O uso de narrativas no ensino do pretérito imperfeito em português ―uma proposta de atividade
( Simone Paula Kunrath ) 한국포르투갈-브라질학회 2006 포르투갈-브라질 연구 Vol.3 No.1
This article presents a proposal for a classroom activity with the objective of clarifying to learners the different uses of the past imperfect (pretérito imperfeito), assisting, therefore, the work of teachers of Portuguese as a second language. To develop this activity, I have utilized narrative constructions, basing these on the results obtained from a previous study (Kunrath, 2002), in which the process of acquisition of the past imperfect (pretérito imperfeito) in oral narratives with native German speakers learning Portuguese as a second language was investigated. In this study, using the hypothesis of primacy of aspect and of the structure of narrative texts, it has been proved that the past imperfect (pretérito imperfeito) is the predominant verb tense in the background. Besides this, the study has shown that the acquisition of the past imperfect (pretérito imperfeito) occurs slower than the past perfect (pretérito perfeito) and that the emerging order is “state verbs → activity verbs → accomplishment verbs → achievement verbs”.

Entrepreneurial communities are social units that share values, experiences, rituals and traditions. In these communities, conviviality represents a socialization tool, which can foster a sense of belonging through the development of social relations among its members. Since conviviality has a social impact, it can be related to the phenomenon of “embeddedness” whenever the social relations that it produces incorporate business relations. Drawing on an appropriate literature review and on the case analysis of a community of young entrepreneurs operating in the textile district of Prato (Italy), we propose to investigate how conviviality affects social relations making them interactive contexts to animate business relations.
Liberalizing Immigration Policies for the UK Agricultural Sector in the Post-Brexit Era
Simone Angioloni,Maria Berrittella,Ziping Wu,Angel H. Aguiar 세종대학교 경제통합연구소 2022 Journal of Economic Integration Vol.37 No.1
We investigate the effects of immigration policies on the UK agricultural sector under the new post-Brexit deal through a computable general equilibrium framework. We consider bilateral flows of migrants and frictions as part of capital and labor mobility to compare the point-based immigration system to open immigration policies in terms of their impacts on agriculture. We also integrate the GTAP-GMig2 immigration model with the GTAP-AGR agriculture model. Our findings show that liberal immigration policies have positive effects on production, farmers’ income, and overall welfare. The benefits increase if these policies are combined with reduced bureaucracy and lower behind-the-border costs in trade relationships.
Organizing Healthcare for Optimal Acute Ischemic Stroke Treatment
Simone Vidale,Elio Clemente Agostoni 대한신경과학회 2020 Journal of Clinical Neurology Vol.16 No.2
Stroke is a major health-care problem that represents a leading cause of death and also the top cause of disability in adulthood. In recent years there has been a significant paradigm shift in treatments for acute ischemic stroke to favor earlier reperfusion therapy, mainly using the systemic infusion of recombinant tissue plasminogen activator. Subsequent trials found that combining this treatment with endovascular therapy was effective in selected patients. The increased complexity of acute stroke treatments has resulted in a substantial reorganization of stroke care. This review reports on the evolution of acute ischemic stroke treatment and describes the main organizational models based on the hub-and-spoke system. The lack of evidence for comparisons of the effectiveness of different paradigms means that some decision-analysis models predicting the best organizational pathways are also reported, with a particular emphasis on the workflow timing in the prehospital and in-hospital settings. Major benchmarks and performance measures are also reported, focusing on the timing of interventions and rates of process indicators. Finally, future directions are illustrated, including using telemedicine for stroke, mobile stroke units, and artificial intelligence and automated machines to produce software for detecting large-vessel occlusion.

Background: Aphthous stomatitis is a common disease of the oral mucosa and its pathogenesis is associated with several risk factors. Frequently, minor ulcers are idiopathic in nature and often resolve naturally. However, those ulcers are painful and sensibly compromise patients’ eating. There are different treatment strategies for the clinical management of oral aphthae. Methods: The present study assessed the efficacy of a film-forming cream in accelerating the healing and diminishing the pain associated with minor aphthae in a randomized fashion design. The test product (AphtoFixⓇ) was compared with placebo cream in a cohort of patients with a diagnosis of minor recurrent stomatitis. Patients were randomly distributed into two groups and were followed for 10 days. The primary outcomes included the number of days until symptoms were relieved and the number of days to complete healing. Results: Thirty-six patients completed the follow-up, eighteen per group. All lesions eventually healed within day 10. However, patients in the test group experienced significantly less pain, already from day 1. Patients in the test group also showed a faster healing rate of the lesion with an average of 7 days against the 9 days required for patients in the control group. Conclusion: The present study supported the utility of a film-forming in cream in relieving the patient from symptoms associated with aphthous stomatitis already at day 1 of product use. Patients also displayed faster healing of the lesions when compared to the control group. Further studies with greater sample size and patient stratification according to age and risk factors are recommended to support the present findings.
A local authority governance model: the case of Parma and ‘MasterTown’
Simone Fanelli,Gianluca Lanza 한국행정학회 2017 International Review of Public Administration Vol.22 No.1
In recent decades, the role and power of local authorities in their relations with citizens has changed. Today, new competences and resources, not usually owned by local authorities, are being embedded into the decision-making process, which necessitates the involvement of local stakeholders. A set of different tools (public-private partnership, project financing, etc.) and purposes (urban renewal, territorial marketing, etc.) has been developed to improve this relationship. This paper presents the experience of Parma, an Italian municipality, where a project called ‘MasterTown’ has been developed with the aim of involving different stakeholders in identifying and planning urban renewal. Analysis shows four key factors for the success of MasterTown project: sharing competences and resources, involving citizens, finding alternative financial resources, and assessing social outcomes. The results could be useful to policy-makers in developing renewal processes meeting the needs of all local stakeholders.
