        One Parameter Estimation-based Approximation-free Global Adaptive Control of Strict-feedback Nonlinear Systems

        In the existing works, as the number and the dimension of unknown system parameters increases, it normally requires more and more adaptive laws to estimate them, which may dramatically consume limitedly available computational resource and seriously increase large amount of computational time. In this paper, a novel approximation-free global adaptive backstepping control scheme is proposed for nonlinear systems. By estimating the maximum value of the norm (or absolute value) of those unknown parameters instead of unknown parameters themselves, the developed control shows that only one scalar parameter is needed to be updated online and therefore, the computational burden can be greatly reduced. Furthermore, the result is also extended to multi-input multi-output (MIMO) strict-feedback nonlinear systems. A simulation example is presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed schemes.

        중국의 유아미술 전문가가 인식하는 유아미술 창의성의 발현요인 연구: 델파이기법을 활용하여

        본 연구는 중국의 유아미술 전문가들이 인식하는 유아미술 창의성 발현요인을 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 15명의 중국 유아미술 교육전문가를 대상으로 델파이조사를 실시하였다. 총 3차를 걸쳐 진행되었으며, 1차 델파이조사를 통해 전문가의 의견을 수렴하여 2개 영역(개인적 특성, 환경적 특성), 9개 요인(상상력, 호기심, 경험, 유전적 요인, 관찰력, 집중력, 자유로운 환경, 재료, 교육자의 예술적 소양)으로 범주화하였다. 2, 3차의 델파이조사를 통해 분석결과, 개인적 특성 영역에는 상상력, 호기심, 경험, 관찰력, 집중력이 유아미술 창의성 발현의 중요한 요인이며, 환경적 특성 영역에서는 자유로운 환경, 교육자의 예술적 소양이 유아미술 창의성 발현의 중요한 요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 중국 유아미술 창의성 관련 연구를 확장하는데 기초자료로 제공해 줄 것으로 기대해 본다. The purpose of this study is to explore the creative Influencing expression factors of children’s art recognized by Chinese children’s art education experts. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, The Delphi survey was conducted with 15 children’s art experts are taken as the research objects. A Delphi survey was carried out 3 times, Through the first Delphi survey, expert opinions were collected, and the scope was expanded to 2 areas (personal characteristics, environmental characteristics), 9 elements (imagination, curiosity, experience, genetic factors, observation, concentration, free environment, materials, and the artistic literacy of educators). According to the second and third Delphi survey, imagination, curiosity, experience, observation, and concentration are important factors for the creativity of children’s art in the area of personal characteristics. In the area of environmental characteristics, the free environment and the artistic literacy of educators are important factors for the creativity of children’s art. It is expected that these findings will provide basic data for expanding research on the creativity of Chinese children’s art in the future.

        Vibro-acoustic design of plate using bi-material microstructural topology optimization

        This study presents a microstructural topology optimization-based method for dealing with the problem of minimizing the soundpower flow that radiates from a vibrating composite plate. The plate is assumed to be constructed with periodic microstructures that areuniformly distributed over the macrostructural domain. The design variable in this case is the relative material volume density of the unitcell of the microstructure. The equivalent macromaterial properties of the microstructure are calculated using the homogenization method,and the bi-material solid isotropic material with penalization model is employed to achieve a zero-one design at a microscale. The highfrequency approximation formulation and the weak coupling assumption are adopted to achieve an efficient overall analysis and sensitivityanalysis of the coupling system. The proposed method is validated by several numerical examples. Results show that effective vibroacousticisolation may be implemented by the topology design of periodical microstructures.

        Magnetic-field-tuned Insulator to Conductor Transition in Magnetorheological Suspension

        Magnetorheological suspensions (MRSs) are smart materials that have the potential to revolutionize several industrial sectors because of their special rheological behaviors. In this paper, MRS, based on carbonyl iron (CI) microparticles that were dispersed in silicone oil with oleic acid, were prepared. We showed that the electroconductibility of MRS was significantly influenced by the intensity of the external magnetic field that was applied. The resistance value can vary from infinite to below 300 Ω after applying an external magnetic field. The results indicated that this MRS had the property of magnetic-field-tuned insulator to conductor transition. This system has potential applications in controllable MRS electrical devices.

        Novel Dead-time Segmented Compensation Strategy for a Wide Impedance Angle Range in a Three-phase Inverter with a Resistance-Inductance Load

        The dead-time setting in space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) causes inverter output waveform distortion and performance degradation. This paper proposes a novel dead-time segmented compensation strategy for a wide impedance angle range in a three-phase inverter with a resistance-inductance load. Since the load impedance angle ( φ ) of the threephase inverter produces diff erent dead-time eff ects, in this paper, it is divided into two intervals of [0 30°] and [30° 90°] and a corresponding dead-time segmented compensation strategy is proposed, which solves the limitation of the traditional time compensation scheme that analyzes only the resistive load. In addition, this paper uses the conversion relationship between the power factor ( λ ) and φ to determine the current polarity of each sector in the vector space, which avoids the detection error of the current zero-crossing point in the traditional compensation scheme. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate that this method eff ectively reduces the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the inverter output current signal by approximately 30% and is easy to program, which improves the inverter output performance.

        Object Tracking Based on Weighted Local Sub-space Reconstruction Error

        Visual tracking is a challenging task that needs learning an effective model to handle the changes of target appearance caused by factors such as pose variation, illumination change, occlusion and motion blur. In this paper, a novel tracking algorithm based on weighted local sub-space reconstruction error is presented. First, accounting for the appearance changes in the tracking process, a generative weight calculation method based on structural reconstruction error is proposed. Furthermore, a template update scheme of occlusion-aware is introduced, in which we reconstruct a new template instead of simply exploiting the best observation for template update. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm are verified by comparing it with some state-of-the-art algorithms quantitatively and qualitatively.

        Influence of Oleic and Lauric Acid on the Stability of Magnetorheological Fluids

        In this paper, magnetorheological fluids (MRFs) based on micro-sized iron particles dispersed in silicone oil are presented. The iron particles are modified by adding different ratios of oleic acid and lauric acid as surfactants to the suspensions. Lauric acid was found to reduce the stability of the MRFs, and more lauric acid results in a higher rate of sedimentation. Further study showed that the formation and structure of lauric acid may result in the sedimentation of micrometer-sized particles. Meanwhile, the electro-resistance of MRF in this paper shows a decrease from beyond 6000 MΩ to 190 Ω with an increase in the external field from 0 mT to 400 mT.
