Jihad is one of the core ideologies of Islamic extremism. “Jihad” is rich in meaning and controversial, which is the basis for Islamic extremism to alienate “Jihad”. Islamism alienated “jihad” by completely deviating from the spirit of peace of Islam, embezzling historical events and allusions related to Islam, terrorizing jihad and rebuilding caliphate system. The ultimate result of Islamism’s alienation of Islam is that it has formed an independent ideological system, being different from orthodox Islam in religious feelings and experiences, unique ways of activities and independent Islamic extremist organizations, which is why it has become “alienated religion”.

Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs) for inflammatory diseases. In this report, we report a serious adverse event (AE) occurred during the phase I clinical trial for a new sustained-release (SR) formulation of aceclofenac. There was a serious adverse event (AE), agranulocytosis, induced by aceclofenac SR form. An open-labeled, repeated-doses, randomized, crossover study was conducted at Kyung Hee University Hospital and 26 Korean healthy male volunteers were enrolled. All subjects received both aceclofenac SR 200 mg once daily and aceclofenac IR 100 mg twice daily for 4 days with 11 days washout period. After 11 days washout period, one subject showed a serious decrease in the segment neutrophil (267/mm3) on a laboratory test prior to the reference drug administration in period 2. We first report a case of agranulocytosis, during a phase I clinical trial.
Pharmacokinetics and Bio-distribution of New Gd-complexes of DTPA-bis (amide) (L3) in a Rat Model
Gen Yan,장용민,Renhua Wu,강덕식 대한자기공명의과학회 2013 Investigative Magnetic Resonance Imaging Vol.17 No.4
Purpose : To investigate the blood pharmacokinetics and bio-distribution of DTPA-bis-amide (L3) Gd(III) complexes. Materials and Methods: The pharmacokinetics and bio-distribution of Gd (L3)(H2O).nH2O were investigated in Sprague-Dawley rats after intravenous administration at a dose of 0.1 mmol Gd/kg. The Gd content in the blood, various tissues, and organs was determined by ICP-AES. Blood pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated using a two-compartment model. Results: The half-lives of αphase and βphase Gd (L3)(H2O).nH2O were 2.286±0.11 min and 146.1±7.5min, respectively. The bio-distribution properties reveal that the complex is mainly excreted by the renal pathway, and possibly excreted by the hepatobiliary route. The concentration ratio of Gd (III) was significantly higher in the liver and spleen than in other organs, and small amounts of Gd (III) ion were detected in the blood or other tissues of rats only after 7 days of intravenous administration. Conclusion: The MRI contrast agent Gd (L3)(H2O).nH2O provides prolonged blood pool retention in the circulation and then clears rapidly with minimal accumulation of Gd(III) ions. The synthesis of gadolinium complexes with well-balanced lipophilicity and hydrophilicity shows promise for their further development as blood pool MRI contrast agents.

This study aimed to investigate the cognition-enhancing effect of Panax ginseng. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted to address the cognition-enhancing effects of Panax ginseng. A total of 90 Korean volunteers with mild cognitive impairment participated in this study. All subjects were allocated randomly into 'Ginseng' group or 'Placebo' group. All subjects were administered 3g of Panax ginseng powder or starch (placebo) for 6 months. The Korean version of the Mini-Mental Status Examination (K-MMSE), Korean version of Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (K-IADL), and Seoul Neuropsychological Screening Battery (SNSB) were used to assess the changes in cognitive function at the end of the 6 month study period. The subjects of the 'Ginseng' group improved significantly on the Rey Complex Figure Test (RCFT) immediate recall (P = 0.0405 and P = 0.0342 in per-protocol (PP) and intention-to-treat (ITT) analysis, respectively) and on the RCFT 20-min delayed recall (P = 0.0396 and P = 0.0355 in PP and ITT analysis, respectively) compared with 'placebo' group throughout the 6 months of Panax ginseng administration. There were no serious adverse events. These results suggest that Panax ginseng has a cognitionenhancing effect.

A facile and versatile route to prepare porous polymer microparticles with tunable pore size and density through the combination of phase separation and emulsion-solvent evaporation method is demonstrated. When volatile organic solvent (e.g., chloroform) diffuses through the aqueous phase containing poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and evaporates, n-hexadecane (HD) and polystyrene (PS) in oil-in-water emulsion droplets occur to phase separate due to the incompatibility between PS and HD, ultimately yielding microparticles with porous structures. Interestingly, density of the pores (pore number) on the shell of microparticles can be tailored from one to hundreds by simply varying the HD concentration and/or the rate of solvent evaporation. Moreover, this versatile approach for preparing porous microparticles with tunable pore size and density can be applied to other types of hydrophobic polymers, organic solvents, and alkanes, which will find potential applications in the fields of pharmaceutical, catalyst carrier, separation, and diagnostics.
Image-Guided Percutaneous Lipiodol-Pingyangmycin Suspension Injection Therapy for Sacral Chordoma

A 74-year-old man presented with a progressively worsening pain in sacrum and was diagnosed to have a sacral chordoma by biopsy in May, 2004. Percutaneous intratumoral injection with lipiodol-pingyangmycin suspension (LPS) was carried out under image guidance and repeated when the pain in sacrum recurred and the tumor increased. During a 6-year follow-up period, three sessions of this treatment were executed. CT imaging and Karnofsky Performance Score were used to evaluate the size of tumor and quality of life, respectively. The patient was free of pain after each procedure and had a high quality of life with a Karnofsky Performance Score above 80 points. The tumor lesion in sacral area was effectively controlled. No complications were observed. Percutaneous intratumoral injection with LPS under image guidance may be an effective and safe alternative for the patients with sacral chordoma.
