthe films of Cd1-xZnxS are polycrystalline and single phase having thewurtzite structure. The crystallites in the thin films of pure CdS possesspreferred crystallographic orientation along the <002> direction. Thepreferred orientation of crystallites in the Cd1-xZnxS films changes from<002> to <101> with increase in Zn concentration. The latticeparameters of Cd1-xZnxS decrease with increase in Zn concentration. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy(AFM) studies show that the surfaces of the films are smooth and areuniformly covered with nanoparticles. Energy dispersive analysis of xrays(EDAX) results reveal that the grown films have goodstoichiometry. Optical transmission spectra confirm the good qualityof the Cd1-xZnxS films.

Dentigerous cysts (also known as follicular cysts) are odontogenic cysts of developmental origin associated with the crown of unerupted or partially erupted or impacted teeth. Accumulation of fluid between the reduced enamel epithelium and the tooth crown is suggested as the possible etiopathogenesis of this particular cyst by most authors. However in addition to the developmental origin, few authors have suggested an inflammatory origin to the formation of dentigerous cyst. The dentigerous cysts are commonly associated with impacted canines and third molars. However, bilateral occurrence of the cyst is rare. Here, the authors report a case of dentigerous cyst involving bilaterally impacted mandibular canines in a non-syndromic 12 year old male patient which was surgically enucleated.

A layer of compressible, rotating, elastica-viscous fluid heated & soluted from below is considered in the presence of vertical magnetic field to include the effect of Hall currents. Dispersion relation governing the effect of viscoelasticity, salinity gradient, rotation, magnetic field and Hall currents is derived. For the case of stationary convection, the Rivlin-Erickson fluid behaves like an ordinary Newtonian fluid. The compressibility, stable solute gradient, rotation and magnetic field postpone the onset of thermosolutal instability whereas Hall currents are found to hasten the onset of thermosolutal instability in the absence of rotation. In the presence of rotation, Hall currents postpone/hasten the onset of instability depending upon the value of wavenumbers. Again, the dispersion relation is analyzed numerically & the results depicted graphically. The stable solute gradient and magnetic field (and corresponding Hall currents) introduce oscillatory modes in the system which were non-existent in their absence. The case of overstability is discussed & sufficient conditions for non-existence of overstability are derived.

In order to provide intelligent services in an indoor environment at furniture level, it is important to understand not only the physical attributes but also the semantic features of an interior space. Spatial similarity measurement is a comparison method conducted on top of a hierarchical graph representation to calculate numeric values considering quantified spatial features. Three consecutive tasks are required: indoor space modeling, user study acquiring spatial context, and spatial similarity calculation. To evaluate the effectiveness of the method, a comparison was made with the existing random sampling method. The findings surpassed the random sampling results in four experimental cases. Spatial similarity measurement is therefore capable of analyzing the spatial context with proposed similarity criteria and equations, and it also suggests the probability of local similarity of a functional space.
