      • Space temporal interference cancellation using TDL array antenna and waveform based OMF for IR-UWB systems

        Takumi Kobayashi,Masato Suzuki,Chika Sugimoto,RyujiKohno 한국통신학회 2015 ICT Express Vol.1 No.2

This paper provides a space temporal interference cancellation method for ultra wide-band (UWB) communication systems based on combination of tapped delay line array antenna and orthogonal matched filter. In order to reduce the interference from the other system using overlapping frequency band, space domain signal processing such as an array antenna has been proposed. However, principal array antenna cannot be applied to impulse radio (IR) UWB because IR-UWB does not have carrier signal. In this paper, we propose a novel tapped delay line array antenna combined with orthogonal matched filter detector. From the numerical evaluation, we show that the proposed system can make null direction to face to the interference signal direction. Additionally, we show that the proposed system can reduce interference signal even if the interference signal has equivalent pulse shape and equivalent incoming direction.

Assisting Authors to Convert Raw Products into Polished Prose

( Takumi Ito ),( Tatsuki Kuribayashi ),( Hayato Kobayashi ),( Ana Brassard ),( Masato Hagiwara ),( Jun Suzuki ),( Kentaro Inui ) 서울대학교 인지과학연구소 2020 Journal of Cognitive Science Vol.21 No.1

Being a notoriously complex problem, writing is generally decomposed into a series of subtasks: idea generation, expression, revision, etc. Given some goal, the author generates a set of ideas (brainstorming), which he integrates into some skeleton (outline, text plan, outline). This leads to a first draft which is submitted then for revision possibly yielding changes at various levels (content, structure, form). Having made a draft, authors usually revise, edit, and proofread their documents. We confine ourselves here only to academic writing, focusing on sentence production. While there has been quite some work on this topic, most writing assistance has mainly dealt with grammatical errors, editing and proofreading, the goal being the correction of surface-level problems such as typography, spelling, or grammatical errors. We broaden the scope by also including cases where the entire sentence needs to be rewritten in order to express properly all of the information planned. Hence, Sentence-level Revision (SentRev) becomes part of our writing assistance task. Obviously, systems performing well in this task can be of considerable help for inexperienced authors by producing fluent, well-formed sentences based on the user’s drafts. In order to evaluate our SentRev model, we have built a new, freely available crowdsourced evaluation dataset which consists of a set of incomplete sentences produced by nonnative writers paired with final version sentences extracted from published academic papers. We also used this dataset to establish baseline performance on SentRev.

RADIO ASTROMETRIC OBSERVATIONS AND THE GALACTIC CONSTANT AS THE BASIS OF A GALACTIC KINEMATICS STUDY

        NAGAYAMA, TAKUMI,OMODAKA, TOSHIHIRO,HANDA, TOSHIHIRO,KOBAYASHI, HIDEYUKI,BURNS, ROSS A. The Korean Astronomical Society 2015 天文學論叢 Vol.30 No.2

We made phase-referencing Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations of Galactic 22 GHz $H_2O$ maser sources with VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry (VERA). We measured the parallax distances of G48.61+0.02, G48.99-0.30, G49.19-0.34, ON1, IRAS 20056+3350, IRAS 20143+3634, ON2N, and IRAS 20126+4104, which are located near the tangent point and the Solar circle. The angular velocity of the Galactic rotation at the LSR (i.e. the ratio of the Galactic constants) is derived using the measured parallax distances and proper motions of these sources. The derived value of ${\Omega}_0=28.8{\pm}1.7km\;s^{-1}kpc^{-1}$ is consistent with recent values obtained using VLBI astrometry but 10% larger than the International Astronomical Union (IAU) recommended value of $25.9km\;s^{-1}kpc^{-1}=(220km\;s^{-1})$ / (8.5 kpc).

Endoscopic Findings and Treatment of Gastric Neoplasms in Familial Adenomatous Polyposis

        Sato, Chihiro,Takahashi, Kazuya,Sato, Hiroki,Naruse, Takumi,Nakajima, Nao,Takatsuna, Masafumi,Mizuno, Ken-ichi,Hashimoto, Satoru,Takeuchi, Manabu,Yokoyama, Junji,Kobayashi, Masaaki,Terai, Shuji The Korean Gastric Cancer Association 2022 Journal of gastric cancer Vol.22 No.-

Purpose: Gastric neoplasia is a common manifestation of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). This study aimed to elucidate the clinical characteristics, endoscopic features including fundic gland polyposis (FGPsis), and treatment outcomes of gastric neoplasms (GNs) in patients with FAP. Materials and Methods: A total of 35 patients diagnosed with FAP, including nine patients from four pedigrees who underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), were investigated regarding patient characteristics, GN morphology, and treatment outcomes. Results: Twenty-one patients (60.0%) had 38 GNs; 33 (86.8%) and 5 (13.2%) were histologically diagnosed with adenocarcinoma and adenoma, respectively. There were no specific patient characteristics related to GNs.Nodule-type GNs were more prevalent in patients with FGP than without (52.2% vs. 0.0%, P=0.002) in the upper body of the stomach. Conversely, depressed-type GNs were fewer in patients with FGPsis than in those without (13.0% vs. 73.3%, P<0.001). Slightly elevated-type GNs were observed in both groups (34.8% vs. 20.0%, P=0.538). Even within pedigrees, the background gastric mucosa and types of GNs varied. In total, 24 GNs were treated with endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and eight with endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). EMR was selected for GNs with FGPsis because of the technical difficulty of ESD, resulting in a lower en bloc resection rate (62.5% vs. 100%, P=0.014). Conclusions: Our study indicates the necessity of routine EGD surveillance in patients diagnosed with FAP. Notably, the morphology and location of GNs differed between patients with and without FGPsis. Endoscopic treatment and outcomes require more attention in cases of FGPsis.
