        국어교육분야에서의 읽기 부진 연구 동향 : 주제범위 문헌고찰(Scoping Review)

        본 연구는 주제범위 문헌고찰을 사용해 독서 상황에서 소외된 집단이라 할 수 있는 읽기 부진 관련 연구가 국어교육 분야에서 어떻게 진행되었는지 그 양상을 체계적으로 검토하였다. 2차에 걸친 전문가 자문을 거쳐 총 26편의 논문이 확정되었다. 분석 결과, 국어교육 분야에서의 읽기 부진 관련연구는 2000년부터 등장하며, 2016년을 기점으로 증가하고 있다. 읽기 부진을 지칭하는 용어로는 '읽기 부진'이 가장 많으나 2014년부터 저성취와 관련된 용어가 사용된 연구가 나타난다. 연구 목적/질문 측면에서는 읽기부진의 유형이나 학습자의 특성을 탐색하는 연구가 가장 많았다. 연구 방법적으로는 양적 연구가 가장 많았으며, 초등 학습자를 연구 참여자로 진행한 연구가 대부분이었다. 연구 참여자를 선별하는 도구나 기준은 연구자마다 다르게 적용한 것으로 드러났다. 이러한 결과를 근거로 국어교육 분야에서의 읽기 부진 관련 연구는 아직 초기 단계이며, 앞으로 읽기 부진 개념에 대한 합의와 학습자 이외의 다양한 요인에 대한 연구가 이어져야 한다는 논의를 제시하였다. This study explored the trends of research in low achievement in reading within the field of Korean Education. This is achieved by implementing a scoping review, which is one of the ways to analyze a body of literature systematically. Following multiple screenings and consultations with Korean Education experts, 26 studies have been identified from five major databases. The results show that the research in low achievement in reading began in 2000 and that the number of studies has been increasing since 2016. Researchers most often used “reading underachievement” to describe low achievement in reading, and more than one-third of the studies analyzed aimed to explore types of low achievement in reading. Among the studies, 77% were quantitative, whereas only 20% implemented qualitative research methods. More than half of the studies examined elementary level readers. Criteria to identify readers with low achievement were inconsistent across the studies. Discussions are provided.

        Morphology and molecular characterization of the epiphytic dinoflagellate Amphidinium massartii, isolated from the temperate waters off Jeju Island, Korea

        Amphidinium massartii Biecheler is an epiphytic and toxic dinoflagellate. Prior to the present study, A. massartii has been reported in the waters off the Mediterranean, Australian, USA, and Canadian coasts. We isolated Amphidinium cells from the coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea and their morphology and rDNA sequences indicated that they were A. massartii. Herein, we report for the first time the occurrence of A. massartii in the waters of the temperate region in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. The large subunit (LSU) rDNA sequences of the Korean strains were 0.7% different from those of an Australian strain of A. massartii CS-259, the closest species, but were 4.1-5.8% different from those of the other Australian strains and the USA strains of A. massartii and from those of Amphidinium sp. HG115 that was isolated from subtropical Okinawan waters. In phylogenetic trees based on LSU, internal transcribed spacer, small subunit rDNA, and cytochrome b sequences, the Korean strains belonged to the A. massartii clade, which was clearly divergent from the A. carterae clade. The morphology of the Korean A. massartii strains was similar to that of the originally described French strain and recently described Australian strain. However, we report for the first time here that scales were observed on the surface of the flagella. In conclusion, the Korean A. massartii strains have unique rDNA sequences, even though they have a very similar morphology to that of previously reported strains. This report extends the known range of this dinoflagellate to the temperate waters of the northwestern Pacific Ocean.

