        국립공원 탐방로 안전지수 및 등급분석에 관한 연구

        본 연구에서는 탐방로 안전성 평가 모델을 활용하여 21개 국립공원을 대상으로 안전지수와 등급분석을 수행하였다. 현장조사를 통해 탐방로 주변 위험요소 중 하나라도 확인되면 취약구간으로 판단하여 안전지수를 산출하였다. 취약구간은 총 180.4km로 조사되었으며 탐방로 총 연장 1,995.5km 대비 약 9.0%로 확인되었다. 안전지수는 총 200점 중 최소 42.3점에서 최대 167.0점 분포를 보이고 평균값은 101.5점으로 나타났다. 안전지수를 토대로 등급을 분석한 결과, ‘관심(Concern)’ 등급은 60.8km(34%), ‘주의(Caution)’ 등급은 57.8km(32%), ‘위험(Dangerous)’ 등급은 49.6km(27%), ‘매우위험(Very dangerous)’ 등급은 12.2km(7%)로 나타났다. 매우위험 구간은 북한산국립공원(6.0km), 지리산국립공원(3.3km), 오대산국립공원(1.6km), 설악산국립공원(0.9km), 월악산국립공원(0.4km), 속리산국립공원(0.01km) 등 6개 국립공원 탐방로에서 총 12.2km로 나타났다. 북한산국립공원은 Y계곡, 의상능선 등이 해당되며, 지리산국립공원은 칠선계곡, 구룡계곡에서 확인되었다. 오대산국립공원은 노인봉 일원, 설악산국립공원은 공룡능선, 흘림골 등에서 나타났다. 월악산국립공원은 금수산 일원, 속리산국립공원 막장봉 구간이 매우위험 구간으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 향후 재난위험 저감대책 수립과 탐방로 정비 우선순위 선정 등 국립공원 안전관리 정책을 수립하기 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다. In this study, the safety indexing and grading analysis were conducted for 21 national parks, using the trail safety evaluation model. If any one of the risk factors around the trail was identified through a field survey, the safety index was calculated by judging it as a vulnerability zone. The vulnerability zone was 180.4km in total, and it was found to be about 9.0% compared to the total length of 1,995.5km. The safety index was distributed from the minimum of 42.3 to the maximum of 167.0, and the average value was 101.5 of total 200 scores. As a result of analyzing the grade based on the safety index, 60.8km (34%) was in the ‘Concern’ grade, 57.8km (32%) was in the ‘Caution’ grade, 49.6km (27%) was in the ‘Dangerous’ grade, and 12.2km (7%) was in the ‘Very dangerous’ grade. ‘Very dangerous’ sections were found to be a total of 12.2 km. including 6 national park trails: Bukhansan National Park (6.0km), Jirisan National Park (3.3km), Odaesan National Park (1.6km), Seoraksan National Park (0.9km), Woraksan National Park (0.4km), Songnisan National Park (0.01km). In terms of ‘Very dangerous’ section, Bukhansan National Park included Y Valley and Uisang Ridge, and Jirisan National Park included Chilseon Valley and Guryong Valley. The area of Noinbong in Odaesan National Park, and Gongnyong Ridge and Heulimgol in Seoraksan National Park were included. And the Geumsusan area in Wolaksan National Park and Makjangbong in Songnisan National Park were found to be ‘Very dangerous’. This study could be used as basic data to establish national park safety management policies, such as selecting priority of trail maintenance and establishing countermeasures to reduce disaster risk.

