Direct Measurement of the 14O(α, α)14O Cross Section for Astrophysically Important 14O + α Resonances

        김아람,N. H. Lee,I. S. Hahn,J. S. Yoo,M. H. Han,S. Kubono,H. Yamaguchi,S. Hayakawa,Y. Wakabayashi,D. Binh,H. Hashimoto,T. Kawabata,D. Kahl,Y. Kurihara,Y. K. Kwon,T. Teranishi,S. Kato,T. Komatsubara,B. Gu 한국물리학회 2010 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.57 No.1

For the study of astrophysically important states in 18Ne, the 14O(α, α)14O cross section was measured in inverse kinematics using a radioactive 14O beam. This reaction was investigated for properties of resonant states of 18Ne for determining the 14O(α, p)17F reaction rate, which is one of the most important reactions for understanding the breakout mechanism from the Hot CNO cycle to the rp-process. Alpha-induced elastic scattering on 14O was performed using the lowenergy radioactive ion (RI) beam separator at the Center for Nuclear Study (CNS) in the RIKEN Accelerator Research Facility. The energy range Ex = 7.2 ∽ 13.1 MeV of 18Ne was scanned with the thick target method. Recoiled alpha particles were measured with Si dE-E telescopes. Spins and widths of three resonances at Ex = 8.6, 9.22, and 10.06 MeV were calculated using the R-matrix analysis, and a new state of 18Ne at Ex = 12.0 MeV was found in this experiment.

        Collective Bands in $^{115}I

Chang-Bum Moon,K Furuno,T Komatsubara 한국물리학회 2003 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.43 No.I

The excited states of the $^{115}$I nucleus have been studied by using in-beam $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy with the $^{89}$Y ($^{29}$Si, 3n) $^{115}$I reaction at a beam energy of 108 MeV. The level scheme of $^{115}$I was established by using $\gamma-\gamma$ coincidence and $\gamma-\gamma$ angular correlation analysis. In the present work, many collective bands built on the proton h$_{11/2}$, g$_{7/2}$, and d$_{5/2}$ were observed. Among them, an unfavored rotational band and a quasi-$\gamma$ band based on the $\pi$h$_{11/2}$ configuration was newly identified. A well-developed rotational band built on the 7/2$^+$ level was established up to I$^{\pi}$ = 47/2$^+$. This positive-collective band could be interpreted as coming from the $\pi$g$_{7/2}$ configuration at low spins. At higher spins above I$^{\pi}$ = 23/2$^+$, that band was found to be associated with the aligned three-quasiparticle configuration built on a proton in the g$_{7/2}$ orbital coupled to a pair of neutrons in the h$_{11/2}$ orbital.

Signature Anomaly in the Yrare Band of 119Xe

C.-B.Moon,S.J.Chae,J.H.Ha,T.Komatsubara,Y.Sasaki,T.Jumatsu,K.Yamada,K.Satou,K.Furuno 한국물리학회 2002 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.41 No.2

The excited states of the $^{119}$Xe nucleus have been studied by using in-beam $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy with the $^{107}$Ag ($^{16}$O, p3n) $^{119}$Xe fusion-evaporation reaction at a beam energy of 85 MeV. The level scheme of $^{119}$Xe has been derived from $\gamma$-$\gamma$ coincidence and $\gamma$-$\gamma$ angular correlation analyses. We have, for the first time, established the second negative-parity favored and unfavored states built on the 11/2$^-$ state, namely the yrare rotational bands in $^{119}$Xe. In contrast to the behavior of the yrast bands where the favored states are lying lower in energy, the yrare favored states were observed to lie above the unfavored band. Such a signature inversion becomes normal at $I$=12 $\hbar$, which is the first observation of critical inversion-spin in an odd-mass Xe. We suggest that the signature inversion might be associated with a shape coexistence in terms of the $\gamma$ deformations between the favored and the unfavored yrare bands based on the coupling of the favored $h_{11/2}$ neutron with the even- and the odd-spin members of the $\gamma$ bands in even-even neighbors.

        Multi-Quasiparticle States in Odd-Odd 118I

        C.-B. Moon,이춘식,M. Oshima,Y. Toh,J. Goto,Y. Hatsukawa,A. Kimura,M. Koizumi,A. Osa,T. Komatsubara,K. Miyakawa 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.53 No.4

The excited states of the doubly odd nucleus 118I have been studied by using in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy with the 110Cd(12C, p3n) reaction at Elab = 80 MeV. We have established several multi-quasiparticle states associated with different proton and neutron quasiparticle configurations. A I* = 14- level at 2561 keV was newly observed and found to be associated with the πh11/2υd5/2 configuration coupled to a pair of protons in the g7/2 orbital. TRS calculations for the 14- level indicated a favored oblate state based on the fully aligned four-quasiparticle π[h11=2(g7/2)2]23/2-υ[d5/2]5/2+ configuration. Another energetically favored state I* = 24- at 6216 keV could be interpreted as a noncollective oblate state from the fully aligned six-quasiparicle π[h11/2(g7/2)2]23/2-υ[d5/2(h11/2)2]25/2+ configuration. No Δ = 1 side band of the same parity as the πh11/2υh11/2 band was observed while a side band built on the πg9/2υh11/2 configuration was considered to be caused by the γ vibration coupling.