        Chiral differentiation of d- and l-isoleucine using permethylated β-cyclodextrin: infrared multiple photon dissociation spectroscopy, ion-mobility mass spectrometry, and DFT calculations

        <P>Chiral differentiation of protonated isoleucine (Ile) using permethylated β-cyclodextrin (perCD) in the gas-phase was studied using infrared multiple photon dissociation (IRMPD) spectroscopy, ion-mobility, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The gaseous protonated non-covalent complexes of perCD and d-Ile or l-Ile produced by electrospray ionization were interrogated by laser pulses in the wavenumber region of 2650 to 3800 cm<SUP>−1</SUP>. The IRMPD spectra showed remarkably different IR spectral features for the d-Ile or l-Ile and perCD non-covalent complexes. However, drift-tube ion-mobility experiments provided only a small difference in their collision cross-sections, and thus a limited separation of the d- and l-Ile complexes. DFT calculations revealed that the chiral distinction of the d- and l-complexes by IRMPD spectroscopy resulted from local interactions of the protonated Ile with perCD. Furthermore, the theoretical results showed that the IR absorption spectra of higher energy conformers (by ∼13.7 kcal mol<SUP>−1</SUP>) matched best with the experimentally observed IRMPD spectra. These conformers are speculated to be formed from kinetic-trapping of the solution-phase conformers. This study demonstrated that IRMPD spectroscopy provides an excellent platform for differentiating the subtle chiral difference of a small amino acid in a cyclodextrin-complexation environment; however, drift-tube ion-mobility did not have sufficient resolution to distinguish the chiral difference.</P>

        A database of 5305 healthy Korean individuals reveals genetic and clinical implications for an East Asian population

        Despite substantial advances in disease genetics, studies to date have largely focused on individuals of European descent. This limits further discoveries of novel functional genetic variants in other ethnic groups. To alleviate the paucity of East Asian population genome resources, we established the Korean Variant Archive 2 (KOVA 2), which is composed of 1896 whole-genome sequences and 3409 whole-exome sequences from healthy individuals of Korean ethnicity. This is the largest genome database from the ethnic Korean population to date, surpassing the 1909 Korean individuals deposited in gnomAD. The variants in KOVA 2 displayed all the known genetic features of those from previous genome databases, and we compiled data from Korean-specific runs of homozygosity, positively selected intervals, and structural variants. In doing so, we found loci, such as the loci of ADH1A/1B and UHRF1BP1, that are strongly selected in the Korean population relative to other East Asian populations. Our analysis of allele ages revealed a correlation between variant functionality and evolutionary age. The data can be browsed and downloaded from a public website (https://www.kobic.re.kr/kova/). We anticipate that KOVA 2 will serve as a valuable resource for genetic studies involving East Asian populations.

      • The calcineurin inhibitor Sarah (Nebula) exacerbates Aβ42 phenotypes in a <i>Drosophila</i> model of Alzheimer's disease

        <P><B>ABSTRACT</B></P><P>Expression of the Down syndrome critical region 1 (DSCR1) protein, an inhibitor of the Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>-dependent phosphatase calcineurin, is elevated in the brains of individuals with Down syndrome (DS) or Alzheimer's disease (AD). Although increased levels of DSCR1 were often observed to be deleterious to neuronal health, its beneficial effects against AD neuropathology have also been reported, and the roles of DSCR1 on the pathogenesis of AD remain controversial. Here, we investigated the role of <I>sarah</I> (<I>sra</I>; also known as <I>nebula</I>), a <I>Drosophila DSCR1</I> ortholog, in amyloid-β42 (Aβ42)-induced neurological phenotypes in <I>Drosophila</I>. We detected <I>sra</I> expression in the mushroom bodies of the fly brain, which are a center for learning and memory in flies. Moreover, similar to humans with AD, <I>Aβ42</I>-expressing flies showed increased Sra levels in the brain, demonstrating that the expression pattern of DSCR1 with regard to AD pathogenesis is conserved in <I>Drosophila</I>. Interestingly, overexpression of <I>sra</I> using the <I>UAS-GAL4</I> system exacerbated the rough-eye phenotype, decreased survival rates and increased neuronal cell death in <I>Aβ42</I>-expressing flies, without modulating <I>Aβ42</I> expression. Moreover, neuronal overexpression of <I>sra</I> in combination with <I>Aβ42</I> dramatically reduced both locomotor activity and the adult lifespan of flies, whereas flies with overexpression of <I>sra</I> alone showed normal climbing ability, albeit with a slightly reduced lifespan. Similarly, treatment with chemical inhibitors of calcineurin, such as FK506 and cyclosporin A, or knockdown of calcineurin expression by RNA interference (RNAi), exacerbated the <I>Aβ42-</I>induced rough-eye phenotype. Furthermore, <I>sra-</I>overexpressing flies displayed significantly decreased mitochondrial DNA and ATP levels, as well as increased susceptibility to oxidative stress compared to that of control flies. Taken together, our results demonstrating that <I>sra</I> overexpression augments Aβ42 cytotoxicity in <I>Drosophila</I> suggest that <I>DSCR1</I> upregulation or calcineurin downregulation in the brain might exacerbate Aβ42-associated neuropathogenesis in AD or DS.</P>

