Why Should the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking be Used to Assess Creativity?
Bonnie Cramond,Juanita Matthews-Morgan,E. Paul Torrance,Li Zuo 대한사고개발학회 1999 The International Journal of Creativity & Problem Vol.9 No.2
The answer to the title question is that creativity should be assessed with multiple methods in order to recognize and nurture it. Testing may be most valuable with certain subgroups of children, especially those whose creativity is not yet actualized. Creativity testing is suggested in addition to product and performance evaluations in order to ensure that creative potential, as well as creative productivity, is assessed. The Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking are recommended as the best standardized measures to use because of the preponderance of evidence of their reliability and validity over time and in different cultures.

Theism has unparalleled explanatory power and atheism is irrational. The discernment of the nature of God, however, requires that our eyes be opened in and through the perception of Jesus Christ as God made flesh. The God of the Bible, God with us as Jesus Christ, is a covenant God and not a contract God. The imperatives of law always flow from the indicatives of grace-God’s grace is not conditional, therefore, upon our fulfilling requirements. In Christ we are given to share in the one true, lived response to God’s grace. By the Spirit we are given to repose in his worship, righteousness, intercessions and communion with the Father. This witnesses to the filial, as opposed to the legal, nature of God’s relationship to humanity. Repentance (metanoia) requires to be seen as ‘evangelical’ not ‘legal.’ It is a response to ‘good news’ rather than law and divine condemnation. The gift of sharing, by grace, in the one true Amen of the sole Mediator gives rise to the all-transforming recognition that we all belong to God by right of creation and by right of redemption. This unconditional belonging reflects the heart of the Father and the fact that our relation to God is filial not legal. Reflecting this, prayer is the gift of sharing, by the Spirit, in the ongoing intercessions of our sole High Priest offered in our place and on our behalf.

Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) refers to a process and related technologies that enable a person to safely suggest, verify, and record state changes (usually updates) to synchronize ledgers distributed across network nodes. DLTs are becoming increasingly important as data management requirements evolve. Therefore, they need to understand the current state of standards (such as distributed storage and access technologies) to address future requirements. This paper provides ITU-T FG-DLT standard activities, such as standardization ization trends, use cases, reference architectures, platform evaluation criteria and future prospects.

Electrons in a single sheet of graphene behave quite differently from those in traditional two-dimensional electron systems. Like massless relativistic particles, they have linear dispersion and chiral eigenstates. Furthermore, two sets of electrons centred at different points in reciprocal space (??valleys??) have this dispersion, giving rise to valley degeneracy. The symmetry between valleys, together with spin symmetry, leads to a fourfold quartet degeneracy of the Landau levels, observed as peaks in the density of states produced by an applied magnetic field. Recent electron transport measurements have observed the lifting of the fourfold degeneracy in very large applied magnetic fields, separating the quartet into integer and, more recently, fractional levels. The exact nature of the broken-symmetry states that form within the Landau levels and lift these degeneracies is unclear at present and is a topic of intense theoretical debate. Here we study the detailed features of the four quantum states that make up a degenerate graphene Landau level. We use high-resolution scanning tunnelling spectroscopy at temperatures as low as 10??mK in an applied magnetic field to study the top layer of multilayer epitaxial graphene. When the Fermi level lies inside the fourfold Landau manifold, significant electron correlation effects result in an enhanced valley splitting for even filling factors, and an enhanced electron spin splitting for odd filling factors. Most unexpectedly, we observe states with Landau level filling factors of 7/2, 9/2 and 11/2, suggestive of new many-body states in graphene.
Determination of Brain Death/Death by Neurologic Criteria in Countries in Asia and the Pacific

Background and Purpose We sought to 1) identify countries in Asia and the Pacific that have protocols for the determination of brain death/death by neurologic criteria (BD/DNC) and 2) review the similarities and differences of these protocols in different countries. Methods Between January 2018 and April 2019, we attempted to communicate with contacts in the 57 countries in Asia and the Pacific to determine if they had official national BD/ DNC protocols. We reviewed and compared the identified protocols. Results We identified contacts for 40 (70%) of the 57 countries in Asia and the Pacific, and successfully communicated with 37 of them (93% of countries with contacts identified, 65% of countries in Asia and the Pacific). We found that 24 of the 37 countries had BD/DNC protocols. Two (13%) of the 16 protocols that provided a definition of death referred to brainstem death. Kazakhstan and Israel required only 1 examination to declare BD/DNC, while 10 (71%) of the other 14 protocols required 2 examinations separated by 6–48 hours. The prerequisites, clinical examination, apnea testing procedure, and indications for/selection of ancillary tests varied. Ancillary testing was required for all determinations of BD/DNC in five (21%) countries. Thirteen (54%) of the protocols included information about the time of death, while 12 (50%) of them provided instructions about discontinuation of organ support. Conclusions The protocols for conducting a BD/DNC determination vary markedly among countries in Asia and the Pacific. Since it is optimal to have internationally and intranationally consistent BD/DNC protocols, efforts should be made to harmonize protocols both within this region and worldwide.
