Human Bites Over Nose: Management and Reconstruction
Kuldeep Singh 대한성형외과학회 2023 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.50 No.2
Background Human bite wounds in emergency department need evaluation in regard of reconstruction. These are due to occlusive bite injuries over face. Most commonly, human bites over face involve ear and nose, andmay lead to avulsion injury. Defects over nose can be reconstructed immediately after debridement or delayed till the wound heals and scar becomes supple. Thorough wash and lavage with broadspectrum antibiotic cover has utmost importance in preventing cartilage infection. Methods We report 20 cases of human bite injuries over nose who presented to us in emergency department between 2018 and 2020. At the time of presentation the wound was assessed for closure. If not possible, patient was planned for delayed reconstruction after 3 months. In case delayed reconstruction was planned, the skin and nasal mucosa were approximated at first presentation. The patients underwent paramedian forehead flap after recreation of defect with conchal cartilage graft. Second stage of flap detachment and insetting was done after 3 weeks. After three weeks of second stage, third stage of flap thinning was done. Patients were followed for 3-6 months and subjective satisfaction was noted. Results Nineteen patients underwent delayed staged reconstruction with paramedian forehead flap and one underwent primary wound closure. The flap survival was 100%. The patient satisfaction was excellent in most cases. Conclusion We recommend delayed reconstruction for human bite nasal injuries. For reconstruction, paramedian forehead flap with conchal cartilage graft, if required, provides excellent reconstructive option with good contour and color match and minimal donor site scar.

A study was conducted on 2102 records of 808 crossbred cows of various genetic groups maintained under 'All India Coordinated Research Project on Cattle' at C C S Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, over 25 years period (1968-1993) with an objective to assess and compare the amount of percent improvement and heterotic effect for different performance traits in various genetic groups produced under this programme. Survivability sharply and significantly declined from 1/2 to $3/4^th$ bred and further from $3/4^th$ to inter-se bred. This may be due to periodic and management differences in addition to the higher level of exotic inheritance and decreased heterotic effect over the filial generations. Jersey and Holstein Friesian crosses among 1/2 breds and their 50% inheritance among $3/4^th$ and inter-se breds had highest improvement and heterosis in reproduction and production traits respectively. Among inter se bred genetic groups, BFH (I) had no recombination loss in SP and CI, while FJH (I), JFH (I) and FBH (I) had on recombination loss in AFC, LY, LL and PE. The crossbreeding of zebu cows with exotic breeds brings about spectacular improvement in comparison to the performance of zebu breed, while conventional selection over several generation would lead to only modest improvement. In addition to additive effect, there was sufficient heterosis in Jersey crosses for reproduction and Holstein Friesian crosses for production performance. Three breed crosses with exotic inheritance between 50 and 75 percent incorporating genes (25 to 50%) from both of these breeds is the best combination for stabilization.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether manually plucked hairs might serve as an alternative sample for a quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) testing. Twenty three, 1~3 week old, non-bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) vaccinated calves, found to be positive for BVDV by immunohistochemical staining, were selected and hairs were manually plucked from the ear. qRT-PCR was performed on samples consisting of more than 30 hairs (30~100) and whole blood. All 23 animals were positive for the virus by qRT-PCR performed on the whole blood and when samples of more than 30 hairs were assayed. Additionally, qRT-PCR was performed on groups of 10 and 20 hairs harvested from 7 out of 23 immunohistochemical staining-positive calves. When groups of 20 and 10 hairs were tested, 6 and 4 animals, respectively, were positive for the virus.

New series of pyrochlore compounds Ga2Mn2-xCrxO7 (x = 0–0.5) has been synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction method. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirms a single-phase cubic structure of the prepared compounds. All compounds undergo a paramagnetic-antiferromagnetic transition at the N´eel transition temperature, close to 42 K. Below ~12 K temperature, magnetization measurements reveal a glassy behaviour. The value of frustration parameter indicates the presence of a spin frustration. All the compounds exhibit the Griffiths phase. The Arrott’s plots confirmed a second-order magnetic phase transition. Moreover, under 5 T applied magnetic field, the maximum value of magnetic entropy change -ΔS was 1.36 J/kg.K for Ga2Mn2O7 compound, which slightly increased to 1.47 J/kg.K for the compound with x = 0.5. At 21 K, the relative cooling power value enhanced from 42.96 J/kg to 47.73 J/kg with Cr4+-ion content changing from x = 0 to x = 0.5.
INTEGRAL REPRESENTATIONS OF THE k-BESSEL`S FUNCTION
( Kuldeep Singh Gehlot ),( Sunil Dutt Purohit ) 호남수학회 2016 호남수학학술지 Vol.38 No.1
This paper deals with the study of newly defined special function known as k-Bessel`s function due to Gehlot [2]. Certain integral representations of k-Bessel`s function are investigated. Known integrals of classical Bessel`s function are seen to follow as special cases of our main results.

This study demonstrated that the addition of a p-type CuAlO2 (CAO) nanolayer improves the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of sputtered CZTSSe thin film solar cells (TFSCs). The addition of CAO nanolayer before absorber layer shows improved Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) absorber crystallinity, more compact, larger grain sizes morphology with fewer pinholes. Further, the CZTSSe device with optimum deposition time (154 sec) of CAO nanolayer successfully reduced Mo(S,Se)2 layer thickness from ~50 nm to ~25 nm. The fabricated CZTSSe device with optimized CAO nanolayer exhibits higher shunt resistance (Rsh), and lower series resistance (Rs) which resulted in improved short-circuit density (Jsc) from 33.48 to 35.40 mA/cm2 compared to the reference device (without CAO nanolayer). The optimized CZTSSe device with CAO nanolayer showed a PCE of 10.54% compared to 9.67% for the reference device (without CAO). This work suggests that a further optimized CAO nanolayer can largely influence the CZTSSe absorber and back electrode interface quality which may further significantly improve the PCE of kesterite CZTSSe TFSCs.
