In this investigation, we prepared semi-interpenetrating network (IPN) hydrogels composed of pluronic and poly(acrylamide), using free radical polymerization with a redox initiator system in the presence of N,N0-methylenebisacrylamide. The hydrogels served as templates for producing highly stable and uniformly distributed silver nanoparticles via in situ reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO_3) using sodium borohydride (NaBH_4) as reducing agent. We confirmed the formation of silver nanoparticles using ultraviolet visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Stability and morphology of the nanoparticles was examined using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Finally, we demonstrated the presence of antibacterial activity in the developed hydrogel–silver nanocomposite.
Magnetic nanoparticle-embedded PCM nanocapsules based on paraffin core and polyurea shell
Park, Sangphil,Lee, Yeongmin,Kim, Yong Seok,Lee, Hyang Moo,Kim, Jung Hyun,Cheong, In Woo,Koh, Won-Gun Elsevier 2014 Colloids and surfaces. A, Physicochemical and engi Vol.450 No.-
We change material (PCM) nanocapsules (Mag-PCM) based on a paraffin core and polyurea shell (paraffin@polyurea). The Mag-PCM nanocapsules were synthesized via interfacial polycondensation between tolylene diisocyanate (TDI) and ethylene diamine (EDA) with various concentrations (0, 2.2, 3.7, and 4.6 wt%) of Fe3O4 nanoparticles. FTIR and TGA analyses confirmed the successful preparation of MagPCM nanocapsules. TEM and SEM images revealed that most of the Fe3O4 NPs were localized in the polyurea shell layer due to the Pickering effect. Laser flash (LFA) and DSC analyses demonstrated that the embedment of Fe3O4 NPs could increase the thermal conductivity of PCM nanocapsules and reduce the supercooling of the paraffin between bulk and nano-size confinement conditions. <P>Transistors based on various types of nonsilicon nanowires have shown great potential for a variety of applications, especially for those that require transparency and low-temperature substrates. However, critical requirements for circuit functionality, such as saturated source-drain current and matched threshold voltages of individual nanowire transistors in a way that is compatible with low temperature substrates, have not been achieved. Here we show that femtosecond laser pulses can anneal individual transistors based on In2O3 nanowires, improve the saturation of the source-drain current, and permanently shift the threshold voltage to the positive direction. We applied this technique and successfully shifted the switching threshold voltages of NMOS-based inverters and improved their noise margin, in both depletion and enhancement modes. Our demonstration provides a method to trim the parameters of individual nanowire transistors, and suggests potential for large-scale integration of nanowire-based circuit blocks and systems.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/ancac3/2011/ancac3.2011.5.issue-2/nn102723w/production/images/medium/nn-2010-02723w_0005.gif'></P>
A Theoretical Study on Improvement of Public Delivery System According to IT Service Cost Estimation
Jin-kyung Kim,Chun-Hee Park,Nam-Yong Lee,Sangphil Kim,Jong-Bae Kim 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.9 No.8
Forecasting ordering size and performance cost correctly in the ordering of IT service projects and the initial stage of performance is a very important factor not only to the ordering body but also the company who performs the project. Middle standing IT service companies receive/perform public IT service project, substituting large companies, after 2013 amendment of Software Industry Promotion Act. However, the business competence accumulated by middle standing IT service companies is relatively insufficient in project management ability compared with large companies, and the style that project companies bear all risks of the project, such as Turn-key order in the market focused on large companies in the past, has great risk to the ordering body, project company, and service beneficiaries in quality, costs, profit and delivery date. Currently, the market centered on middle standing IT service companies deteriorates the profitability of interested parties, which makes IT service ecosystem as an element of cost increase due to reduction of ordering size, low earnings yield, and increase of management expenses. Therefore, there is necessity that the cost calculation and order style structure for IT services, in which project companies should bear all the risk of project performance, should be improved. This treatise is going to analyze the IT service market ecosystem and agreement, project performance style upon current IT service project cost calculation method based on SW lifespan process and suggest improvement methods.
Protein-conjugated, glucose-sensitive surface using fluorescent dendrimer porphyrin
Lee, Yeol,Kim, Jongsu,Kim, Suhyun,Jang, Woo-Dong,Park, Sangphil,Koh, Won-Gun Royal Society of Chemistry 2009 Journal of materials chemistry Vol.19 No.31
<P>A multi-functional dendrimer-coated surface has been prepared for the effective protein immobilization and detection of protein activity. The silicon surface was first modified with positively-charged amino groups using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES), and subsequently coated with ionic dendrimer porphyrin (DP) by electrostatic interaction. Fluorescence and atomic force microscopy (AFM) studies showed that the dendrimer was homogeneously coated on the APTES-modified silicon surface as dome-shaped features that protruded 1.0–2.5 nm above the surface and had diameters ranging from 50 nm to 100 nm. The dendrimer-modified surface showed a higher capacity to covalently bind proteins, compared to the control surfaces, and the protein activity was higher by a factor of two. Using the fluorescent property of the porphyrin core, the relative amounts of dendrimer and the enzyme-catalyzed reactions on the dendrimer-coated surface were examined by fluorescence microscopy. Glucose oxidase (GOX)-mediated glucose oxidation quenched fluorescence emission from the focal porphyrin core through a peroxidase-coupled system and from the quantitative relationship between quenching and glucose concentration, the GOX-catalyzed reaction could be characterized.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>A dendrimer porphyrin-coated surface has been developed for effective protein immobilization and detection of protein activity using glucose concentration-dependent fluorescence quenching. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=b906587n'> </P>
