Six New Species of the Genus Promalactis Meyrick (Lepidoptera, Oecophoridae) from Vietnam
Sora Kim,Kyu-Tek Park,Bong-Kyu Byun,Seunghwan Lee 한국응용곤충학회 2010 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2010 No.05
The genus Promalctis Meyrick, 1908 is the largest genus of the family Oecophoridae, with more than 150 described species in the world (Wang et al., 2009; Du et al., 2009). The genus is mainly distributed in the Palaearctic and Oriental regions, probably with the highest diversity in the South and East Asia. However it has been very poorly studied to date, with only with only 4 publications which were based on very limited collecting. In total, 76 were reported from China, which is more than half of the known species in the Palaearctic region(Wang, 2006; Du et al., 2009), 14 species known from Korea (Park & Park, 1998), 12 species from Japan (Fujusawa, 2002), 8 species from Russian Far East (Lvovsky, 1976, 1985, 1986), and 3 species from Nepal (Lvovsky, 2000a). In the Oriental region, since Meyrick (1908a, 1908b) described 14 species from India and Myanmar, Lvovsky (2000a, 2000b) described 25 additional species from the southern Asia, including the southern part of China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. In Vietnam, only 4 species, Promalactis albiapicalis Lvovsky 1997, P. buonluoi Lvovsky 1997, P. fansipanella Lvovsky 2007, and P. suzukiella (Matsumura 1931), have been described to date(Lvovsky, 1997, 2007a). The aim of this study is to describe six new species of Promalactis based on material mainly collected in the northern part of Vietnam. Adults, head parts, wing venations, and the male or female genitalia of the new species are illustrated.

Myocarditis and/or pericarditis have been reported as adverse events following coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) messenger RNA vaccination, with most cases occurring within 1 week after the second dose. We report a rare case of myocarditis after the first dose of the BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech) COVID-19 vaccine in a 17-year-old boy. Here, we describe the laboratory, electrocardiographic, and imaging findings of myocarditis.
Anisotropic X-ray Rocking Curve Due to a Damaged Surface Layer in a Freestanding GaN Thick Film

The structural deformation of freestanding GaN film has been investigated. The specimen was grown on an Al2O3 substrate by using hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE) and was self-detached during the growth. the atomic force microscopy (AFM) image showed much mechanical damages on the surface, which was presumably generated by the surface polishing process. After chemical etching, the near-band-edge to yellow-band (NBE/YB) luminescence intensity ratio was greatly increased. Also, using high resolution X-ray diraction (HRXRD), we found that the 2-! scan of (0002) reflection asymmetrically broadened at low diraction angles, which indicated that a damaged surface layer existed in the film with residual compressive strain. Moreover, a more detailed X-ray analysis showed that the surface had a concave curvature. We concluded that structural distortion of GaN could induce a serious deformation, which could aect not only the structural but also the optical and the electrical properties of the film.

The weathering of pyrite-rich andesite in the southeastern part of Korea has led to acid rock drainage, creating severe environmental problems in the region. In this study, the mineral compositions and geochemical mobility of heavy metals in the bedrock, in addition to the weathering products, are investigated. Samples of bedrock and weathering products were collected from two sites in the Yangsan area. Site 2 shows considerably more weathering than site 1, due to the longer duration of weathering. The mineral compositions show that the bedrock at site 2 was more heavily altered by hydrothermal activity. The weathering products at site 2 contain jarosite and goethite with lower pH values than site 1, in which the samples are buffered by calcite. This indicates that the mineral compositions and pH values of the weathering products at the two sites are influenced by the primary mineral compositions of the bedrock and the duration of weathering. With the exception of Pb, the concentrations of heavy metals at site 1 are higher than those at site 2, probably due to higher concentrations in the bedrock. Moreover, the labile and acid-soluble fractions, which can be more readily released into the environment, are higher at site 1, mainly due to the shorter duration of weathering. Accordingly, the weathering process at site 1 carries more potential hazards to the environment than that at site 2. However, chemical weathering is locally impeded by calcite buffering at site 1. Although the concentrations of heavy metals at site 2 are lower than those at site 1, they are being continuously released due to the lower pH and longer and more and extensive weathering.

Expanded Guide Circle-based Obstacle Avoidance for the Remotely Operated Mobile Robot
Park, Seunghwan,Kim, Gon-Woo The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2014 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.9 No.3
For the remote operation of the mobile robot, the human operator depends fully on the sensory information which is the partial information of the workspace of the mobile robot. It is usually very hard to fully manually operate the mobile robot in this situation. We propose the efficient guidance navigation method for improving the efficiency of the remote operation with the expanded guide circle using the sensory information. The guidance command is generated from the proposed algorithm using the expanded guide circle. We evaluated the performance of the proposed algorithm using the experiments.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder associated with impaired social behavior and communication, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests. In addition to genetic factors, environmental factors such as prenatal drug exposure contribute to the development of ASD. However, how those prenatal factors induce behavioral deficits in the adult stage is not clear. To elucidate ASD pathogenesis at the molecular level, we performed a high-resolution mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomic analysis on the prefrontal cortex (PFC) of mice exposed to valproic acid (VPA) in utero, a widely used animal model of ASD. Differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) in VPA-exposed mice showed significant overlap with ASD risk genes, including differentially expressed genes from the postmortem cortex of ASD patients. Functional annotations of the DEPs revealed significant enrichment in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which is dysregulated by the upregulation of Rnf146 in VPA-exposed mice. Consistently, overexpressing Rnf146 in the PFC impaired social behaviors and altered the Wnt signaling pathway in adult mice. Furthermore, Rnf146-overexpressing PFC neurons showed increased excitatory synaptic transmission, which may underlie impaired social behavior. These results demonstrate that Rnf146 is critical for social behavior and that dysregulation of Rnf146 underlies social deficits in VPA-exposed mice.
