        『 원씨물어(겐지모노가타리)』 의 일고찰 : 꿈의 기능을 중심으로 Focus on the function of deram

        『겐지이야기』(『源氏物語』)에 나오는「夢」의 用例를 그 機能的特徵에 의하여,「遊離魂」「宿世」「靈驗」및「기타」로 나누어 고찰한 바, 다음과 같은 사실을 알 수 있었다. 첫째, 꿈은 幽界와 顯界를 연결시키는 回路로써, 幽界에 존재하는 사람의 遊離魂은 꿈을 통해 출현해, 나름대로의 意志表現을 하고 있다. 遊離魂 중 生者의 경우는 한결같이 남녀관계에서 오는 갈등이 遊離의 원인으로 되고 있고, 본인들은 그 遊離를 자각하지 못하고 있다. 死者의 경우는 祖靈的인 것과 怨靈的인 것이 있는데, 桐壺院만은 양면성을 공유하고 있는 점이 특징적이다. 또한 꿈에 나타난 死者의 魂은 罪障이나 現世의 집착때문에 成佛하지 못하고 있는 魂으로서, 鎭魂을 위한 佛敎的 追善供養이 후손에 의해 행해지고 있다. 둘째, 꿈은 予言처럼 헤아릴 수 없는 宿世를 告知한다. 특히 明石入道는 꿈을 통해 알게 된 자신의 宿世를 철저히 믿음으로서 家門의 榮華를 개척했다. 작자는 장편화를 도모하는 한편으로 受領의 家系에서 東宮이 탄생했다는 비현실적인 사건에 필연성을 부여하는 수법으로서 이 꿈을 활용했다고 생각한다. 셋째, 꿈은 神佛의 託宣의 주요 경로로써 住吉神이나 長谷觀音은 꿈을 통해 靈驗을 示現해서 源氏나 浮舟를 구제했다. 특히 長谷觀音은 靈驗이 뚜렷한 觀音으로 인식되었기 때문에 사람들은 꿈의 啓示를 받으려고 長谷寺에 모여들었다. 이처럼 꿈은 마치 현실과 같이 신뢰되었던 것이다.

        COMPARISON OF UTILIZATION OF CELLULOSE AND CORN DIETARY FIBER AS AN ENERGY SOURCE IN CHICKS

        An experiment was conducted to investigate effects of fiber source on growth performance, N and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) digestibility, and utilization of energy in chicks fed an isocaloric low-energy diet from 7 to 21 days of age. Two fiber sources, cellulose and corn dietary fiber (CDF), were included in a diet at 10, 20 and 30% at the expense of kaolin, an inert diluent. The CDF contained 76.5% NDF consisting mainly of hemicellulose. The results showed that growth performance, N and NDF digestibility, dietary DE and ME values, energy deposition, and NE for production in birds fed CDF were inferior to those in birds fed cellulose. It can be concluded, from the present study, that chicks can utilize cellulose more efficiently than CDF up to a level of 30%.

        <P>We demonstrate selective nitrogen doping on the outer tubes of double walled carbon nanotubes by nitrogen plasma treatment. Such selectivity improves the chemical activity of the outer tubes, including their wettability and oxygen reduction reaction properties, while retaining the structural, optical, and electrical properties of the inner tubes.</P>

        WHOLE-BODY PROTEIN TURNOVER IN GOATS ENHANCED BY SUPPLEMENTING A DIET WITH RUMEN PROTECTED METHIONINE

        Three experiments were conducted with female Japanese Saanen goats to investigate the effects of rumen protected methionine (RPMet) on N utilization and whole-body protein turnover. Whole-body leucine flux from which whole-body protein turnover rates were derived was measured by primed- continuous infusion of L-[$^{15}N$] leucine in combination with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Throughout the experiments RPMet was added to a diet to supply 1.5 g DL-methionine per goat per day. Irrespective of the major N sources (i.e., protein or urea) in the diet, both N deposition and whole-body protein synthesis were increased (p<0.05), and urinary N excretion was decreased (p<0.05) by supplementing with RPMet, but not by supplementing with methionine. It was concluded, therefore, that under the present experimental conditions, the RPMet supplement was efficiently bypassed to result in enhanced body protein synthesis of the goat.

