Ferromagnetic iron nitride has fascinated the researchers owing to its amazing magnetic properties for spintronic applications. We have prepared single phase epitaxial thin films of Υ´-Fe4N on single crystal MgO(100) substrates using dc magnetron sputtering. X-ray diffraction revealed that substrate temperature and annealing time were most important parameters for single phase epitaxial growth of the films. Atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were utilized to investigate the surface morphology of the films. Angle dependent magnetic anisotropy was observed in epitaxial thin films of Υ´-Fe4N. A superconducting interference device was utilized to explore the magnetic and electrical behavior of Υ´-Fe4N films at low temperatures.

Co@Pt (Co-core, Pt-shell) 4–10 nm sized particles supported on functionalized multi-walled carbonnanotubes (MWCNTs) have been synthesized and tested as efficient catalyst in direct methanol fuel cells(DMFCs). Catalytic activity and durability of all the catalysts for methanol oxidation (MO) have beenstudied in basic medium (0.5 M KOH) using cyclic voltammetry (CV). Chronoamperometry studiesrevealed that Co@Pt/MWCNTs has significantly high efficiency and stability than both Pt/MWCNTs andCo@Pt/MWCNTs catalysts. Mass activity exhibited by Co@Pt/MWCNTs for MO is 1.61 and 3.36 timeshigher than those of Pt–Co/MWCNTs and Pt/MWCNTs, respectively.

The present study investigates the potential economic impacts of India-Korea CEPA using partial and general equilibrium analysis. This study more specifically looked at consumer surplus, trade creation and diversion results as well as the impact on tariff revenues. The study indicates positive effect of CEPA on consumer surplus, trade and investment flows, and negative effect on tariff revenues. The study recommends diversifying the tax base and developing alternative less distortionary revenue generating strategy to compensate the tariff revenue loss. The study further suggests strengthening the national capacity to limit rent capturing capacity of importers and exporters so that the consumers can draw the benefits of CEPA. Overall CGE based assessment of FTA in goods is not encouraging for India as the welfare is expected to decline. Finally, unique selling point of this CEPA for India is the increased inflows of Korean FDI and hence lots of efforts are needed in this regard.

With the growing global concern about climate change, relationship between carbon stock density and tree species has become important for international climate change mitigation programmes. In this study, 150 Quadrats were laid down to assess the diversity, biomass and carbon stocks in each of the forest ranges (Barkot Range, Lachchiwala Range and Thano Range) of Dehra Dun Forest Division in Doon Valley, Western Himalaya, India. Community level carbon stock density was analyzed using Two Way Indicator Species Analysis. Species Richness and Shannon Weiner index was correlated with the carbon stocks of Doon Valley. Positive and weak relationship was found between the carbon stock density and Shannon Weiner Index, and between carbon stock density and Species Richness.
Pharmacological studies on roots of Achyranthes aspera Linn

The crude methanol extract of the roots of Achyranthes aspera Linn. was investigated for its possible antinociceptive, diuretic and neuropharmacological activities in animal models. At the dose of 250 and 500 mg/kg body weight, the extract showed a significant antinociceptive effect in acetic acid induced-writhing in mice comparable to that produced by diclofenac sodium, used as standard drug. The crude extract produced significant diuretic effect at the dose of 500 mg/kg of body weight comparable to that produced by furosemide, used as standard drug. The extract also potentiated significantly the pentobarbital induced sleeping time in mice; decreased the open field score in open field test, decreased the number of hole crossed from one chamber in the hole cross test and decreased the head dip responses. The obtained results provide a support for the use of this plant in traditional medicine and its further investigation.

Wheat bran (WB) is an abundant source of fiber, promoting the health for constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastrointestinal disorders. However, the role of superfine-WB in improving the obesity, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia needs to be revealed. The superfine- WB (low and high treatments) was studied on body-weight, blood sugar, serum, and liver lipids in a high-fat rat model for 5-weeks. The high-fat diet substantially increased bodyweight, sugar levels, lipids, and malondialdehyde in serum and liver. In contrast, the superfine-WB treatments reduced food and energy intake, postprandial glucose, body-weight, blood and liver cholesterol, triglycerides, malondialdehyde, low-density lipoprotein, and increased the level of highdensity lipoprotein. Additionally, when the two different concentrations were compared, the maximum impact was exhibited by the superfine-WB containing high concentration. These results suggest that the superfine-WB significantly improves the hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, and possibly also protecting against other acute, recurrent, or chronic diseases.

This review intends to synthesize our understanding of the effects of novel approach of non-invasive peripheral nerve and brain stimulation techniques in motor rehabilitation and the potential role of these techniques in clinical practice. The ability to induce cortical plasticity with non-invasive stimulation techniques has provided novel and exciting opportunities for examining the role of the human cortex during a variety of behaviors literature concerning non-invasive stimulation technique incorporated into stroke research is young, limiting the ability to draw consistent conclusions. In this review we discuss how these techniques can enhance the effects of a behavioral intervention and the clinical evidence for its use to date.
Towards Program Risk Management and Perceived Risk Management Barriers
Shahid Rasheed,Wang ChangFeng,Faiza Yaqub 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.5
This paper seeks to investigate the concepts of risk management and its implications for program management discipline. It highlights the distinctions of programs over projects and discusses why programs are more risky. Further, based on relevant descriptions and findings from respective literatures, we report a number of perceived barriers en route for risk management implementation on ground; we also discuss the reasons and rationales behind such infirmities. Dominant factors causingunderprivileged risk management are classified into four prime categories: resource constraints, contextual restrictions, learning imperfections and human limitations. An empirical survey-based study conducted from Pakistan telecom professionals discovers that monetary constraints, schedule compels, unstable organizational environment, lack of executive’s commitment towards risk, and deficit of risk-aware culture are the topmost barriers that impede the implementation of risk management in large-scale telecom programs in the country. The concepts defined in the early parts of this study will enable the practitioners to understand the program risk management subject in enhanced ways, while the findings delineatedlater can equip the relevant stakeholders with better learning of affairs prevalent in Pakistan telecom industry; this may also aid policy makers in instigating corrective actions.
