        Study on the Distribution Environmental Characteristics of Unmanned Stores

        Purpose: The first purpose of this study is deriving in-store characteristics that affect the experience of customers using unmanned stores and reveals the value of major services that customers feel and experience. Also, an empirical analysis is conducted on the effect of intelligent consumption value after using unmanned stores on consumption emotions and continuous use intention, and the modulating effect of customers' untact tendency on environmental characteristics and the value of intelligent services is verified. Research design, data and methodology: Samples were taken from 186 people who visited the unmanned store from April to June 2022 to investigate the research model. Results: It was found that the environmental characteristics of unmanned stores had a positive effect on the intelligent service value. Also, the higher the value of intelligent service, the stronger the influence on consumption emotions, and the higher the value of the intelligence service and consumption emotions, the stronger the impact on the intention to use intention. The untact propensity played a role in controlling the relationship between ease of using technology and the intelligent service value and the relationship between spatial arrangement and functionality and intelligent service value. Conclusion: In order to improve unmanned store service in the trend of spreading unmanned stores, it is necessary to not only improve the technology using convenience in terms of store environmental characteristics but also create innovative consumption experiences in terms of space layout, function, and convenience of payment.

      • 횡적부조화와 개방교합 그리고 다수 결손치를 동반한 골격성 II급 부정교합 환자에서 상악 측절치를 견치로 대체한 치험례

        목적: 다수 결손치와 횡적 부조화, 개방교합을 동반한 골격성 II급 환자에서 결손 부위의 공간폐쇄와 상악궁의 확장 및 구치부 압하를 진행한 증례를 보고하고자 한다. 임상 증례: 본 증례는 19세 남환으로 상악 양측 측절치와 하악 좌측 소구치의 결손, 전치부 개방교합을 주소로 내원하였다. 결손부위의 공간폐쇄를 통해 심미와 기능적 개선을 얻고자 하였고,횡적 부조화를 개선하기 위해 미니스크류 보강형 급속구개확장을 적용하였다. 또한 개방교합을 개선하기 위해 상악 구개부 고정원을 이용한 구치부의 압하와 전치부의 정출을 진행하였다. 교정치료 완료 후, 상악의 양측 견치에는 보철적 수복을 진행하여 견치의 폭경, 형태, 치은의 높이에서 심미적으로 만족스러운 결과를 얻었다. 결론: 다수의 선천적 결손치가 존재하는 경우, 치료계획에는 교정적, 보철적 고려가 함께 포함되어야 한다. 상악 측절치 결손 시, 견치로 대체하여 공간을 폐쇄하는 방법은 장기적으로 만족스러운 심미와 기능적 결과를 보여준다. 견치로 대체하는 과정에서 견치의 근·원심과 절단연, 협측면의 치아 형태 재형성이 시행되어야 하며, 교정치료 완료 후에는 보철적 수복을 통해 심미성을 향상시킬 수 있다. Purpose: We report the case of a patient with skeletal Class II malocclusion, with multiple congenitally missing teeth, maxillary transverse discrepancy, and open bite, who underwent orthodontic treatment with space closure of the missing areas, maxillary expansion, and molar intrusion. Clinical Case: A 19-year-old man visited the hospital with multiple congenitally missing teeth, a maxillary transverse discrepancy, and an open bite. The main treatment goal was to obtain esthetic and functional improvement through space closure of the missing areas, and miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion was applied to enhance the transverse discrepancy. In addition, maxillary molar intrusion with palatal skeletal anchorage and incisor extrusion were performed to correct the open bite. Prosthetic restoration was performed on both maxillary canines following the completion of the orthodontic treatment, resulting in esthetically favorable changes in the width, shape, and gingival height of the teeth. Conclusion: Orthodontics and prosthetics should be included in the treatment plan of patients with multiple missing congenital teeth. Long-term esthetic and functional outcomes are pos-sible with the space closure technique, which involves replacing the canines in place of the missing maxillary lateral incisors. To replace missing teeth with canines, the incisal edges and buccal surfaces of the teeth must be reshaped. Prosthetic restoration can then be performed to improve esthetics after the completion of orthodontic treatment.

        Optimal bioconversion for compound K production from red ginseng root (C.A. Mayer) by sequential enzymatic hydrolysis and its characteristics

        Compound K (CK; 20-O-β-(d-glucopyranosyl)-20(S)-protopanaxadiol) is one of the metabolites of ginsenosides contained in red ginseng (RG) and is known to have high bioavailability. This study aimed to establish the optimal conditions for enzyme treatment to convert ginsenosides from RG extract to CK, and to prove the characteristics of bioconverted red ginseng (BRG) extract. CK was not detected in unenzyme-treated RG extract, and in the single-step enzyme treatment, it was produced at less than 4.58 mg/g only in treatment group with Pyr-flo or Sumizyme AC (at 50 °C for 48 h). The highest yield of CK (14.32 mg/g) was obtained by Ultimase MFC treatment at 50 °C for 48 h after treatment with a mixture of Pyr-flo and Rapidase at 50 °C for 24 h. Total polyphenol, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), and 2,2-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)) (ABTS) radical scavenging activity were higher in BRG than in RG (p < 0.5). High-fat diet (HD) rat fed 1% BRG had significantly lower body weight, heart weight, fat pads (periosteal fat, epididymal fat), serum glucose levels, and hepatic triglyceride levels than those HD rat fed 1% RG (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the sequential enzymatic bioconversion was produces higher CK in RG root extract than single-step enzyme treatment.

