ACTIVE LQR MULTI-AXLE-STEERING METHOD FOR IMPROVING MANEUVERABILITY AND STABILITY OF MULTI-TRAILER ARTICULATED HEAVY VEHICLES

        You-Qun Zhao,Zhao Wen Deng,Qi Xian Zhao,Bao Hua Wang,Wei Gao,Xin Xin Kong 한국자동차공학회 2022 International journal of automotive technology Vol.23 No.4

Directional performance and highway stability are two important aspects that need to be considered in development and design of a heavy articulated vehicles. To improve the maneuverability and stability of a multi-trailer articulated heavy vehicle (MTAHV), an active linear quadratic regulator (LQR) multi-axle-steering method is designed and examined. First, a linear yaw-plane model with four-degree-of freedom (4-DOF) for MTAHV is built and validated. Thus, a reference model supplying the desired state responses is introduced. Then, an active control algorithm of multi-axle-steering for the rear axles of tractor and full-trailer is investigated, and a LQR controller is proposed based on the linear vehicle model to make the control variables track the desired state responses. The control strategy concentrates on keeping the actual yaw rate and side-slip angle follow the steady-state yaw rate and zero side-slip angle. Finally, the effectiveness of the designed approach on enhancing the maneuverability and stability of the MTAHV have been validated through the simulations of the low-speed 360o roundabout and the single lane-change maneuver with high speed, respectively. The method has a certain reference value for improving the active safety of the MTAHV.

      • RAMS evaluation for a steel-truss arch high-speed railway bridge based on SHM system

        Zhao, Han-Wei,Ding, You-Liang,Geng, Fang-Fang,Li, Ai-Qun Techno-Press 2018 Structural monitoring and maintenance Vol.5 No.1

The evaluation theory of reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) as a mature theory of state evaluation in the railway engineering, can be well used to the evaluation, management, and maintenance of complicated structure like the long-span bridge structures on the high-speed railway. Taking a typical steel-truss arch bridge on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, the Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge, this paper developed a new method of state evaluation for the existing steel-truss arch high-speed railway bridge. The evaluation framework of serving state for the bridge structure is presented based on the RAMS theory. According to the failure-risk, safety/availability, maintenance of bridge members, the state evaluation method of each monitoring item is presented. The weights of the performance items and the monitoring items in all evaluation levels are obtained using the analytic hierarchy process. Finally, the comprehensive serving state of bridge structure is hierarchical evaluated.

      • S100A14 Promotes the Growth and Metastasis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Zhao, Fu-Tao,Jia, Zhan-Sheng,Yang, Qun,Song, Le,Jiang, Xiao-Jing Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.6

Background: S100A14 has recently been implicated in the progress of several types of cancers. This study aimed to investigate the clinical significance and possible mechanisms of action of S100A14 in the invasion and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: S100A14 expression in HCC was detected at mRNA and protein levels and its prognostic significance was assessed. Functional roles of S100A14 in HCC were investigated using MTT, BrdU, wound healing, transwell invasion assay and HCC metastatic mouse model. Results: S100A14 was significantly elevated in HCC tissues, correlated with multiple tumor nodes, high Edmondson-Steiner grade and vascular invasion. Multivariate Cox analysis showed that the S100A14 expression level was a significant and independent prognostic factor for overall survival (OS) of HCC patients (hazard ratio=1.98, 95% confidence interval=1.14-3.46, P=0.013). S100A14 promoted cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis of HCC in vitro and in vivo. Conclusion: These results suggest S100A14 is a novel prognostic marker and therapeutic target for HCC.

Static and Cyclic Tension Behavior of Post-Installed Rebar after Exposure to High Temperature

Qun Xie,Song Xue,Yongqiang Zhao 대한토목학회 2020 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.24 No.6

In order to investigate the static and cyclic tension behavior of post-installed rebar along with cement-based adhesive that is adopted after exposure to high temperature, a three-phase experimental program has been carried out and two typical embedment depths, 10d and 15dare designed. The surfaces of specimens are firstly heated up to 800oC, and then the residual strength at different temperatures of cement-based adhesive has been studied by consequent static pull-out tests. Experimental results show that the tensile strength has a significant reduction at elevated temperatures compared with that of room temperature. The cement-based adhesive has almost lost its full bond strength when the temperature exceeds 350oC. Finally, the bond performance of cement-based adhesive under cyclic loading has been further tested and analyzed. It is found that both 10d and 15d specimens have failed abruptly with rebar pull-out. The employment of long embedment depth has been verified to be an effective method to improve the bond performance of cement-based adhesive under static and cyclic loading. Static numerical investigation indicates that the bond stress distribution is not uniform along the embedment length of post-installed rebar at different temperatures of cement-based adhesive. The temperature-dependent tensile strength prediction has also been obtained based on the experimental data.

The preparation of alginate–AgNPs composite fiber with green approach and its antibacterial activity

        Xihui Zhao,Qun Li,Xiaomei Ma,Wanying Liu,Jianping Wang,Yanzhi Xia 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.24 No.-

Antibacterial alginate fibers containing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been prepared in this work. Firstly, AgNPs colloid solution was obtained employing alginate as stabilizing agent and glucose as reducing agent. Then, sodium alginate powder was directly added to the above solution and the resultant sodium alginate–AgNPs spinning dope was spun to prepare alginate–AgNPs composite fibers. The fibers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and thermal gravimetric analysis (TG). Mechanical properties of the fibers were also measured. The antimicrobial properties were investigated by Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and the results indicated that the composite fibers showed strong antibacterial activity.

