Heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) design mainly deals with moisture and its control. The moisture may be present inside ducts, conditioned spaces, or outdoors. The process of humidification and dehumidification requires equipment for mass and heat transfer, where the transfer of energy and mass takes place at varying concentrations and temperatures. The exchange of mass or heat depends on the type of flow and is conceivably in the form of gas to liquid or liquid–vapor. This paper aims to review the effect of moisture in the buildings and modulate its effect with several humidifying and dehumidifying techniques as sustainable techniques depending upon the external weather conditions to maintain thermal comfort. Various humidification and dehumidification techniques have been discussed with both their merits, limitations, applications and future scope to meet sustainable energy demands.

Commercial remote-sensing is one of the applied fields of space activities which, like telecommunications but to a lesser extent, is in the process of recording a reapid rate of development. Fields of utilization for spatial imagery are numerous: ocean monitoring, crops monitoring, glaciology, meteorlogy, forestry, environmental watch, geology, etc. All those fields of interest could be gathered under the generic name of "earth-watching activities" which is somewhat larger than "remote-sensing." This article aims at presenting to Korean readers the main lines of development of five major players in the field, namely : the USA, France, Japan, Europe and Canada. This is not to exclude the role played by other active players such as the former USSR and other smaller though industrious space powers.

Exporting countries are concerned that sanitary standards might shield domestic industry from foreign competition. This study analyzes economic effects of changes in Western Hemisphere sanitary requirements on broiler trade in the Americas. A mathematical programming model detects that if Brazil and Mexico are allowed to export fresh, chilled, and frozen poultry meat to the United States and Canada then the United States becomes an importer of value added broiler products and looses market share to Brazil in world broiler market. Due to geographic location, Mexico expands exports to the United States.

Desiccant cooling mechanism is one of the alternate methods to control the humidity of air and temperature, compared to the conventional vapor compression method of air conditioning. Desiccant cooling doesn’t use harmful chemicals which effect the ozone layer and it saves lots of energy. Summer air condition system can use this technology since it removes the latent heat load from the room effectively and this process is economical. Selection of the appropriate liquid desiccant and packing material is very vital to obtain maximum dehumidification. This paper focuses on the different desiccants and packings used by different researchers to enhance the dehumidification. Simple and hybrid systems are also reviewed, and their comparison are presented based on the construction and dehumidification performance.
Risk Factors for Recurrent Abdominal Pain in Children with Nonorganic Acute Abdominal Pain

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the risk factors for recurrent abdominal pain (RAP) in children who presented with nonorganic acute abdominal pain. Methods: A retrospective, single study was conducted on 2–15-year-old children diagnosed with nonorganic acute abdominal pain at the pediatric outpatient department of Vajira Hospital, Nawamindradhiraj University, between January 2015 and December 2019. The potential risk factors were analyzed using univariate and multivariate analyses. Results: Of the 367 patients with nonorganic acute abdominal pain, 94 (25.6%) experienced RAP within three months. In this group with RAP, 76 patients (80.8%) were diagnosed with functional gastrointestinal disorders, including functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, functional abdominal pain-not otherwise specified, and functional constipation. History of gastrointestinal infection (p=0.011), mental health problems (p=0.022), abdominal pain lasting ≥7 days (p<0.001), and change in stool frequency (p=0.001) were the independent risk factors associated with RAP in children with nonorganic acute abdominal pain; their odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals were 3.364 (1.314–8.162), 3.052 (1.172–7.949), 3.706 (1.847–7.435), and 2.649 (1.477–4.750), respectively. Conclusion: RAP is a common problem among children who first present with nonorganic acute abdominal pain. The identification of risk factors may provide proper management, especially follow-up plans for this group in the future.

<P>The giant freshwater prawn, <I>Macrobrachium rosenbergii</I>, a sexually dimorphic decapod crustacean is currently the world’s most economically important cultured freshwater crustacean species. Despite its economic importance, there is currently a lack of genomic resources available for this species, and this has limited exploration of the molecular mechanisms that control the <I>M. rosenbergii</I> sex-differentiation system more widely in freshwater prawns. Here, we present the first hybrid transcriptome from <I>M. rosenbergii</I> applying RNA-Seq technologies directed at identifying genes that have potential functional roles in reproductive-related traits. A total of 13,733,210 combined raw reads (1720 Mbp) were obtained from Ion-Torrent PGM and 454 FLX. Bioinformatic analyses based on three state-of-the-art assemblers, the CLC Genomic Workbench, Trans-ABySS, and Trinity, that use single and multiple <I>k</I>-mer methods respectively, were used to analyse the data. The influence of multiple <I>k</I>-mers on assembly performance was assessed to gain insight into transcriptome assembly from short reads. After optimisation, <I>de novo</I> assembly resulted in 44,407 contigs with a mean length of 437 bp, and the assembled transcripts were further functionally annotated to detect single nucleotide polymorphisms and simple sequence repeat motifs. Gene expression analysis was also used to compare expression patterns from ovary and testis tissue libraries to identify genes with potential roles in reproduction and sex differentiation. The large transcript set assembled here represents the most comprehensive set of transcriptomic resources ever developed for reproduction traits in <I>M. rosenbergii</I>, and the large number of genetic markers predicted should constitute an invaluable resource for future genetic research studies on <I>M</I>. <I>rosenbergii</I> and can be applied more widely on other freshwater prawn species in the genus <I>Macrobrachium</I>.</P>

Background/Aims: This study aims to compare polyp detection performance of “Deep-GI,” a newly developed artificial intelligence (AI) model, to a previously validated AI model computer-aided polyp detection (CADe) using various false positive (FP) thresholds and determining the best threshold for each model. Methods: Colonoscopy videos were collected prospectively and reviewed by three expert endoscopists (gold standard), trainees, CADe (CAD EYE; Fujifilm Corp.), and Deep-GI. Polyp detection sensitivity (PDS), polyp miss rates (PMR), and false-positive alarm rates (FPR) were compared among the three groups using different FP thresholds for the duration of bounding boxes appearing on the screen. Results: In total, 170 colonoscopy videos were used in this study. Deep-GI showed the highest PDS (99.4% vs. 85.4% vs. 66.7%, p<0.01) and the lowest PMR (0.6% vs. 14.6% vs. 33.3%, p<0.01) when compared to CADe and trainees, respectively. Compared to CADe, Deep-GI demonstrated lower FPR at FP thresholds of ≥0.5 (12.1 vs. 22.4) and ≥1 second (4.4 vs. 6.8) (both p<0.05). However, when the threshold was raised to ≥1.5 seconds, the FPR became comparable (2 vs. 2.4, p=0.3), while the PMR increased from 2% to 10%. Conclusions: Compared to CADe, Deep-GI demonstrated a higher PDS with significantly lower FPR at ≥0.5- and ≥1-second thresholds. At the ≥1.5-second threshold, both systems showed comparable FPR with increased PMR.