        Analysis of epididymal sperm from Korean native bull (Hanwoo) aged at 8 and 15 months before freezing and after thawing

        The recovery of epididymal sperm in animals is considered as one of the important tools to preserve high value or endangered species. However, there are no appropriate castrating indicators such as months of age in bull, sperm morphology, and motility, particularly in young Korean native bull (Hanwoo). Therefore, this study aimed to investigate sperm number, morphology, and motility of sperm in the epididymis tail of young Hanwoo bulls at 8 and 15 months of age. After castration, epididymal tails were collected and minced with blades to recover sperm. In experiments 1 and 2, sperm number, morphology, and motility were examined. Total number of sperm and percentage of normal sperm from bulls at 8 months of age was lower than that of bulls at 15 months of age after collection (P<0.05). Percentage of abnormal head, tail, proximal cytoplasmic droplet, dead and damaged acrosome of sperm from bulls at 8 months of age were higher than those of bulls at 15 months of age (P<0.05). In experiment 3, sperm motility from bulls at 8 and 15 months of age were examined before freezing and after thawing. Frozen-thawed sperm at 8 months of age showed low total motility and motile sperm with ≥ 25 μm/sec compared to those at 15 months of age and commercially-used sperm (P<0.05). In conclusion, sperm derived from the epididymal tail of bulls at 8 months of age showed high abnormal morphology and poor motility, which are not adequate for AI and IVF. On the other hand, sperm derived from the epididymal tail of bulls at 15 months of age showed high normal morphology and motility.

      • Telogen effluvium due to the inflammation of hyaluronic acid filler migration

        Hyaluronic acid(HA) filler injection is one of the most common methods for soft tissue augmentation. Complications associated with HA filler are commonly reported such as pain, swelling, bruise and rarely migration of product, allergic reaction, injection necrosis. However, HA induced alopecia is rarely reported. A 59-year-old female presented with localized hair loss patch on frontal area for about 1 months. The patient underwent forehead augmentation by receiving 3 cc injections of HA filler 1 month ago. After filler injection on forehead, she complained erythema and swelling patch on scalp. And then, she noticed an area of alopecia over her frontal area. Personal medical history was unremarkable. A skin biopsy was performed. Histopathologic examination revealed that pools of mucin consistent with HA filler in dermis and increased telogen hair. We treated her using triamcinolone injection and narrow band ultraviolet B therapy. Hair regrowth in her alopecia area was observed after treatment for 1 month. With our knowledge, this is a rare case report of telogen effluvium due to the inflammation of hyaluronic acid filler migration

      • Triboelectric nanogenerator with nanostructured metal surface using water-assisted oxidation

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The performance of a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) was effectively enhanced by forming nanostructures at the contacting interface. The contacting interface usually consists of metal and polymer surface, but the formation of nanostructures have only been actively studied for the polymer so far. In this work, a simple and effective route to forming nanostructures on the metal surface is proposed, using a water-assisted oxidation (WAO) process. The one-step WAO process requires only hot water without any complicated equipment and treatment. Using the WAO process, densely packed micro and nanostructures were successfully formed on three target metal surfaces: aluminum, copper, and zinc. The output power of the TENG was enhanced after the nanostructure formation because of the increased contact area. The influence of the process conditions on the nanostructure morphology was additionally analyzed to maximize the output power. The simple and low-cost WAO process is advantageous in terms of practicality.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) with a micro and nanostructures at the interface is fabricated based on the water-assisted oxidation (WAO) process. </LI> <LI> Optimal fabrication condition is determined to maximize the effective contact area of the TENG. </LI> <LI> Practicality of the WAO-based TENGs is demonstrated by its application to a wind-based TENG. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        Freshwater Benthic Macroinvertebrate Fauna of Jindo Island, Korea

        Freshwater benthic macroinvertebrates were investigated from five sampling sites on Jindo Island located in the southwestern end of the Korean Peninsula. A total of 47 species (average 14±3.16 species per site, 40 species in lotic area, and 13 species in lentic area) belonging to 38 families, 14 orders, 5 classes, and 3 phyla were sampled. Coleoptera, Diptera, Ephemeroptera, and Trichoptera were the major groups of benthic macroinvertebrates with relatively high species richness. Species diversity indices (H′) and richness indices (RI) of upper streams were relatively higher than those of lower streams, which were affected by agricultural effluent from the paddy fields.

