K-뷰티의 미백 문화에 대한 인종과 젠더의 상호교차적 연구를 위한 시론

세계화와 디지털 문화를 바탕으로 한류가 확장되는 과정에서 소위 ‘K-뷰티’라고 불리는 한국의 뷰티 문화도 반향을 얻고 있다. K-뷰티에 대해서는 주로 시장의 성과 측면에서만 조명되고 있으나, 한 사회의 뷰티 규범은 젠더 및 인종적 정체성과 밀접하게 관련된 부분임과 동시에 주체와 권력의 문제를 동반한다는 점에서 질적인 해석이 요구되는 중요한 주제이다. 이러한 중요성에 입각해 본 연구는 K-뷰티의 핵심인 미백이 인종과 젠더의 차원이 교차하는 권력 구조 속에서 어떠한 논의를 생산해내고 있는지를 최근 한국 아이돌 그룹의 미백 보정 사진을 둘러싸고 일어난 화이트워싱/옐로우워싱 논쟁을 통해 살펴보고자 한다. K-뷰티의 핵심적 관습으로서의 미백이 백인 모방이라고 비판하는 입장과 오히려 그러한 비판 자체가 식민제국주의적 권력임을 주장하는 입장이 맞서는 과정에서, 아시아인에 대한 인종적 상상력에 비판적인 재고 및 수정의 가능성이 발견된다. 더불어 논쟁이 남성 아이돌에 집중된 양상을 들여다볼 때, 백인 남성 중심의 세계 인종 및 젠더 질서 안에서 새로운 영역 및 남성성의 대안적 가능성으로 해석되고 있는 아시아 남성을 발견할 수 있다. K-뷰티가 만들어낸 상호교차적 정체성의 수행은 향후 더 구체적인 질문을 동반하는 새로운 연구의 장으로서 인식될 필요가 있다 With the expansion of Hallyu, Korean beauty culture called ‘K-beauty’ is gaining its popularity. While K-beauty has proved its power via market figure, it also requires more qualitative cultural interpretation, because the beauty norm of a society is not only closely related to the gender and racial identity performance but also raises the issue of subject and power. In recognition of its significance, this study examines the skin-whitening culture of Korean society, which is the core of K-beauty conventions and explores what kind of changes and challenges it produces in terms of racial and gender imagery of Asians. Recently, some international fans of K-pop have accused the photos of K-pop idols as ‘whitewashing’, but others refute this perspective as ‘yellowwashing’, thereby triggering the critical debate on the racial identity and performativity of Asians. Moreover, as whitewashing/yellowwashing debate is focused on male idols, it also raises the questions in terms of gender performativity. The soft masculinity of Korean male idols is recognized as a new alternative against toxic masculinity of western society. 조영증강 초음파 진단에서 호흡에 의한 움직임 보정 기법

본 연구에서는 의료 진단 초음파 진단과정에서 호흡으로 인한 흔들림 현상을 보정하는 ROI 추적 기법을 제안한다. 조영증강 초음파 진단에서 조영효과의 전이시간(transit time)은 간 섬유화 정도를 판별하는 중요한 파라미터로 사용된다. 조영증강 초음파 데이터에서 나타나는 마이크로 버블 형태의 노이즈와 호흡에 의한 흔들림 현상은 픽셀단위의 영상처리 과정을 어렵게 할 뿐만 아니라 유사도(similarity) 평가를 기반으로 하는 ROI 추적 과정에서 성능저하의 원인이 된다. 이를 위하여 초음파 진단 데이터에서 조영제 확산효과의 측정 곡선을 4개의 단계로 구분하고, 단계의 특성과 호흡주기에 따른 움직임에 대한 모멘텀 요소를 고려하여 동적 가중치를 정의하였다. 제안된 방법이 초음파 진단에서 호흡에 의한 흔들림을 보정함으로써 간 섬유화 진단과정에서 신뢰도를 향상시킬 수 있음을 실험을 통하여 고찰하였다. In this paper, we propose a ROI tracking method for correcting the respiratory motion in ultrasonography. The transit time of contrast-enhanced ultrasound is an important parameter to assess the stages of liver fibrosis in patients with liver disease. Respiratory motion and micro-bubble noise in the ultrasound data may bring some difficulties in pixel-based image processing and may be the cause of performance degradation in similarity-based ROI tracking processes. We have classified the time-intensity curve into four stages and defined the dynamic weights which reflect the momentum of the respiratory motion. Through the experiments, we have shown that the proposed method improves the reliability of the liver-fibrosis assessment process by compensating the respiratory motion in ultrasonography.

