      • Analysis of Dominant Colors and Color Scheme of Good Design Signboards in South Korea

        Signboard design is one of the major factors that determine visual impression of city landscape and local characteristics. However, it has been pointed out that the design of the signboard is over-installed and the abuse of color indiscriminate. In order to solve this problem, various policies, such as the signboard improvement project, have been implemented, but new problems are arising, such as indiscreet benchmarking and proliferation of uniform billboard design. Therefore, this study analyzed what kind of colors are used for signboards with unique and good designs. For this purpose, used a signboard picture posted on an online website that shares a good design signage. The colors used in the signboards are classified into the background (dominant color) and the figure (assort color & accent color), and classified according to the type of business. Based on this data, we compared the color and color relation of the signboard colors among the types of businesses. The findings in this study suggest colors schemes applied to signboards that are seen as having a good design often use luminosity contrast with low-saturation colors, such as achromatic colors and YR colors, and therefore, “beauty temperance” is an important factor.

        Effective surface-enhanced Raman scattering of randomly branched gold nano-urchins with Rhodamine 6G as Raman reporters

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Gold nano-urchins (AuNUs) can be effectively used in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) because of the sharp tips that grow randomly on the surface. However, it is difficult to control the multiple tips of AuNUs given the variation in their number, size, and distance from the core. Furthermore, it is difficult to achieve effective adsorption of Raman probe molecules on the rough and uneven surfaces of AuNUs. Because of these problems, it is doubtful whether they can be effective SERS substrates. Herein, we present a method for effective SERS using branched AuNUs and Rhodamine 6G (R6G) probe molecules at 785nm, close to their localized surface plasmon resonance wavelength. We investigated the effect of several factors on the enhancement of SERS, including binding time, centrifugation speed and time, ratio of AuNUs and probe molecules, and stirring time. The enhancement of SERS was effectively achieved with a set of conditions that included a AuNUs:R6G concentration ratio of 8:1, a binding time of 6–8h, centrifuging for 40min at a relative centrifugal force of 2400, and no stirring during sample preparation. The results provide important information on effective adsorption of R6G Raman probe molecules on the branched and uneven surfaces of AuNUs for effective enhancement of SERS.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We present a method for effective SERS using gold nanourchins and R6G molecules. </LI> <LI> We present the effect of several factors on the SERS enhancement. </LI> <LI> We provide information on effective adsorption of R6G molecules on the nanourchins. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

      • Giacommo Balla의 미래주의 작품을 응용한 모터사이클복 디자인

        The purpose of this study is to develop the design of motorcycle wear applying the works of Giacomo Balla by CAD system. First, the works which could be expressed well to motorcycle wears among Giacomo Balla’s arts select the works through discussion of professional group. Next, the motifs to be applied motorcycle wears were found in them. Fabrics and Patterns which expressed futurism, dynamism, and speeding, were made by using Photoshop CS2 and Illustrator CS2 programs based on the motifs. Lastly, this study suggested various motorcycle wears for men and women applying new fabrics. In conclusion, the futurism works of Giacomo Balla was adaptable to motorcycle wear designs to express speed. The design of male motorcycle wear expressed energetic and tough of masculine beauty, and that for female represented sophisticate and delicate of womanly beauty. Although the early spent so much time to design by CAD system, it was possible to various changes inside quick hour. In this respect, CAD will act on important strategy as faster production is possibility in the global textile industry. Future researches should expand the design efforts to other motorcycle products such as gloves, helmets, foot wears, and protectors.

        Predictors of Relapse in Patients with Organizing Pneumonia

        Background: Although organizing pneumonia (OP) responds well to corticosteroid therapy, relapse is common during dose reduction or follow-up. Predictors of relapse in OP patients remain to be established. The aim of the present study was to identify factors related to relapse in OP patients. Methods: This study was retrospectively performed in a tertiary referral center. Of 66 OP patients who were improved with or without treatment, 20 (30%) experienced relapse. The clinical and radiologic parameters in the relapse patient group (n=20) were compared to that in the non-relapse group (n=46). Results: Multivariate analysis demonstrated that percent predicted forced vital capacity (FVC), PaO2/FiO2, and serum protein level were significant predictors of relapse in OP patients (odds ratio [OR], 0.82; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.70-0.97; p=0.018; OR, 1.02; 95% CI, 1.00-1.04; p=0.042; and OR, 0.06; 95% CI, 0.01-0.87; p=0.039, respectively). Conclusion: This study shows that FVC, PaO2/FiO2 and serum protein level at presentation can significantly predict relapse in OP patients.