      • <i>Drosophila</i> DJ-1 Decreases Neural Sensitivity to Stress by Negatively Regulating Daxx-Like Protein through dFOXO

        <▼1><P><I>DJ-1</I>, a Parkinson's disease (PD)–associated gene, has been shown to protect against oxidative stress in <I>Drosophila</I>. However, the molecular mechanism underlying oxidative stress-induced phenotypes, including apoptosis, locomotive defects, and lethality, in <I>DJ-1</I>-deficient flies is not fully understood. Here we showed that <I>Daxx-like protein</I> (<I>DLP</I>), a <I>Drosophila</I> homologue of the mammalian <I>Death domain-associated protein</I> (<I>Daxx</I>), was upregulated under oxidative stress conditions in the loss-of-function mutants of <I>Drosophila DJ-1β</I>, a <I>Drosophila</I> homologue of <I>DJ-1</I>. <I>DLP</I> overexpression induced apoptosis via the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/<I>Drosophila</I> forkhead box subgroup O (dFOXO) pathway, whereas loss of <I>DLP</I> increased resistance to oxidative stress and UV irradiation. Moreover, the oxidative stress-induced phenotypes of <I>DJ-1β</I> mutants were dramatically rescued by <I>DLP</I> deficiency, suggesting that enhanced expression of <I>DLP</I> contributes to the <I>DJ-1β</I> mutant phenotypes. Interestingly, we found that dFOXO was required for the increase in <I>DLP</I> expression in <I>DJ-1β</I> mutants and that dFOXO activity was increased in the heads of <I>DJ-1β</I> mutants. In addition, subcellular localization of DLP appeared to be influenced by <I>DJ-1</I> expression so that cytosolic DLP was increased in <I>DJ-1β</I> mutants. Similarly, in mammalian cells, Daxx translocation from the nucleus to the cytosol was suppressed by overexpressed <I>DJ-1β</I> under oxidative stress conditions; and, furthermore, targeted expression of <I>DJ-1β</I> to mitochondria efficiently inhibited the Daxx translocation. Taken together, our findings demonstrate that DJ-1β protects flies against oxidative stress- and UV-induced apoptosis by regulating the subcellular localization and gene expression of DLP, thus implying that Daxx-induced apoptosis is involved in the pathogenesis of <I>DJ-1</I>-associated PD.</P></▼1><▼2><P><B>Author Summary</B></P><P>DJ-1 is an antioxidant protein that has been implicated in autosomal recessive Parkinson's disease (PD), although the mechanism by which <I>DJ-1</I> deficiency causes PD remains elusive. <I>Drosophila DJ-1</I> mutants are highly sensitive to oxidative stress and UV irradiation, and oxidative stress-induced cell death is significantly increased in dopaminergic neurons. In this study, we characterized a <I>Drosophila</I> homologue of death domain-associated protein (Daxx), <I>Daxx-like protein</I> (<I>DLP</I>), as a key player in the process of the oxidative stress-induced cell death in <I>DJ-1</I> mutants. Upon oxidative stress, <I>DLP</I> expression was increased in the <I>DJ-1</I> mutants, and locomotive defects and oxidative stress-induced phenotypes including apoptosis and lethality were dramatically rescued by <I>DLP</I> deficiency. More interestingly, we revealed that <I>Drosophila</I> forkhead box subgroup O was required for the increased <I>DLP</I> expression in <I>DJ-1</I> mutants. Additionally, <I>Drosophila</I> DJ-1 suppressed DLP and Daxx translocation from the nucleus to the cytosol in both fly brain and mammalian cells. Interestingly, targeted expression of <I>Drosophila DJ-1</I> to mitochondria efficiently inhibited Daxx translocation. Our results show that <I>Drosophila</I> DJ-1 protects dopaminergic neurons from oxidative stresses by regulating the subcellular localization and gene expression of <I>DLP</I>, providing a clue to understanding the molecular mechanism underlying oxidative stress-induced neuronal death in PD.</P></▼2>

