Co@Pt (Co-core, Pt-shell) 4–10 nm sized particles supported on functionalized multi-walled carbonnanotubes (MWCNTs) have been synthesized and tested as efficient catalyst in direct methanol fuel cells(DMFCs). Catalytic activity and durability of all the catalysts for methanol oxidation (MO) have beenstudied in basic medium (0.5 M KOH) using cyclic voltammetry (CV). Chronoamperometry studiesrevealed that Co@Pt/MWCNTs has significantly high efficiency and stability than both Pt/MWCNTs andCo@Pt/MWCNTs catalysts. Mass activity exhibited by Co@Pt/MWCNTs for MO is 1.61 and 3.36 timeshigher than those of Pt–Co/MWCNTs and Pt/MWCNTs, respectively.
Enhanced Magnetic Moment of Epitaxial Υ´-Fe4N Films at Low Temperature
Shahid Atiq,Murtaza Saleem,Shahid M. Ramay,Saadat A. Siddiqi,M. Sabieh Anwar,신성철 한국물리학회 2012 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.60 No.10
Ferromagnetic iron nitride has fascinated the researchers owing to its amazing magnetic properties for spintronic applications. We have prepared single phase epitaxial thin films of Υ´-Fe4N on single crystal MgO(100) substrates using dc magnetron sputtering. X-ray diffraction revealed that substrate temperature and annealing time were most important parameters for single phase epitaxial growth of the films. Atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were utilized to investigate the surface morphology of the films. Angle dependent magnetic anisotropy was observed in epitaxial thin films of Υ´-Fe4N. A superconducting interference device was utilized to explore the magnetic and electrical behavior of Υ´-Fe4N films at low temperatures.
A Step towards the Improvement in the Performance of Text Classification
( Shahid Hussain ),( Muhammad Rafiq Mufti ),( Muhammad Khalid Sohail ),( Humaira Afzal ),( Ghufran Ahmad ),( Arif Ali Khan ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2019 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.13 No.4
The performance of text classification is highly related to the feature selection methods. Usually, two tasks are performed when a feature selection method is applied to construct a feature set; 1) assign score to each feature and 2) select the top-N features. The selection of top-N features in the existing filter-based feature selection methods is biased by their discriminative power and the empirical process which is followed to determine the value of N. In order to improve the text classification performance by presenting a more illustrative feature set, we present an approach via a potent representation learning technique, namely DBN (Deep Belief Network). This algorithm learns via the semantic illustration of documents and uses feature vectors for their formulation. The nodes, iteration, and a number of hidden layers are the main parameters of DBN, which can tune to improve the classifier’s performance. The results of experiments indicate the effectiveness of the proposed method to increase the classification performance and aid developers to make effective decisions in certain domains.
Ad-Hoc Behavior in Opportunistic Radio
Shahid Mumtaz,Paulo Marques,Atilio Gameiro,Jonathan Rodriguez 한국통신학회 2009 Journal of communications and networks Vol.11 No.2
The application of mathematical analysis to the study of wireless ad hoc networks has met with limited success due to the complexity of mobility, traffic models and the dynamic topology. A scenario based universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) time division duplex (TDD) opportunistic cellular system with an ad hoc behaviour that operates over UMTS frequency division duplex (FDD) licensed cellular network is considered. In this paper, we present a new routing metric which overall improves system performance in terms of interference and routing which operate in an ad hoc network in an opportunistic manner. Therefore we develop a simulation tool that addresses the goal of analysis and assessment of UMTS TDD opportunistic radio system with ad hoc behavior in coexistence with a UMTS FDD primary cellular networks.
A Smart Framework for Mobile Botnet Detection Using Static Analysis
( Shahid Anwar ),( Mohamad Fadli Zolkipli ),( Vitaliy Mezhuyev ),( Zakira Inayat ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.6
Botnets have become one of the most significant threats to Internet-connected smartphones. A botnet is a combination of infected devices communicating through a command server under the control of botmaster for malicious purposes. Nowadays, the number and variety of botnets attacks have increased drastically, especially on the Android platform. Severe network disruptions through massive coordinated attacks result in large financial and ethical losses. The increase in the number of botnet attacks brings the challenges for detection of harmful software. This study proposes a smart framework for mobile botnet detection using static analysis. This technique combines permissions, activities, broadcast receivers, background services, API and uses the machine-learning algorithm to detect mobile botnets applications. The prototype was implemented and used to validate the performance, accuracy, and scalability of the proposed framework by evaluating 3000 android applications. The obtained results show the proposed framework obtained 98.20% accuracy with a low 0.1140 false-positive rate.
Short Communication Antinociceptive activity of Avicennia officinalis
Shahid, IZ,Karmakar, D,Sadhu, SK,Ahmed, F Kyung Hee Oriental Medicine Research Center 2007 Oriental pharmacy and experimental medicine Vol.7 No.1
The crude ethanol extract of leaves of Avicennia officinalis Linn. (Family: Avicenniaceae) was screened for its antinociceptive activity. The extract produced significant writhing inhibition in acetic acid-induced writhing in mice at the oral dose of 250 and 500 mg/kg body weight (P < 0.001) comparable to the standard drug diclofenac sodium at the dose of 25 mg/kg of body weight. The result tends to suggest the antinociceptive activity of the extract.

Shahid Mubeen,Kottakkaran Sooppy Nisar,Gauhar Rahman,Muhammad Arshad 호남수학회 2019 호남수학학술지 Vol.41 No.4
In this paper, we establish the log convexity and Tur\'{a}n type inequalities of extended $(p,q)$-beta functions. Likewise, we present the log-convexity, the monotonicity and Tur\'{a}n type inequalities for extended $(p,q)$-confluent hypergeometric function by utilizing the inequalities of extended $(p,q)$-beta functions.
