        敎室と社會をつなげる交流學習實踐コミュニティは何を目指すのか ─外國語敎育における<擴張型交流學習>の可能性─

        外國語敎育における交流學習は、交流自體を目的とした學習や交流という場を活用した深化學習、さらには交流相手との協動學習など、敎室と敎室の外のつながりの中で學びを實現してきた。しかし、外國語敎育において交流學習はいまだ浸透しているとは言えない。その理由として、例えば日韓交流學習では、實踐したくても交流相手が見つからない、學習をデザインする方法がわからないなどの敎師の聲が聞かれる。そこで、日韓兩國の日本語敎育、韓國語敎育に携わる筆者らは、交流學習に關する敎師コミュニティを形成するために、日韓合同「交流學習」敎師硏修を行い、その成果と今後の課題を探った。硏修參加者を對象としたアンケ一トの分析結果からは、交流學習實踐コミュニティの形成に一定の成果が得られたことが明らかとなった。また、交流學習の單元案の分析結果からは、學校間交流學習に限定した單元案が多い中、敎室と社會との連續性を意識した擴張的學習の萌芽とも言えるものもデザインされていることが明らかとなった。筆者らはこの分析結果をもとに、今後、交流相手とともに樣々な職業、樣々な社會活動にかかわる人々と交流しながら學び合う<擴張型交流學習>とその實踐を支えるコミュニティづくりを目指すことにした。 The purpose of this article is to examine the significance of joint training in collaborative learning for foreign language teachers in Korea and Japan, and the roles and possibilities of communities of collaborative learning practice. Our two questions are as follows: (1) How did participants take the joint training? and (2) How did participants design the plans of collaborative learning? We gathered research data by having participants respond to a questionnaire survey and by having participants make lesson plans of collaborative learning. In this paper, we reported the findings and the conclusions. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the participants had a high level of motivation for forming communities of collaborative learning practices, and the results of the analysis of the lesson plans showed the possibilities of expansive learning in collaborative learning. We concluded that the communities of collaborative learning practices would aim for forming communities which would introduce expansive learning that collaborates not only with classmates of Japan and Korea but (also) with various kinds of people, not only with classmates of Japan and Korea.

        Redundant Control of a Planar Snake Robot with Prismatic Joints

        This paper presents a control method of a planar snake robot with prismatic joints. The kinematic model is derived considering velocity constraints caused by passive wheels. The proposed control method based on the model allows the robot to track a target trajectory by appropriately changing its link length using prismatic joints. The degrees of freedom of prismatic joints are represented as kinematic redundancy in the model and are used inrealizing subtasks such as singularity avoidance and obstacle avoidance. In addition, the link length is below its limit when introducing a sigmoid function into the kinematic model. Simulations are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and show a novel motion that avoids singular configurations through changes in link lengths.

        Mesoscopic-scale grain formation in HfO2-based ferroelectric thin films and its impact on electrical characteristics

        Ferroelectric memory devices are expected for low-power and high-speed memory applications. ­HfO 2 -based fer- roelectric is attracting attention for its CMOS-compatibility and high scalability. Mesoscopic-scale grains, of which size is almost comparable to device size, are formed in ­HfO 2 -based ferroelectric poly-crystalline thin films, which largely influences electrical characteristics in memory devices. It is important to study the impact of mesoscopic-scale grain formation on the electrical characteristics. In this work, first, we have studied the thickness dependence of the polarization switching kinetics in ­HfO 2 -based ferroelectric. While static low-frequency polarization is comparable for different thickness, dynamic polarization switching speed is slower in thin ­Hf 0.5 Zr 0.5 O 2 (HZO) capacitors. Based on the analysis using the NLS model and physical characterization, thinner HZO contains smaller grains with orientation non-uniformity and more grain boundaries than thicker HZO, which can impede macroscopic polarization switching. We have also theoretically and experimentally studied the polar-axis alignment of a ­HfO 2 -based ferroelectric thin film. While in-plane polar orientation is stable in as-grown HZO, out-of-plane polarization can be dominant by applying electric field, which indicates the transition from in-plane polar to out-of-plane polar orientation in the ferroelectric phase grains. This is confirmed by calculating kinetic pathway using ab-initio calculation.

