Oxidation Catalysis over Crystalline Mo3VOx Catalysts for Selective oxidation of Ethane and Acrolein
( Satoshi Ishikawa ),( Wataru Ueda ) 한국공업화학회 2020 한국공업화학회 연구논문 초록집 Vol.2020 No.-
It has been well known that Mo-V based mixed oxide catalysts are extremely active for selective oxidation of ethane and acrolein. However, only a little has been known for their catalysis. In the presentation, details of the oxidation catalysis over the Mo-V based mixed oxide catalysts are investigated using the crystalline Mo3VOx (MoVO) catalysts as the examples. The catalytic activities for these reactions were originated from the heptagonal channel site in the crystal structure, while the acrolein was converted over the heptagonal channel exposed on the catalyst surface and the ethane oxidation took place inside the channel. The work presented here provides fundamental information about the oxidation catalysis for these reactions based on the crystal structure-catalytic activity relationship and offers the way for the rational catalyst design for creating the evolutional oxidation catalysts.

Background/Aims Several studies have assessed the effect of cool temperature on colonic peristalsis. Transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8) is a temperature-sensitive ion channel activated by mild cooling expressed in the colon. We examined the antispasmodic effect of cool temperature on colonic peristalsis in a prospective, randomized, single-blind trial and based on the video imaging and intraluminal pressure of the proximal colon in rats and TRPM8-deficient mice. Methods In the clinical trial, we randomly assigned a total of 94 patients scheduled to undergo colonoscopy to 2 groups: the mildly cool water (n = 47) and control (n = 47) groups. We used 20 mL of 15°C water for the mildly cool water. The primary outcome was the proportion of subjects with improved peristalsis after treatment. In the rodent proximal colon, we evaluated the intraluminal pressure and performed video imaging of the rodent proximal colon with cool water administration into the colonic lumen. Clinical trial registry website (Trial No. UMIN-CTR; UMIN000030725). Results In the randomized controlled trial, after treatment, the proportion of subjects with no peristalsis with cool water was significantly higher than that in the placebo group (44.7% vs 23.4%; P < 0.05). In the rodent colon model, cool temperature water was associated with a significant decrease in colonic peristalsis through its suppression of the ratio of peak frequency (P < 0.05). Cool temperature-treated TRPM8-deficient mice did not show a reduction in colonic peristalsis compared with wild-type mice. Conclusion For the first time, this study demonstrates that cool temperature-dependent suppression of colonic peristalsis may be associated with TRPM8 activation.

Background: To investigate the effects of acute kidney injury (AKI) after liver resection on the long-term outcome, including mortality and renal dysfunction after hospital discharge. Methods: We conducted a historical cohort study of patients who underwent liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma with sevoflurane anesthesia between January 2004 and October 2011, survived the hospital stay, and were followed for at least 3 years or died within 3 years after hospital discharge. AKI was diagnosed based on the Acute Kidney Injury Network classification within 72 hours postoperatively. In addition to the data obtained during hospitalization, serum creatinine concentration data were collected and the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was estimated after hospital discharge. Results: AKI patients (63%, P = 0.002) were more likely to reach the threshold of an estimated GFR (eGFR) of 45 ml/ min/1.73 m2 within 3 years than non-AKI patients (31%) although there was no significant difference in mortality (33% vs. 29%). Cox proportional hazard regression analysis showed that postoperative AKI was significantly associated with the composite outcome of mortality or an eGFR of 45 ml/min/1.73 m2 (95% CI of hazard ratio, 1.05–2.96, P = 0.033), but not with mortality (P = 0.699), the composite outcome of mortality or an eGFR of 60 ml/min/1.73 m2 (P = 0.347). Conclusions: After liver resection, AKI patients may be at higher risk of mortality or moderate renal dysfunction within 3 years. These findings suggest that even after discharge from the hospital, patients who suffered AKI after liver resection may need to be followed-up regarding renal function in the long term.
Nonlinear Straight Path Tracking Control for an Articulated Steering Type Vehicle
Naoji Shiroma,Satoshi Ishikawa 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
Autonomous control of an articulated steering type vehicle such as a wheel loader, which is usually used at surface mining fields to load mineral resources and rocks, is highly expected for operation costreduction. A wheel loader is one of heavy machines which is also used for snow removing and/or loading operation at construction fields because of it shigh mobility. Its steering system is articulated steering and the rear wheels follow tracks where the front wheels have traveled. We have for mulated nonlinear state equations using two velocity constraints. A nonlinear state-feedback controller is designed using the exact linearization method. Simulation and experimental results show that an articulated steering type vehicle can follow a straight line with the proposed feedback controller
Chloroplastic NAD(P)H Dehydrogenase Complex and Cyclic Electron Transport around Photosystem I
Tsuyoshi Endo,Satoshi Ishida,Noriko Ishikawa,Fumihiko Sato 한국분자세포생물학회 2008 Molecules and cells Vol.25 No.2
Recent molecular genetics studies have revealed that cyclic electron transport around photosystem I is essential for normal photosynthesis and growth of plants. Chloroplastic NAD(P)H dehydorgenase (NDH) complex, a homologue of the complex I in respiratory electron transport, is involved in one of two cyclic pathways. Recent studies on the function and structure of the NDH complex are reviewed
