        Association between Working Hours and Anxiety/Depression of Medical Staff during Large-Scale Epidemic Outbreak of COVID-19: A Cross-Sectional Study

        Objective This present study aimed to investigate the relationship between working hours and anxiety/depression mood of medical staff in China during COVID-19 epidemic. Methods The cross-sectional interview study was conducted during the period between February 14th and February 29th, 2020. A total of 291 Chinese medical professionals were recruited from 4 cities and participated in the study. Results In 291 participants, 116 (40.0%) medical staff experienced anxiety and 151 (51.8%) underwent depressed mood. In male, the level of GAD-7 and PHQ-9 scores increased with the elevation of working hours per day (WHPD) (β=0.579, p=0.003 and β=0.943; p=0.001) respectively. In female, nonlinear relationship mode was demonstrated. The levels of GAD-7 and PHQ-9 scores increased with the elevation of working hours when it was above 5 hours (β=1.432; p<0.001 and β=1.177; p<0.001), but it did not have a significant association with WHPD when it was less than 5 (p>0.05). Conclusion During the COVID-19 epidemic, we found a strong correlation between the psychological mood and WHPD. The correlation followed different modes in male and female medical workers. Enforcing an upper time limit of WHPD may help decrease the risk of pandemic-related psychological problems in medical workers.

        Repetitive Control with Specific Harmonic Gain Compensation for Cascaded Inverters under Rectifier Loads

        The further improvement of submarine propulsion is associated with the modularity of accumulator-fed inverters, such as cascaded inverters (CIs). CI technology guarantees smooth output voltages with reduced switch frequencies under linear loads. However, the output voltages of CIs are distorted under rectifier loads. This distortion requires harmonic suppression technology. One such technology is the repetitive controller (RC), which is commonly applied but suffers from poor performance in propulsion systems. In this study, the FFT spectrum of a CI under rectifier load is analyzed, and the harmonic contents are uneven in magnitude. For the purpose of harmonic suppression, the control gains at each harmonic frequency should be seriously considered. A RC with a specific harmonic gain compensation (SHGC) for CIs is proposed. This method provides additional control gains at low-order harmonic frequencies, which are difficult to achieve with conventional RCs. This SHGC consists of a band-pass filter (BPF) and proportional element and is easy to implement. These features make the proposed method suitable for submarine propulsion. Experimental results verify the feasibility of the improved RC.

        Joint Uplink and Downlink Resource Allocation in Data and Energy Integrated Communication Networks

        In this paper, we propose a joint power control strategy for both the uplink and downlink transmission by considering the energy requirements of the user equipments` uplink data transmissions in data and energy integrated communication networks (DEINs). In DEINs, the base station (BS) adopts the power splitting (PS) aided simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) technique in the downlink (DL) transmissions, while the user equipments (UEs) carry out their own uplink (UL) transmissions by exploiting the energy harvested during the BS`s DL transmissions. In our DEIN model, there are UEs served by the BS in order to fulfil both of their DL and UL transmissions. The orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) technique is adopted for supporting the simultaneous transmissions of multiple UEs. Furthermore, a transmission frame is divided into time slots in the medium access control (MAC) layer. The mathematical model is established for maximizing the sum-throughput of the UEs` DL transmissions and for ensuring their fairness during a single transmission frame , respectively. In order to achieve these goals, in each transmission frame T, we optimally allocate the BS`s power for each subcarrier and the PS factor for each UE during a specific time slot. The original optimisation problems are transformed into convex forms, which can be perfectly solved by convex optimisation theories. Our numerical results compare the optimal results by conceiving the objective of maximising the sum-throughput and those by conceiving the objective of maximising the fair-throughput. Furthermore, our numerical results also reveal the inherent tradeoff between the DL and the UL transmissions.