        일본인 대학생과의 교류를 도입한 작문 수업 -『외국어학습 목표』에 근거한 실천 보고-

        한국의 경기도 소재 S대학교 일어일문학과에서는 "일본에 사는 일본인 대학생에게 추천할 한국 관광 계획을 세우고 팸플릿을 만들자"라는 단원 목표 아래,미야기현에 있는 M여자대학교 일본인 대학생과 교류를 하면서 작문 수업을 하였다. 본고에서는 두 학교 간의 교류 학습에 대한 소개와 함께 한국인 일본어학습자가 어떤 학습 성과를 거둘 수 있었는지에 대해서 고찰하였다. 그리고 본고와 같은 형태의 교류 학습의 의의와 과제에 대해서도 검토하였다. 본 실천은 일본국제문화교류재단(TJF)이 제창하고 있는 『외국어학습 목표』에 근거하였다. 고찰 결과 일본인 대학생과의 교류를 통하여 언어적 문화적 측면에 관한 학습효과를 보였고, ICT를 이용한 정보 수집과 상대방을 배려한 원고 작성, 적극적인 협동 작업 등에서 긍정적인 학습 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 반면 정보를 객관적으로 분석하거나 나라를 넘은 시각을 갖는다는 점에 대해서는 충분한 성과가 보이지 않았다. 또한, 학습자의 코멘트에서 배움을 추측한다는 본 연구의 분석방법에도 과제를 남겼다. This paper reports on the practices of writing classes that adopt interactive activities with Japanese university students who study in Japanese language teaching courses. This writing class was conducted at S university, located in Kyongi-do, Korea. The practices were designed based on “A Standard of Studying Foreign Languages,” which was presented in The Japan Forum with the goal of "making a pamphlet about Seoul which is useful when Japanese students travel Korea.” During the course, the students exchanged e-mails, pictures, and had a conversation session using Skype. This paper investigates the effectiveness of these practices by analyzing comments by the Korean Japanese language students who participated in them. Since the standard suggests three important learning areas, the language area, the cultural area, and the global area, this report analyzes the comments by Korean Japanese language students based on these three points of view. The results show that the students who participated in the writing class raised their language and cultural competence.

        Association of a polymorphism of BTN2A1 with myocardial infarction in East Asian populations

        Objective: We have performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) to identify genetic variants that confer susceptibility to myocardial infarction (MI) in Japanese and Korean populations. Methods: A total of 17,447 Japanese or Korean individuals from four independent subject panels was examined. Japanese subject panels A, B, and C comprised 134 individuals with MI and 137 controls, 1431 individuals with MI and 3161 controls, and 643 individuals with MI and 1347 controls, respectively, whereas the Korean population comprised 1880 individuals with MI and 8714 controls. A GWAS for MI was performed in Japanese subject panel A with the use of the Affymetrix GeneChip Human Mapping 500K Array Set. Results: Seventy single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) significantly (P<1.0x10<SUP>-7</SUP>) associated with MI by the GWAS were examined further in Japanese subject panel B, revealing two SNPs (rs6929846 of BTN2A1, rs2569512 of ILF3) to be significantly (P<0.0007) associated with MI. The rs6929846 SNP of BTN2A1, but not rs2569512 of ILF3, was also significantly associated with MI in Japanese subject panel C. However, the association of neither rs6929846 nor rs2569512 with MI was replicated in the Korean population. Conclusion: BTN2A1 may be a susceptibility gene for MI in Japanese individuals.

      • Association Analysis of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms in miR-146a and miR-196a2 on the Prevalence of Cancer in Elderly Japanese: A Case-Control Study

        Background: Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) affecting microRNA (miR) sequences may influence carcinogenesis. Our current study primarily aimed to confirm previously conducted association studies between rs2910164 found on miR-146a, and rs11614913 located on miR-196a2 polymorphisms and cancer phenotypes in the Japanese elderly population. rs2910164 (G/C) and rs11614913 (T/C) polymorphisms were determined by genotyping on the samples collected from 1,351 consecutive autopsy cases registered in the Japanese SNPs for geriatric research (JG-SNP) data base. Cancer samples were systematically reviewed, pathologically verified and assessed with respect to miR-146a and miR-196a2 genotypic variation. The current study covered 726 males and 625 females with a mean age of $80.3{\pm}8.9$ years. The study included 524 subjects without cancer and 827 subjects with at least one type of cancer, such as gastric (n=160), lung (n=148), colorectal (n=116) or others. Males with cancers (n=467) were more numerous than females (n=360). Both rs11614913 (CT: TT adjusted odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence interval (95%CI)=0.98 (0.75-1.28), p=0.873, CC: TT adjusted OR (95%CI)=1.06 (0.76-1.47), p=0.737, CT+CC: TT, adjusted OR (95%CI)=0.99 (0.77-1.29), p=0.990), and rs2910164 (CG: CC adjusted OR (95%CI)=1.12 (0.87-1.44), p=0.383, GG: CC adjusted OR (95%CI)=1.03 (0.71-1.48), p=0.887, CG+GG: CC adjusted OR (95%CI)=1.10 (0.87-1.39), p=0.446) polymorphisms did not show significant association with overall cancer in all subjects. However, "CC" genotype in rs11614913 polymorphism was significantly associated with increased gastric cancer (n=160) in all subjects (CC: CT+TT, adjusted OR (95%CI)=1.50 (1.02-2.22), p=0.040). We found that rs11614913 and rs2910164 do not pose general cancer risk, but rs11614913 may influence gastric cancer in Japanese elderly population. Confirmation of our study results requires further investigations with larger subject populations.