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between self-esteem, stress and interpersonal relationship of nursing college students. Method: The data were collected from 170 students during the period of May 15 to 23, 2014 using self-esteem inventory, relationship change scale and stress measurement scale for Korean nursing college students. Result: Data analysis revealed that the self-esteem score of the subjects was 74.32±13.20, the level of stress was 98.22±27.83 and the interpersonal relationship score was 87.86±12.59, respectively. As school year increases, self-esteem scores were decreased and the stress levels were increased (p < .001, respectively). Students with higher major satisfaction, higher self-recognized health status or higher self-rating interpersonal relationship showed increased interpersonal relationship scores. There was significant negative correlation between stress and interpersonal relationship (r = - .285, p < .001) and between self-esteem and stress (r = - .457, p < .001) while positive correlation was shown between self-esteem and interpersonal relationship (r = .325, p < .0001). Conclusion: To promote an effective interpersonal relationship of nursing college students, specific programs should be developed that would cater the needs of the students in self-esteem enhancement and relevant programs to decrease the level of stress they are experiencing.

        연관성을 이용한 침입탐지 정보 분석 시스템의 설계 및 구현

        조직이 운영하는 네트워크의 규모가 방대해지고, 인터넷 사용이 활성화되면서 보안의 중요성도 함께 증가하였다. 그러나 최근 보안의 핵심으로 부각되고 있는 침입탐지 시스템들은 인터넷상의 공격들에 대한 적절한 분석이나 효율적인 대응책을 제공해 주기 보다는, 대량의 침입탐지 정보를 생성시켜 관리자의 부담을 가중시키고 있다. 본 논문에서는 침입탐지 시스템이 생성하는 대량의 침입탐지 정보들간에 존재하는 연관성을 분석하여 대응에 필요한 고 수준의 정보를 실시간으로 생성해 냄으로써 관리 및 분석의 효율성을 증진시키고, 나아가서는 분산 서비스 거부 공격(DDoS) 같은 대규모의 공격까지도 조기에 탐지해 낼 수 있는 능력을 갖춘 침입탐지 정보 분석 시스템을 제안한다. 그리고 제안된 시스템의 성능 분석을 위해 각 모듈의 처리 효율을 측정하고 알려진 공격 시나리오 기반의 시험 평가를 실시한다. With the growing deployment of network and internet, the importance of security is also increased. But, recent intrusion detection systems which have an important position in security countermeasure can't provide proper analysis and effective defence mechanism. Instead, they have overwhelmed human operator by large volume of intrusion detection alerts. In this paper, we propose an efficient alert analysis system that can produce high level information by analyzing and processing the large volume of alerts and can detect large-scale attacks such as DDoS in early stage. And we have measured processing rate of each elementary module and carried out a scenario-based test in order to analyzing efficiency of our proposed system.
