Weak Separation Axioms in Generalized Topological Spaces

We show that in quasi-topological spaces, separation axiom $T_2$ is equivalent to ${\alpha}-T_2$, $T_0$ is equivalent to semi - $T_0$, and semi - $T_{\frac{1}{2}}$ is equivalent to semi - $T_D$. Also, we give characterizations for ${\alpha}-T_1$, semi - $T_1$ and semi - $T_{\frac{1}{2}}$ generalized topological spaces.
On statistically sequentially quotient maps

In this paper, we introduce the concept of statistically sequentially quotient map which is a generalization of sequence covering map and discuss the relation with covering maps by some examples. Using this concept, we give an affirmative answer for a question by Fucai Lin and Shou Lin.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P> <I>Origanum vulgare</I> commonly known as oregano belongs to mint family (<I>Laminaceae</I>), and native to temperate western and mediterranean region. In our present study, we have identified the bio-active principles of oregano essential oil (EO) and evaluated its apoptotic effects against human stomach cancer cell lines (AGS). The EO altered colony forming characteristics of cancer cell, migration ability of cancer cell and thus prevented cancer cell proliferation. Furthermore, to evaluate the molecular mechanism involved in cancer cell death, we studied the genes that are involved in fatty acid and cholesterol biosynthesis pathway including 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (<I>HMGCR)</I>, Acetyl CoA synthase <I>(ACC)</I>, sterol regulatory element-binding protein (<I>SPREPB1)</I> and fatty acid synthase (<I>FASN)</I> respectively. The pathway genes such as <I>HMGCR</I>, <I>ACC</I>, <I>SPREPB1</I> and <I>FASN</I> decreased in transcript profile and protein accumulation resulting in the inhibition of cell growth. The increase of <I>BAX</I> expression and downregulation of <I>BCL2</I> expression indicated that oregano EO induced mitochondrial mediated apoptosis. In addition, the cancer cell undergone apoptosis was also confirmed by Hoechst, PI staining and DNA fragmentation. In this paper, we analyze some new properties of nowhere dense and strongly nowhere dense sets. Also, we discuss the images of nowhere dense and strongly nowhere dense sets. Further, we study the properties of weak Baire space in generalized topological spaces.

The utility of both in vitro and in vivo methods to assess the release pattern of alginate, HPMC (TTAL) composite microspheres containing stabilized tetanus toxoid (TT) vaccine were evaluated. TT was stabilized with different concentrations of stabilizer, lactose (1–5%, w/v) and encapsulated into alginate, HPMC composite microspheres by W/O/W multiple emulsion method. The morphology of the prepared microspheres was smooth and spherical in shape with a diameter of around 10 mm. The in vitro release efficiency of microspheres was evaluated for the period of 70 days. In TTAL microspheres, 4% (w/v) lactose gave good sustained antigen delivery for the period of 70 days. Antigen releases from microspheres were determined by ELISA. Based on the results of in vitro release, the ideal batch of TTAL was used to carry out the in vivo studies by antibody induction method using alum adsorbed tetanus toxoid (CRIT) as standard. The antibody level was measured for about of 9 months and finally with one booster dose after 12 months. In this case, TTAL antibody level was rose up to 3 IU/ml of guinea pig serum and 2.5 IU/ml of guinea pig serum was observed in CRIT after 1 year with second booster dose. This novel approach would be helpful to replace the existing adjuvant alum in future.
