An efficient and easy-to-implement procedure for the globally convergent homotopy method for nonlinear optimization is discussed in this paper. An envelope function is used to augment multiple inequality constraints so that difficult active set strategy can be avoided. The procedure is applied for a simple constrained minimization problem, and its convergency is tested for different values of an envelope function parameter. The results indicates that for a large value of the parameter, fast convergence is achieved, but it could result in large errors in the solution. The paper also demonstrates application to optimal design of one-ring stiffened shells. A sequence of optimal designs has been obtained as a function of external hydrostatic pressure. It is seen from the results that the single ring-stiffener works more effectively at lower levels of pressure.

Green tea was known which regulated adipocyte differentiation metabolism. The mecha nism on the lipid decreased contents of TAG in the plasma. In addition, green tea increased the expression leptin mRNA, PPAR δ mRNA and TGF β. The tea tested was korean powdered green tea. In this experiment, Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were fed 3 % green tea(powdered) for 3 weeks on the basal diet and obese diet and green tea grouts-fed pork meats, duck meats. The expression of leptin mRNA and PPAR δ mRNA were up-regulated in the green tea-fed groups compared with those of the not green tea-fed groups. There were no significantly difference on the expression of leptin mRNA and PPAR δ mRNA in green tea grouts-fed pork meats, duck meats as compared with the not fed green tea grouts meats. TGF β mRNA, TNF α mRNA and adipsin mRNA were not expressed in the pork meats, duck meats. The expression of TGF β mRNA, TNF α mRNA and adipsin mRNA were observed in the experimental rats but no significantly difference on the contents. Physiologic regulated genes were not expressed in the green tea grout-fed pork meats and duck meats.
Induction of Apoptosis and Inhibition of Invasion in Human Hepatoma Cells by Anthocyanins from Meoru

<P>Anthocyanins belong to a class of flavonoids exhibiting antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions as well as a variety of chemotherapeutic effects. However, little is known about the cellular and molecular mechanism of anticancer activity. In this study, we investigated if the anthocyanins (delphinidin-3,5-diglucoside: cyanidin-3,5-diglucoside: petunidin-3,5-diglucoside: delphinidin-3-glucoside: malvdin-3,5-diglucoside: peonidin-3,5-diglucoside: cyanidin-3-glucoside: petunidin-3-glucoside: peonidin-3- glucoside: malvidin-3- glucoside = 27: 63: 8.27: 1:2.21: 6.7: 1.25: 5.72: 1.25) isolated from meoru (Vitis coignetiae Pulliat) exerted antiproliferative and anti-invasive and apoptotic effects on human hepatoma Hep3B cells. It was found that the anthocyanins could inhibit cell growth by 75% at the concentration of 400 microg/mL for 48 h. Flow cytometric analysis showed that the anthocyanins increased the amount of DNA fragments (sub-G1 fraction) in a dose-dependent manner, which is closely related to mitochondrial dysfunction and reduction in antiapoptotic proteins (Bcl-2, xIAP, cIAP-1, and cIAP-2). The anthocyanins also significantly inhibited the migration and invasion of Hep3B cells through a matrigel-coated chamber. Taken together this study indicates that the anthocyanins from meoru have antiproliferative and anti-invasive effects and may induce apoptosis through the activation of the mitochondrial pathway and inhibition of antiapoptotic proteins. This study provides evidence that the anthocyanins isolated from meoru might be useful in the treatment of human hepatitis B-associated hepatoma.</P>
Development of 3D Terrain Visualization for Navigation Simulation using a Unity 3D Development Tool

3D visualization of navigation simulation is to visualize the environment conditions (e.g. nearby ships, dynamic characteristics, environment, terrain, etc) for any users on ships at sea. Realistic 3D visualization enables the users to be immersed to it and guarantees the reliability of the simulation. In particular, terrain visualization contains many virtual objects, so it is time and cost-intensive for object modelling. This paper proposes a 3D terrain visualization method that can be realized in a short time and with low cost by using the Unity 3D development tool. The 3D terrain visualization system requires bathymetric and elevation terrains, and Aids to Navigations (AtoNs) to be realized. It also needs to include 3D visualization objects including bridges, buildings and port facilities for more accurate simulation. Bathymetric and AtoN elements are acquired from ENC, and the elevation element is acquired from SRTM v4.1 digital elevation chart database developed by NASA. Then, the bathymetric and elevation terrains are generated, and the satellite images are superposed by using this terrain information. The longitudinal and latitudinal information of the AtoNs are converted to the 3-axis information to position the AtoN locations. The 3D objects such as bridges, buildings and port facilities are generated and the terrain visualization is completed. The proposed method realizes more realistic 3D terrain visualization of Busan Port.