부산 지역 대학생의 ‘ㅂ 불규칙 활용’ 양상에 대하여

이 논문은 부산에서 태어난 부신교육대학교 학생을 대상으로 ㅂ 불규칙 활용 양상을 분석하였다. 일반적으로 경상도 방언은 ㅂ 불규칙 활용을 ㅂ 규칙 활용으로 한다고 알려져 있다. 부산교육대학교 학생은 초등학교 교사가 되어 초등학생을 가르친다. 2011 개정 국어과 교육과정에서는 표준어와 방언에 대하여 학습하게 된다. 학습에 필요한 자료를 제공할 때 교사의 언어는 절대적이다. 그렇기 때문에 경상도 방언을 사용하는 예비교사를 분석하는 작업은 중요하다. 조사방법으로는 질문지법과 관찰을 활용하였다. 분석방법은 각 용언을 ㅂ불규칙 활용을 하는 경우와 ㅂ 불규칙 활용을 하지 않는 경우로 나누어 통계를 내고, 전체적 양상, 품사별, 남녀별 양상, 부모 출신지별 양상, 음절수별 양상으로 나누어 분석하였다. 조사결과 ㅂ 불규칙 활용을 하는 학생의 비율이 높았으나 ㅂ규칙 활용을 하는 학생의 비율도 적지 않았다. 교사의 방언이 학생들을 가르칠 때 어떤 영향을 미칠지 후속연구가 필요하다. This thesis is analyzing the aspect of using irregular [P]sound at the end of verbs, adverds and adjectives. And the analysis have the students of Busan National University of Education, who were born in Busan as the object. Generally, regional dialect of Gyeongsang-do is known as using regular [P]sound, instead of using irregular [P]sound. The students of BN1UE will soon teach elementary school students as a teacher. Following the changed curriculum in 2011, elementary students learn about regional dialects and the standard one. The language teacher uses is absolute to students when supplying essential materials for learning it. So, it is important to analyze the pre- teachers who are using regional dialect of Gyeongsang-do. Survey used observation and question paper as its method. The way of this analysis goes like this. First, it made statistics of the verbs, adverbs and adjectives, divided as using irregular [P]sound and regular [P]sound. And then, analyzed with the aspect of overall, parts of speech, sexes, native places of parents, numbers of syllable. According to the result of the analysis, the percentage of the students using irregular [P]sound was higher than regular [P]sound. But the ratio of the students using regular [P]sound was considerable. We need another following study of effects of teachers’ regional dialect when teaching.

신자유주의 한국 사회에서 연애하기

최근 한국 사회에는 연애 욕구를 생성해내는 분위기가 존재하면서도, 한편으로는 연애에 대한 담론이 삼포 세대를 중심으로 한 세대론에 포섭되어 있는 경향이 있다. 본 연구는 연애정상화 담론이나 연애불가능 담론이 지닌 단면성에 대한 문제의식을 바탕으로, 오늘날 신자유주의 한국 사회에서 연애하기의 구체적이고 실천적인 측면을 분석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 그리고 낭만적 사랑 복합체에서 유동적인 합류적 사랑 담론으로 이어지는 서구의 연애 담론에 대한 답습이나 통계상으로 파악되는 친밀성 영역의 변화로는 미처 다 설명되지 못하는, 한국 사회에서의 연애하기의 특수성을 포착하기 위해 한국 로맨틱 코미디 영화의 재현에 주목한다. 최근 한국 로맨틱코미디 영화는 종래의 로맨틱 코미디 문법에서는 조금씩 벗어난 특징들을 보여주고 있으며, 이로부터 신자유주의 한국 사회에서 연애하기가 어떠한 사회경제적 맥락 하에 특수한 양상을 지니고 실천되고 있는가를 읽어낼 수 있다. 오늘날의 연애주체는 신자유주의에 의해 형성된 물적 조건 위에서 상충하고 유동하는 가치체계 속에 놓여있다. 그로 인해 연애관계 속에는 도구적 연애관, 썸과 같은 새로운 관계의 문화, 첫사랑에 대하 노스탤지어, 남성성의 변화 등 다양한 면모가 존재한다. 이로부터 삼포세대나 연애불가능 세대라는 비관적 호명을 벗어나 젊은 세대가 친밀성 영역에서 보여주는 감수성과 실천에 대한 구체적 논의를 모색해보고자 한다. This study analyzes the aspects and meanings of romantic relationship in neoliberal Korean society. In South Korea, ‘love’ carries a distinguished meaning, as Korean society’s particular context should be considered. The term ‘N-po generation’ is a striking example that reflects the structural poverty of contemporary Korea’s young generation, which leads to the formation of the discourse on the impossibility of love. On the other hand, society encourages the youth to engage in romantic relationship as the media actively deals with romance and sexual issues. This paradox between the impossibility of love and the normalization of love in today’s Korean youth culture is the starting point of this study. To grasp the particularity of romantic relationship in contemporary Korean society, this study analyzes the representation of romantic relationship in Korean romantic comedy movies since 2008, which show different characteristics from conventional romantic comedy movies. Through text analysis and discourse analysis, we can find out that the recent socioeconomic structure situates romantic relationship in the fluctuating and contradictory values, resulting in new practices, norms, and sensitivities in romantic relationship. The subjectivity of the individual in romantic relationship implies a silver lining against all the superficial and pessimistic discourses that surround the contemporary Korean society.

