      • Performance Improvement of Hybrid Search Engine for Wide and Sparse Rules

        Keiko Endo,Yuji Yano,Shingo Ata,Ikuo Oka 대한전자공학회 2017 대한전자공학회 학술대회 Vol.2017 No.1

Network equipment uses hardware-based search methods for high-speed classification. In future networks, it is expected search hardware needs to find an entry from a large table which contains complex rules. Today, TCAM (Ternary Content Addressable Memory) is used widely as a search hardware in high-speed routers. However, it is difficult to increase the capacity of TCAM. We have proposed MDSE (Multi-Dimensional Search Engine) architecture that can search the large table with power saving. MDSE can be configured by a combination of the different search components. A component of MDSE needs search binary values in power saving. In this paper, we propose TACT (The Advanced Conceptional TCAM) structure optimized for binary long key search. TACT can be applied to a search block of MDSE. We implement MDSE configured by TACT on FPGA, and evaluate that the power consumption of TACT is 7.63 mA per 4 Kbits. Furthermore, we propose TT-HSE (TCAM + TACT Hybrid Search Engine) as MDSE configured by TCAM and TACT. We show that TT-HSE reduces the power consumption by 57.9% compared with MD-TCAM, using TACT performance and the table data generated by Classbenchv6 dataset.

      • A Class of Multiuser Interference Free Modulations Produced by General Orthogonal Modulations

Yasunaga, Takashi,Oka, Ikuo,Ata, Shingo,Fujiwara, Chikato 통신위성우주산업연구회 2004 Joint Conference on Satellite Communications Vol.2004 No.-

Suppression of multiuser interference effects in a frequency-selective fading channel is big issue in mobile communication system. In this paper, a parameter of modulations is discussed to develop new modulations which do not yield multiuser interference in CDMA. The modulations are shown to be in a certain class of general orthogonal modulations. The general orthogonal modulations are based on orthogonal vectors, which are obtained by multidimensional rotations and have parameters of rotation planes and rotation angles. We find the parameters of general orthogonal modulations that preserves orthogonality among users in the frequency-selective channel. The derived parameters express the new modulations, whose transfer matrices are expressed by a Kronecker product of two rotation matrices. We obtain the parameters that maximize constellation distance by computer simulations. Numerical results of distance are demonstrated to compare the performance of widely used CDMA and the new modulations proposed in this paper.

Realization of Mobility-Controlled Flying Router in Information-Centric Networking

        Yuhao Gao,Taku Kitagawa,Suyong Eum,Shingo Ata,Masayuki Murata 한국통신학회 2018 Journal of communications and networks Vol.20 No.5

Constructing a large-scale network in outdoor fieldswith wired or wireless antennas involves a huge deployment cost. New devices, called movable routers, are able to realize the networksat a low cost. Recently, a large number of internet of thingsnodes have been deployed into the networks in outdoor fields. Inthe current communication network, users intend to communicatewith devices without knowing where they are, but the currentnetwork still focuses on device locations, complicating configurationand implementation of the network. In this study, we designan architecture called router-movable information-centric networking(RMICN) to realize content-based communication insteadof host-based communication, for facilitating communications betweendisjointed networks using movable routers. We incorporateinformation-centric networking technologies in the design of thesystem for the naming scheme and the strategy layer, enabling devicecontrol over the movable routers, called flying routers. In thesimulation results, we show that RMICN can further reduce the responsetime of content requests compared with delay-tolerant networking. Furthermore, we present a proof-of-concept implementationof the architecture to confirm the feasibility of the design.