In this paper, we address the preliminary design considerations to develop a motor-operated valve (MOV) actuator. Both a lead compensator (LC) and a linear proportional-derivative (PD) controller are considered as a tool for controlling the opening and closing of a valve. The LC is designed using the frequency response characteristics to satisfy the given design specifications. The PD controller with a first-order filter in the denominator is optimally tuned so that a genetic algorithm (GA) minimizes an objective function. There is nonlinear saturation in the valve due to its physical structure and the signals applied to the motor are limited. To assess the stability of the overall feedback system when one of the designed controllers is used in operations in a nonlinear section, this study applies Popov’s stability criterion. Simulation works are performed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
Design Optimization of Blade Stiffened Laminated Composite Plates

중립축에 대하여 대칭인 보강된 적층평판의 좌굴하중을 극대화 하는 최적설계를 시도하였다. 전체 평판의 무게가 일정한 가운데 적층평판을 이루는 각기 판의 두께와 보강재의 단면을 이루는 두께와 높이를 설계변수로 취하였다. 유한요소법을 이용하여 평판의 좌굴하중이 계산되었으며 최적설계는 IMSL program routine을 사용하였다. 최적설계시 나타나는 optimality condition이 고도의 비선형 연립방정식이 되므로 이경우 여러개의 국부 최적점이 발견되었다. 보강재와 평판의 각층에서의 보강섬유의 방향을 달리하며 각자의 효율성을 연구 조사하였으며 이중($0^{\circ}Beam/0^{\circ}/90^{\circ}$)s인 경우에 사장 우수한 설계를 할수 있는것으로 나타났다. The buckling load of a blade stiffened laminated composite plate having midplane symmetry is maximized for a given total weight. The thicknesses of the layers and the width and height of the stiffener are taken as the design variables. Buckling analysis is carried out using a finite element method. The optimization problem is solved using an IMSL subroutine. Due to the highly nonlinear nature of the optimality equations, several local optimum solutions are found. Various combinations of fiber orientation for the laminate layers and the blade stiffener are investigated to examine their relative efficiency. Out of several cases examined, the best design was produced from the combination of ($0^{\circ}Beam/0^{\circ}/90^{\circ}$)s.

Background: Primary testicular diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a kind of rare but aggressive extranodal lymphoma. Relapse in central nervous system (CNS) is majorconcerns in the treatment of primary testicular DLBCL. However, the role of intrathecal prophylaxis is still controversial issue. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 14 patients with primary testicular DLBCL diagnosed between November 2000 and June 2012. We analyzed CNS relapse rate in the patients treated without intrathecal prophylaxis. Survival curves were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Results: The median age at diagnosis was 57 years (range, 41-79 years). Unilateral testicular involvement was observed in 13 patients. Nine (64. 3%) patients were in stage I, 1 in stage II, and 4 in stage IV. The international prognostic index was low or low-intermediate risk in 12 patients, and high-intermediate risk in 2 patients. Thirteen patients underwent orchiectomy. All of the patients received systemic chemotherapy without intrathecal prophylaxis. And, prophylactic radiotherapy was administered to the contralateral testis in 12 patients. The median follow-up period of surviving patients was 39 months (10-139 months). Median overall survival had not been reached and median progression-free survival was 3. 8 years. Four patients experienced relapse, but CNS relapse was observed in only one patient (7. 1%) with stage IV disease at 27 months after a complete response. Conclusions: Even without intrathecal prophylaxis, the rate of relapse in the CNS appears not to be high in Korean patients with primary testicular DLBCL compared with prior reports.
SNS상에서 하이브리드 협업적 여과 기법을 이용한 전문가 추천 기법 설계

최근 다양한 직업을 가진 SNS 사용자가 증가함에 따라, SNS 사용자들은 전문가 간 협업 및 기술적 의사소통을 위한 전문가 추천 기능을 요구하고 있다. 하지만 기존 협업적 여과 기법은 전문가 추천 서비스를 효율적으로 제공하지 못한다. Content-boosted 협업적 여과 기법은 다양한 예측 알고리즘을 제시하여, 효과적인 추천을 수행할 수 있도록 지원한다. 그러나 명확한 계산 조건이 제시되지 못하는 경우 아이템 및 사용자 유사도 계산을 수행할 수 없는 단점이 존재한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Content-boosted 협업적 여과 기법의 단점을 해결하는 하이브리드 협업적 여과기법을 이용한 새로운 전문가 추천기법을 제안한다. 또한, 이를 이용하여 SNS에서의 전문가 추천 시스템을 설계한다.
