The crystallographic, magnetic and transport properties of Sr1−xCaxRu0.5Mn0.5O3 were studiedto reveal the effects of crystal symmetry on the magnetism and the transport properties of antiferromagneticSrRu1−yMnyO3 (y > 0.2). The Ca-content dependences of the lattice constants and volumesuggest that the mixed valence state of Mn3+, Mn4+, Ru4+, and Ru5+ ions in SrRu0.5Mn0.5O3is held for Ca substitution. However, a structural transformation from tetragonal to orthorhombicsymmetry occurs at a Ca content of x 0.2, and a ferromagnetic state appears simultaneously. The Weiss temperature of all samples has a positive value regardless of the magnetic state. Theresistivity decreases as the Ca content increases, and the high temperature part of the resistivitycould be fitted by using the variable range hopping (VRH) model. The localization length increasesas soon as ferromagnetism appears. The Curie temperature seems to depend on the distance betweentransition metal ions. The antiferromagnetic state was explained by using the competitionbetween a ferromagnetic interaction along the c-axis and an antiferromagnetic interaction in theab-plane, and the orthorhombic ferromagnetic state was explained by using a three-dimensionalferromagnetic interaction between Mn ions.

Simultaneous monitoring on insecticide susceptibility of the long-range migrating rice planthoppers, brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens (Stal) and the white backed planthopper (WBPH), Sogatella furcifera (Horvath), was conducted in Japan, China (3 locations) and Malaysia by standardized topical application method on 10 insecticides in 2000. The LD5o for the 2000 Japan BPH and WBPH coincided with those for the two China populations, but one of the China populations gave remarkably larger $\textrm{LD}_{50}$ for imidacloprid, The 2000 Malaysia population of WBPH gave $\textrm{LD}_{50}$ almost equal to those of the 2000 Japan WBPH.
Boolean Approach to Dichotomic Quantum Measurement Theories

Recently, a new measurement theory based on truth values was proposed by Nagata and Nakamura [Int. J. Theor. Phys. 55, 3616 (2016)], that is, a theory where the results of measurements are either 0 or 1. The standard measurement theory accepts a hidden variable model for a single Pauli observable. Hence, we can introduce a classical probability space for the measurement theory in this particular case. Additionally, we discuss in the present contribution the fact that projective measurement theories (the results of which are either +1 or −1) imply the Bell, Kochen, and Specker (BKS) paradox for a single Pauli observable. To justify our assertion, we present the BKS theorem in almost all the two-dimensional states by using a projective measurement theory. As an example, we present the BKS theorem in two-dimensions with white noise. Our discussion provides new insight into the quantum measurement problem by using this measurement theory based on the truth values.
