      • Apoptosis in Cancer - An Update

        Sankari, S. Leena,Masthan, K.M.K.,Babu, N. Aravindha,Bhattacharjee, Tathagata,Elumalai, M. Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.10

Apoptosis is programmed cell death which is essential for development and survival of living organisms. It is a sequentially regulated suicidal programme where cells activate certain enzymes which dissolute their own nuclear component and various protein component of nucleus and cytoplasm. Disturbance of this regulatory pathway may lead to various diseases like autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative diseases and cancers. The potential mechanisms of apoptosis and its role in cancer are discussed. The ability of apoptosis to modulate the life or death of a cell is also recognized for its immense therapeutic potential. Understanding the mechanisms from this review will give us better insight to the pathogenesis of various diseases including cancer and will open new horizons to therapeutic approaches.

Human Adipose Tissue Derivatives as a Potent Native Biomaterial for Tissue Regenerative Therapies

        Siva Sankari Sharath,Janarthanan Ramu,Shantikumar Vasudevan Nair,Subramaniya Iyer,Ullas Mony,Jayakumar Rangasamy 한국조직공학과 재생의학회 2020 조직공학과 재생의학 Vol.17 No.2

Background: Human adipose tissue is a great source of translatable biomaterials owing to its ease of availability and simple processing. Reusing discardable adipose tissue for tissue regeneration helps in mimicking the exact native microenvironment of tissue. Over the past 10 years, extraction, processing, tuning and fabrication of adipose tissue have grabbed the attention owing to their native therapeutic and regenerative potential. The present work gives the overview of next generation biomaterials derived from human adipose tissue and their development with clinical relevance. Methods: Around 300 articles have been reviewed to widen the knowledge on the isolation, characterization techniques and medical applications of human adipose tissue and its derivatives from bench to bedside. The prospective applications of adipose tissue derivatives like autologous fat graft, stromal vascular fraction, stem cells, preadipocyte, adipokines and extracellular matrix, their behavioural mechanism, rational property of providing native bioenvironment, circumventing their translational abilities, recent advances in featuring them clinically have been reviewed extensively to reveal the dormant side of human adipose tissue. Results: Basic understanding about the molecular and structural aspect of human adipose tissue is necessary to employ it constructively. This review has nailed the productive usage of human adipose tissue, in a stepwise manner from exploring the methods of extracting derivatives, concerns during processing and its formulations to turning them into functional biomaterials. Their performance as functional biomaterials for skin regeneration, wound healing, soft tissue defects, stem cell and other regenerative therapies under in vitro and in vivo conditions emphasizes the translational efficiency of adipose tissue derivatives. Conclusion: In the recent years, research interest has inclination towards constructive tissue engineering and regenerative therapies. Unravelling the maximum utilization of human adipose tissue derivatives paves a way for improving existing tissue regeneration and cellular based therapies and other biomedical applications.

SOME EXTENSION ON HESITANT FUZZY MAXIMAL, MINIMAL OPEN AND CLOSED SETS

        M. SANKARI,C. MURUGESAN The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2023 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.41 No.2

This article presents a novel notion of hesitant fuzzy cleanly covered in hesitant fuzzy topological spaces;moreover two strong hesitant fuzzy separation axioms are investigated. Based on fuzzy maximal open sets few properties of hesitant fuzzy cleanly covered are obtained. By dint of hesitant fuzzy minimal open and fuzzy maximal closed sets two strong hesitant fuzzy separation axioms are extended.

SOME REMARKS ON FUZZY MEAN OPEN, CLOSED AND CLOPEN SETS

SWAMINATHAN, A.,SANKARI, M. The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2021 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.39 No.5

The purpose of this article is to study few properties of fuzzy mean open and fuzzy mean closed sets in fuzzy topological spaces. Further, the idea of fuzzy mean clopen set is introduced. It is observed that a fuzzy mean clopen set is both fuzzy mean open and fuzzy mean closed but the converse is not true.

      • Clock Gated Multi Coding Technique for the Estimation of Transition Activities in Digital Circuits

        R. Preyadharan,M. Siva Sankari,A.Tamilselvan,K. Rathinakumar,M. Nithiyaa 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.5

In this paper, estimation of transition activity in multi coding technique with the help of hamming code estimator is done and power consumption is reduced using clock gating technique. The VLSI technology allows thousands of transistors in a single chip. In order to integrate more functions in a single chip and to improve their performance, the feature size of the transistors are continue to shrink. This results in maximum power dissipation of the circuit followed by heat removal and cooling of the circuit. The charging and discharging of the internal node capacitance due to transition activity highly contributes to dynamic power dissipation. Mainly the power dissipation occurs due to the transition activity and this can be estimated using hamming code estimator. Coded data is given to the hamming code estimator from each coding type. Estimated code is compared with the help of comparator, this result in analysis of the minimum transition activity for the code in appropriate coding technique. Also clock gating is used to minimize the unnecessary power consumed in the idle state.

Contemporary Unplanned Readmission Trends Following Management of Type B Aortic Dissection

        Ashley J. Williamson,Seth Sankary,Kristine Marie Kuchta,Sara Gaines,Omar Morcos,Benjamin Lind,Luka Pocivavsek,Anahita Dua,Cheong J. Lee 대한혈관외과학회 2022 Vascular Specialist International Vol.38 No.2

Purpose: Large studies have demonstrated improved survival outcomes with thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) at two and five years compared to medical therapy; however, early TEVAR for acute type B aortic dissection (TBAD) remains controversial. We aimed to evaluate trends and clinical predictors of hospital readmissions in patients undergoing medical management and TEVAR for acute TBADs. Materials and Methods: The Nationwide Readmissions Database was queried for all 30-day and 90-day index readmissions (30D-IR and 90D-IR, respectively) after a diagnosis of a TBAD from January 2012 to September 2015. Data on readmission diagnosis, patient demographics, and hospital characteristics were collected from readmitted patients and analyzed. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to identify the predictors of readmission after TEVAR or medical medical management of TBAD. Results: We identified 53,117 patients with acute TBAD. Medical management was the initial treatment modality in 46,985 (88.4%) patients, while 6,132 (11.5%) underwent TEVAR. Factors including older patient age, lower household income, severity of comorbidities, initial hospital length of stay, and urgent procedure demonstrated an increased likelihood of experiencing 30D-IR and 90D-IR (P<0.05). The rate of unplanned readmission for patients undergoing medical management remained stable (11.3% vs. 10.0% for 30D-IR; 19.1% vs. 15.5% for 90D-IR). Reasons for unplanned readmission in the TEVAR cohort were largely related to technical complications. There was no significant difference in readmission costs between medical management and TEVAR. Conclusion: Number of unplanned readmissions in the TEVAR arm decreased significantly over time, whereas the number of readmissions for medical management remained stable.