샘 오취리의 스타 이미지 분석을 통해 본 한국 다문화주의의 발전과 한계

본 연구는 최근 형성되고 있는 국내의 복잡한 다문화주의의 지형과 새로운 인종주의적 현상들을 배경으로 가나 출신의 방송 스타인 샘 오취리를 통해 한국 다문화주의의 발전과 한계를 짚어보는 것을 목표로 한다. 오취리는 국내 여러 방송 프로그램에 출연하며 스타덤을 형성했지만 블랙페이스 문제와 관련된 이른바 ‘관짝소년단 논란’을 겪으면서 활동을 중단한 인물로서, 본 연구는 그를 한국 미디어와 사회의 다문화성을 진단하는 하나의 담론적 텍스트로 바라본다. 스타 이미지란 스타 개인이 보유한 특정 성질만으로 형성되는 것이 아니라 사회 및 대중과의 관계 속에서 형성되는 것이라고 할 때, 인종적 성격과 스타로서의 성격의 접합을 통해 만들어진 오취리의 스타 이미지는 한국 사회의 다문화주의와 인종주의의 한 단면을 드러낸다. 오취리의 스타 이미지를 구성하는 홍보, 평판, 역할, 비평 영역의 미디어 텍스트들을 관찰한 결과, 오취리는 유사 한국인으로서, 한국적 정서를 매개하는 재담꾼으로서, 한국의 다문화성을 증명해줄 흑인의 대표자로서의 이미지를 통해 한국 미디어 및 사회 안에서 긍정적으로 포용될 수 있었음을 발견할 수 있었다. 그러나 관짝소년단 논란은 대중들이 이러한 이미지를 벗어난 오취리를 발견하게 된 계기였고, 오취리의 이미지는 흑인에게 부여되어 온 종래의 부정적 관념들로 대체 및 재구성되었다. 오취리의 스타 이미지가 구축 및 해체되는 일련의 과정을 통해 본 연구는 한국 다문화주의에 내재한 모순 및 한계를 다양성, 대표성, 진정성의 차원에서 개념화하여 논의한다. 이를 통해 한국의 다문화주의가 언제든 타자성을 복원할 수 있는 불안정한 담론에서 단단한 토대를 지닌 일상의 감수성으로 성장해야 함을 주장한다. Facing the current state of multiculturalism and the emerging racial issues, this study aims to examine the development and limitations of multiculturalism through the case of Sam Okyere, a Ghanaian TV star in South Korea. Appearing on various Korean TV programs, Okyere has formed stardom but discontinued his activities due to the recent controversy on blackface. We interpret him as a discursive text through which we can diagnose the multiculturality of Korean media and society. As star image is not merely formed by the specific characteristics of an individual star, but in a relation to society and the public, Okyre’s star image articulated by his racial traits and star personality reveals the current stage of multiculturalism and racism in Korean society. This study looks into various media texts that arguably function as promotion, publicity, role, and criticism in making star image. The findings show that Okyere was embraced in the Korean media and society through the star image as a ‘quasi-Korean’, ‘raconteur’ who successfully understood and mediated Korean humour, and ‘representative of black people’ that proved the advancement of multiculturalism in Korea. However, the controversy of blackface deviated his star image, and his image was thereby replaced and reconfigurated with the conventional negative stereotypes on black people. Exploring how Okyere’s star image is constructed and dismantled, this study discusses the contradictions and limitations embedded in Korean multiculturalismty. Finally, this study argues for a higher cultural sensitivity to multiculturalism and anti-racism.

게임 컷신(Cut Scene)에 따른 사운드 몽타주(Sound Montage) 분석

본 연구의 목적은 영상매체의 제작에 있어 주된 기법 중 하나인 사운드 몽타주 이론을 활용하여 게임속 음악과 사운드를 분석하고 그 역할을 도출하는 것이다. 연구의 방법은 선정한 게임의 컷신들을 사운드 몽타주 이론을 적용하여 살펴보고 시청각적 대위법의 관계를 조명하는 것이다. 분석 결과, 게임 또한 대부분의 영상매체처럼 시각적 상황과 사운드의 활용이 긴밀하게 상호작용하고 있었으며, 영화에서만 살펴지던 사운드 몽타주 이론이 게임에서도 적용되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 감독의 의도를게임 사운드에 담아내는 중요한 연출 기법 중 하나로 사운드 몽타주 기법이 적극적으로 활용되고 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구가 학계에 부재한 게임 사운드 제작기법 연구의 유의미한 자료로 쓰이길 기대한다. The purpose of this study is to analyze and derive the roles of music and sound in video games using the theory of sound montage, a predominant technique in the creation of audiovisual media. The methodology involves examining selected game cut scenes by applying the theory of sound montage to illuminate the relationship between auditory and visual elements. The analysis revealed that, similar to most audiovisual media, games tightly intertwine visual scenarios with the utilization of sound, confirming the application of sound montage theory in gaming, a technique previously observed mainly in films. This signifies the active use of sound montage as a crucial directing technique to encapsulate the director's intentions within game sound. It is anticipated that this study will serve as a meaningful contribution to the academic field by filling the gap in research concerning game sound production techniques