      • A Clinical Study on an Acute Therapy for Recovering the Normal Physiology in Narcotists using Tuo Yin Tang Jiang made of Chinese Medical Herbs

Yu, Zhao-Qun,Lee, Jong-Il The Plant Resources Society of Korea 2001 Plant Resources Vol.4 No.2

Narcotic drugs generally refer to serious and habitual hidden rash such as opium, heroin, methyphetamin, nabinol, cocaine, and so forth. At present, narcotic drugs are spread unchecked and are causing a big social problem. So many countries and narcotists are making every effort to set up a barricade against narcotic drugs. And there is a limit suitable treatment for them. Thus Tuo Yin Tang Jiang is developed. As indicated by Chinese letters, Tuo Yin Tang Jiang(TYTJ) is a crude drug. It is a traditional chinese medicine developed by the study done from June in 1998 to June in 1999 that Hubeisheng was entrusted with by People's Republic of China. This study is a treatise on etiology and syntomatology of narcotism. TYTJ is a medicine which is in accord with Pharmacopeia of the People's Republic of Chinal) in order to remove from the body the toxic materials resulting from narcotic drugs such as opium and heroin. According to the standard diagnosis on narcotism, 105 cases are studied and treated at the Rehabilitation Center attached to Enshi Autonomous Region Hospital in Hubeisheng. 105 cases are divided into 2 groups by double-blind method. One is the experimental group which has 56 cases. The other is the control group which has 49 ones.13 cases among 105 cases are addicted by intravenously injections. 9 cases are by oral takings. It took 10 days for this experiment to be performed. Two groups didn't show a striking individual variation based on the age, gender, period of taking drugs, withdrawal symptoms, complication, and state of health. The experimental group had a higher effect of treatment than the control group had. TYTJ treats diseases effectively and has no side effect, irrespective of the serious or slight addiction to opium and morphine.

Live/Dead State Is Not the Factor Influencing Adhesion Ability of Bifidobacterium animalis KLDS2.0603

        Li-Qun Wang,Feng Zhao,Fei Liu,Xiang-Chen Meng 한국미생물학회 2013 The journal of microbiology Vol.51 No.5

Two essential requirements for probiotic bifidobacteria are that they be “live” and have “colonization” ability, following FAO/WHO guideline recommendations. The amount of research on the adhesion ability of bifidobacteria compares poorly with that of other probiotic bacteria, such as lactobacilli. The aim of the present study was to determine how gastrointestinal conditions affect the adhesion ability of bifidobacteria, and to investigate the relationship between the adhesion ability and the live/dead state of bifidobacteria. The adhesion ability of Bifidobacterium animalis KLDS2.0603that had been subjected to the digestive enzymes, pepsin, trypsin, and proteinase K, was decreased significantly, but these treatments did not significantly change the strain’s survival rates, which were 98.78%, 97.60%, and 97.63%respectively. B. animalis KLDS2.0603 subjected to LiCl retained its adhesion ability but had a lower survival rate (59.28%) than the control group (P<0.01). B. animalis KLDS 2.0603 subjected to sodium metaperiodate exhibited higher adhesion ability than the control group (P<0.01), but the bacterial cells were killed totally. The results of transmission electron microscopy and laser scanning confocal microscopy showed that live/dead state of bifidobacteria was not one of the main factors that affected the adhesion ability of bifidobacteira, and that the substances affecting the adhesion ability of bifidobacteria were on the outer surface layer of the bifidobacterial cells. Our results also indicated that the substances related to the adhesion ability of bifidobacteria are proteinaceous. The above results will help us to understand the adhesion and colonization processes of bifidobacteria in the human gastrointestinal tract.

TRANSIENT DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF A NON-PNEUMATIC MECHANICAL ELASTIC WHEEL ROLLING OVER A DITCH

        You-Qun Zhao,Yao-Ji Deng,Fen Lin,Ming-Min Zhu,Zhen Xiao 한국자동차공학회 2018 International journal of automotive technology Vol.19 No.3

The transient dynamic characteristic of a tire, which has a significant effect on vehicle handling stability and ride comfort, is difficult to study in detail because of its highly non-linear behavior. In this study, the transient dynamic characteristics of a non-pneumatic wheel, called the mechanical elastic wheel (MEW), which was rolling over a ditch were investigated by the explicit dynamic finite element (FE) method. A three-dimensional FE model of MEW considering geometric nonlinearity, material nonlinearity and large contact deformation between the wheel and the road, was established. For the validation of the accuracy and reliability of the FE model of MEW, the simulation and the experimental results of the radial stiffness and footprint of MEW were compared and analyzed. A dynamic simulation of the validated FE model of MEW rolling over a ditch was conducted using the ABAQUS/Explicit program. The equivalent stress and the contact stress generated during the process of the rolling MEW impacting the ditch were studied in detail. The effect of the rolling speed on the transient dynamic characteristics was also analyzed based on the simulation results. The simulation results could provide guidance for the optimization of the MEW structure and vehicle dynamics.