        제주도 대정-한경 유역 효율적 지하수자원 관리를 위한 자료기반 연구

        본 연구에서는 자료기반 분석 기법을 이용하여 제주 대정-한경 유역의 군집형 지하수 이용 관정의 영향력을 평가하고 지하수자원을 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 도구를 개발하였다. 분석을 위해 대정-한경 유역 내 총 19개 지하수위 관측공의 지하수위 자료, 총 3개 기상 관측소로부터 측정된 강수량 자료, 및 총 4개의 군집형 지하수 이용 관정(저지, 금악, 서광, 및 영어교육도시)으로부터 획득한 이용량 자료가 이용되었다. 먼저, 각 지하수위 관측공에 대하여 강수량 및 이용량 자료를 입력변수로 하는 자료기반 지하수위 예측모델을 개발하였다. 이때, 과거의 장기적 변동특성을 효과적으로 학습에 이용하기 위하여 누적 장단기 메모리 모델을 이용하였다. 모든 관측 공에 대하여 지하수위 예측모델을 개발하고, 이용량 입력변수에 대한 섭동 민감도 분석을 수행하여 각 군집형 관정의 공간적 영향력을 분석하였다. 금악 수원은 해당 수원 중심으로 영향이 크고, 서광 수원은 하류 지역을중심으로 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 영어교육도시는 수원의 상류 지역 중심, 저지 수원은 수원 상류 및 하류 중심으로 영향이 나타났다. 그리고 유역 내 군집형 수원의 영향력은 대략 5km인 것으로 나타났다. 추가적으로, 학습된 예측모델을 기반으로 군집형 이용 관정의 영향 범위에 포함되는 지하수위 관측공에 대해 강수량 대비 배경 지하수위 회복을 위한 적정 지하수 이용량을 산정하였다. 최근의 강수 패턴을 적용하였을 때, 현재 지하수 이용량을 기존의 80%로 제한할 필요성이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 강수량이 100mm 증가하였을 때, 대략 1,500 m3에서 1,900 m3의 추가적인 취수가 가능할 것으로 평가되었다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 대정-한경 유역 지하수 거동특성 평가 결과와 자료기반 분석 도구들은 대정-한경 유역의 지속 가능한 지하수 개발을 위한 유용한 정보로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. In this study, the impact of clustered groundwater usage facilities and the proper amount of groundwater usage in the Daejeong-Hangyeong watershed of Jeju island were evaluated based on the data-driven analysis methods. As the applied data, groundwater level data; the corresponding precipitation data; the groundwater usage amount data (Jeoji, Geumak, Seogwang, and English-education city facilities) were used. The results show that the Geumak usage facility has a large influence centering on the corresponding location; the Seogwang usage facility affects on the downstream area; the English-education usage facility has a great impact around the upstream of the location; the Jeoji usage facility shows an influence around the up- and down-streams of the location. Overall, the influence of operating the clustered groundwater usage facilities in the watershed is prolonged to approximately 5km. Additionally, the appropriate groundwater usage amount to maintain the groundwater base-level was analyzed corresponding to the precipitation. Considering the recent precipitation pattern, there is a need to limit the current amount of groundwater usage to 80%. With increasing the precipitation by 100mm, additional groundwater development of approximately 1,500m3-1,900m3 would be reasonable. All the results of the developed data-driven estimation model can be used as useful information for sustainable groundwater development in the Daejeong-Hangyeong watershed of Jeju island.

      • Another ecosystem: symbionts under symbiotic pressure

        All aspects of hosts’ life are affected not only by symbiotic bacterial community but also endosymbionts, such as physiological function, mating preference and fitness. Wolbachia, one of the most common endosymbionts, known as a manipulator of host sex ratio, may also have a huge effects on other symbionts. Here, we assessed the effects of Wolbachia on the diversity and structure of other symbiotic microbial communities in six ant species by using next-generation sequencing. Our results show that the diversity of the symbiotic microbial communities between Wolbachia-positive species and negative species is not different. However, according to the Wolbachia infection, dominant symbiotic microbes of each host species were different as well as the composition of the overall symbiotic microbial community. Thus, this study suggests that, as Wolbachia have an important role in shaping microbiome of hosts, endosymbiont infection status deserves special consideration in studying microbiome.

        Catalytic RNA, ribozyme, and its applications in synthetic biology

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Ribozymes are functional RNA molecules that can catalyze biochemical reactions. Since the discovery of the first catalytic RNA, various functional ribozymes (<I>e.g.</I>, self-cleaving ribozymes, splicing ribozymes, RNase P, <I>etc.</I>) have been uncovered, and their structures and mechanisms have been identified. Ribozymes have the advantage of possessing features of “RNA” molecules; hence, they are highly applicable for manipulating various biological systems. To fully employ ribozymes in a broad range of biological applications in synthetic biology, a variety of ribozymes have been developed and engineered. Here, we summarize the main features of ribozymes and the methods used for engineering their functions. We also describe the past and recent efforts towards exploiting ribozymes for effective and novel applications in synthetic biology.