        Association Between Age and Sleep Quality: Findings From a Community Health Survey

        Background and Objective This study aimed to investigate the changes in sleep quality with increasing age and the effect of age on the components of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).Methods We used data from the Community Health Survey conducted by the Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2018. A total of 228340 participants in this nationwide survey. Sleep quality was assessed using the PSQI. Adults aged ≥ 19 years were divided into six age groups and one-way analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA) was used to compare the mean values of PSQI of each group. By comparing the scores for each PSQI component in those aged ≥ 65 years and < 65 years, we aimed to reveal the differences in special components according to age group.Results In total, 223334 respondents were included in the study. Based on a one-way ANOVA, the PSQI score generally increased with age. Although the average PSQI score of patients in their 40s was lower than that of patients in their 30s, there was no significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.11). When the PSQI component was compared between the population aged over and under 65 years, the population aged ≥ 65 years scored higher in most components. In contrast, daytime dysfunction scored higher in the population aged < 65 years.Conclusions Sleep quality tends to decrease with increasing age. Several factors, including physiological changes, underlying physical conditions, and psychosocial factors, may contribute to a decrease in sleep quality with age.

        SAMC 알고리즘을 이용한 미디어 패널 개인화 추천 알고리즘

        모바일 중심의 콘텐츠 소비가 지속되면서 영상 콘텐츠에 대한 수요가 꾸준히 높아지고 있는 요즘 OTT 서비스는 미디어 시장에서 가장 주목받고 있다. OTT 서비스는 기존에 TV 시청을 위해 사용했던 셋톱박스를 넘어 인터넷을 기반으로 언제 어디서나 쉽게 콘텐츠를 제공하는 온라인 콘텐츠 스트리밍 서비스로, 이용률이 급격하게 증가하고 있다. 콘텐츠 구성에 따른 OTT 서비스의 종류가 다양한 가운데, 언뜻 보면 비슷한 OTT 서비스지만 제각각 분명한 색깔을 지니고 있어 차이가 난다. 모든 OTT 서비스를 구독할 수는 없는 노릇이기에 어떤 OTT 서비스가 내 취향과 맞는지 파악해 선택적으로 이용할 수밖에 없다. 따라서 본 연구는 2019년 온라인 디지털 콘텐츠 서비스에 대한 미디어 패널 자료를 추천 알고리즘에 적용해 사용자들을 위한 맞춤형 추천 리스트를 만들고자 한다. 기존의 BPR 알고리즘에 이용된 확률적 경사 하강법은 탐색 경로가 비효율적이므로 이를 극복하기 위해 SAMC 알고리즘을 이용한 개인화 추천 알고리즘을 제시하고 다른 알고리즘과 성능을 비교해보았다. 분석 결과, SAMC-BPR 알고리즘의 성능이 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 미디어 패널 자료 특성상 조사한 대상자에 대한 변수가 많아 총 52개의 변수를 이용하여 다항 로지스틱 회귀, 변수선택법과 군집분석을 통해 군집별 성향을 파악하였다. SAMC-BPR 알고리즘의 추천 리스트를 통해 젊은 세대 사용자가 많이 포함된 군집에는 카카오TV, 기성세대가 주를 이루고 있는 군집은 넷플릭스를 가장 많이 추천하고 있다. OTT services are attracting the most attention in the media market these days, where the demand for video content is steadily increasing as mobile-oriented content consumption continues. OTT service is an online content streaming service that provides contents easily anytime, anywhere based on the Internet beyond the set-top box that was previously used to watch TV, and its utilization rate is rapidly increasing. There are various types of OTT services according to the composition of the contents. They seems to be similar OTT services, but are difference ones due to clear features. Since we can t subscribe to all OTT services, we have to find out which OTT service suits our taste. Therefore, this study intends to create a customized recommendation list for users by applying media panel data for online digital content services in 2019 to a recommendation algorithm. Since the stochastic gradient descent method used in the existing BPR algorithms is inefficient in the search path, we suggest a personalized recommendation algorithm using the SAMC algorithm and its performance is compared with other algorithms. The result indicates that the performance of the SAMC-BPR algorithm is excellent. Due to the characteristics of the media panel data, there were many variables for the subjects investigated, so a total of 52 variables were used to determine the propensity of each group through multinomial logistic regression, variable selection method, and cluster analysis. Through the recommendation list of the SAMC-BPR algorithm, Kakao TV is the most recommended for the cluster containing a large number of younger generation users, and Netflix is the most recommended for the cluster with the older generation.