      • Activation of Defense Responses in Chinese Cabbage by a Nonhost Pathogen, Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato

        Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato (Pst) causes a bacterial speck disease in tomato and Arabidopsis. In Chinese cabbage, in which host-pathogen interactions are not well understood, Pst does not cause disease but rather elicits a hypersensitive response. Pst induces localized cell death and $H_2O_2$ accumulation, a typical hypersensitive response, in infiltrated cabbage leaves. Pre-inoculation with Pst was found to induce resistance to Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora, a pathogen that causes soft rot disease in Chinese cabbage. An examination of the expression profiles of 12 previously identified Pst-inducible genes revealed that the majority of these genes were activated by salicylic acid or BTH; however, expressions of the genes encoding PR4 and a class IV chitinase were induced by ethephon, an ethylene-releasing compound, but not by salicylic acid, BTH, or methyl jasmonate. This implies that Pst activates both salicylate-dependent and salicylate-independent defense responses in Chinese cabbage.

      • Long-Term Mortality After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention With Drug-Eluting Stent Implantation Versus Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery for the Treatment of Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease

        <P>BACKGROUND: Although previous studies have compared the treatment effects of percutaneous coronary intervention and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), the long-term outcomes beyond 1 year among patients with multivessel coronary artery disease who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stents (DES) or CABG have not been evaluated. METHODS AND RESULTS: Between January 2003 and December 2005, 3042 patients with multivessel disease underwent coronary implantation of DES (n=1547) or CABG (n=1495). The primary end point was all-cause mortality. In a crude analysis, the rate of long-term mortality was significantly higher in patients who underwent CABG than in those who underwent DES implantation (3-year unadjusted mortality rate, 7.0% for CABG versus 4.4% for percutaneous coronary intervention; P=0.01). However, after adjustment for baseline differences, the overall risks of death were similar among all patients (hazard ratio, 0.85; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.56 to 1.30; P=0.45), diabetic patients (hazard ratio, 1.76; 95% CI, 0.82 to 3.78; P=0.15), and patients with compromised ventricular function (hazard ratio, 1.39; 95% CI, 0.41 to 4.65; P=0.60). In the anatomic subgroups, mortality benefit with DES implantation was noted in patients with 2-vessel disease with involvement of the nonproximal left anterior descending artery (hazard ratio, 0.23; 95% CI, 0.01 to 0.78; P=0.016). The rate of revascularization was significantly higher in the DES than in the CABG group (hazard ratio, 2.81; 95% CI, 2.11 to 3.75; P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: For the treatment of multivessel coronary artery disease, percutaneous coronary intervention with DES implantation showed equivalent long-term mortality as CABG.</P>

        Study on the Evaluation of Stability of Gel Structured Cosmetics

        The stability of gel structured emulsion and the effect of polyols on it have been studied by rheological property and interfacial tension. In this paper, three types of gel structured emulsions were prepared by using three polyols respectively(glycerine for sample 1, 1.3 BG for sample 2, PG for sample 3). And both complex modulus(G*) and loss angle[δ = tan-1 (G“/G‘)] of samples were investigated against oscillating shear stress and frequency(co). The results show sample 1 is most highly consistent with oscillating shear stress. And the results were compared with those of accelerated tests concerning storage stability of gel structured emulsion. To correlate consistency of rheological property with storage stability, interfacial tension from which adsorption efficiency of surfactant(Octyldodecyl Ether) could be known was measured. Sample 1 showed the largest value of [dγ/dln<sub>Cconc. of surfactant</sub>]in Gibbs equation. In summary, the prediction of stability could be correctly made by the consistency of rheological property(G*,γ) of gel structured emulsion against oscillating shear stress and it could be supported by measuring interfacial tension. And polyol affected the value of [dγ/dlnC<sub>conc. of surfactant</sub>], consequently affected the stability.