        木棺墓 葬送儀禮의 復原 : 密陽校洞遺蹟을 中心으로

        The wooden coffin burial of funeral rite is one of actions which has strong symbol among the formal actions of the human behavior. In this report, focused on Milyang-gyodong site, I divided wooden coffin burial of funeral rite into four grades with studying the construction process of the wooden coffin and the aspect of arranged remains. In Milyang-gyodong site, the waist pit which fall into the first grade is only one, but any instruments didn"t discovered there, therewas no detail explanation so far. In the second grade, there is a rule that just one sword is buried in a single coffin and it is put near a head or waist of the buried. A small pottery appeared in the stage of the Wajil-pottery and various ironware were arranged outside the coffin. It is the reason that an item was limited by the narrow space between tomb and wooden coffin. The item arranged outside a coffin and in a coffin is different in a reversion object based on the difference of the aspect and conventional recognition. Because the item arranged in a coffin means representation of a social position of the buried, and outside a coffin was based on the principle of the community which administered funeral rite, I suppose these two people had two different professional abilities each. In the third grade, limitation in the space disappeared so Mumun-potteries and the large-sized of the Wajil-potteries as well as items which appeared in the second grade are discovered. Itis important that not many items of a single form are buried, but each of variety forms are buried. Then based on the number of items arranged in each stage, I confirmed about the progress of the funeral rite of wooden coffin burial. It is not so uniform but it has continuation, a limitation, stability and concentricity. Finally, I examined the planar position of item at each grade and grasped an aspect of the wooden coffin burial of of funeral rites from both sides of the solid and the plane.

        EFFECT OF BACTERIAL INOCULATION ON NEUTRAL DETERGENT FIBRE DIGESTION AND ENERGY AVAILABILITY IN GERM-FREE CHICKENS

        The present study was done to examine whether inoculated and established bacteria in the digestive tract of germ-free (GF) chickens affect growth performance, energy availability, nitrogen utilization and neutral detergent fibre (NDF) digestibility of the host bird fed a high-fibre diet. Gnotobiotic (GB) chicks were made from GF birds by co-inoculating with Ruminococcus albus, and Staphylococcus warneri, only the latter of which was established in the chicken gut. No difference was detected among conventional (CV), GF and GB birds in body weight gain, food intake or food efficiency from 7 to 21 d of age. The amount of nitrogen retained was larger in CV than in GF and GB chicks. DE and ME values of the diet and NDF digestibility were higher in CV birds than in GF and GB counterparts. It was concluded, therefore, that the established bacterium S. warneri did not give any beneficial effects on the host bird as judged by growth performance, energy availability, nitrogen utilization, and NDF digestibility.

        EFFECTS OF LYSINE OR RUMINALLY PROTECTED LYSINE ADMINISTRATION ON NITROGEN UTILIZATION IN GOATS FED A DIET SUPPLEMENTED WITH RUMINALLY PROTECTED METHIONINE

        The objectives of the present study were to investigate whether or not dietary lysine addition could improve N balance of female Japanese Saanen goats at 15 to 32 months of age, weighing 31 to 40 kg, fed on a wheat bran-hay cube diet supplemented with methionine, and whether or not ruminally protected lysine supplementation could give as good an N balance performance as lysine in the presence of ruminally protected methionine when given orally to the goats. It was considered from changes in N balance and N utilization that the first-and second-limiting amino acids in the diet were methionine and lysine respectively, under the present experimental conditions. The ruminally protected lysine in addition to the ruminally protected methionine gave no improvement in N balance and N utilization compared with the ruminally protected methionine alone, suggesting that the ruminally protected lysine used in the present study was not effectively utilized by the goats.

      • Light flavon signals at electron-photon colliders

        <P>Flavor symmetries are useful to realize fermion flavor structures in the standard model (SM). In particular, the discrete A(4) symmetry is used to realize lepton flavor structures, and some scalars-called flavons-are introduced to break this symmetry. In many models, flavons are assumed to be much heavier than the electroweak scale. However, our previous work showed that a flavon mass around 100 GeV is allowed by experimental constraints in the A(4) symmetric model with a residual Z(3) symmetry. In this paper, we discuss collider searches for such a light flavon phi(T). We find that electron-photon collisions at the International Linear Collider have advantages for searching for these signals. In electron-photon collisions, flavons are produced as e(-)gamma -> l(phi T)(-) and decay into two charged leptons. Then, we analyze signals of the flavor-conserving final state tau(+)tau(-)e(-) and the flavor-violating final states tau(+)mu(-)mu(-) and mu(+)tau(-)tau(-) by carrying out numerical simulations. For the former final state, SM background can be strongly suppressed by imposing cuts on the invariant masses of final-state leptons. For the latter final states, SM background is extremely small, because in the SM there are no such flavor-violating final states. We then find that sufficient discovery significance can be obtained, even if flavons are heavier than the lower limits from flavor physics.</P>