        Cloning and Characterization of hydroxypyruvate isomerase (EC 5.3.1.22) gene in silkworm Bombyx mori

        The sequence of hydroxypyruvate isomerase gene was obtained in NCBI. In this study, the hydroxypyruvate isomerase gene of Bombyx.mori was identified and annotated with bioinformatics tools. The result was confirmed by RT-PCR, prokaryotic expression, mass spectrographic analysis and sub-cellular localization. The hydroxypyruvate isomerase cDNA comtains a 783bp ORF, and has 4 exons. The deduced protein has 260 amino acid residues with the predicted molecular weight of 29169.30 Da, isoelectric point of 6.10, and contains conserved PRK09997 and Hfi domains. The hydroxypyruvate isomerases of Nasonia vitripennis and Bombyx mori have a high homology. Through RTPCR analysis, we found that this transcript was present in testis, ovary, blood-lymph, fat body, midgut, silk gland and tuba Malpighii. This protein was located in cytoplasm through immunohistochemistry. We submitted the cloned gene under the accession number EU344910. The enzyme has been classified under accession number EC 5.3.1.22.

        The effects of dantrolene and 2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borate (2-APB) on arsenic-induced osteoporosis

        Background Arsenic can increase the risk of osteoporosis among the population in arsenic–endemic areas compared with the general population in non-endemic areas. And calcium overload is the related mechanisms of arsenic-induced osteoporosis However, there is a relative lack of clinical research on the treatment of arsenic-induced osteoporosis. Dantrolene and 2-APB, as Ca 2+ infl ux inhibitor, can reduce calcium overload and play an important role in the excitation–contraction coupling of skeletal muscle. Therefore, we study the eff ects of dantrolene and 2-APB on arsenic-induced osteoporosis in this study. Objective To study the eff ects of arsenic on the trabeculae of rats, and observe the eff ects of dantrolene and 2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borate (2-APB) on the trabeculae. Results Compared with the control group, some indices of micro-CT (BV/TV, Tb.Th, Tb.N, BMD, and DA) and the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity of bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) decreased, while some indices of micro-CT (Tb.Sp, Tb.Pf, and SMI), biochemical indicators (ALT, AST, ALP, and GGT), and the Ca 2+ concentration of BMSCs increased in the Sodium arsenite (NaAsO 2 ) group ( P < 0.05). Compared with the NaAsO 2 group, the indices of micro-CT and biochemical indicators improved, the Ca 2+ concentration of BMSCs decreased, and the ALP activity of BMSCs increased in the dantrolene group, 2-APB group and dantrolene + 2-APB group ( P < 0.05), especially dantrolene + 2-APB group. Conclusion NaAsO 2 can lead to osteoporosis in rats, dantrolene and 2-APB can reduce the degree of arsenic-induced osteoporosis.

      • Characteristic and magnetic field analysis of a high temperature superconductor axial-flux coreless induction maglev motor

        <P>A new high temperature superconductor axial-flux coreless maglev motor (HTS AFIM) is proposed, of which the primary windings are made of HTS tapes and the secondary is a non-magnetic conductor. The main works of this paper are the magnetic-field computation and characteristics analysis of HTS AFIM. For the first one, the reduction of magnetic fields near outer and inner radius of the HTS AFIM is solved by introducing the sub-loop electro-magnetic model along the radial position. For the second one, the AC losses of HTS coils are calculated. The relationships between the device's characteristics and device parameters are presented, and the results indicate that under certain frequency and current levitation device can output enough lift force. The conclusions are verified by finite element calculations.</P>

        3D Flower-Like Hierarchical Ag@nickel-cobalt Hydroxide Microsphere with Enhanced Electrochemical Properties

        The morphology and electrical conductivity are essential toelectrochemical performance of electrode materials in renewableenergy conversion and storage technologies such as fuel cells andsupercapacitors. Here, we explored a facile method to growAg@nickel-cobalt layered double hydroxide (Ag@Ni/Co-LDHs) with3D flower-like microsphere structure. The results show themorphology of Ni/Co-LDHs varies with the introduction of Agspecies. The prepared Ag@Ni/Co-LDHs not only exhibits an openhierarchical structure with high specific capacitance but also showsgood electrical conductivity to support fast electron transport. Benefiting from the unique structural features, these flower-likeAg@Ni/Co-LDHs microspheres have impressive specific capacitanceas high as 1768 F g−1 at 1 A g−1. It can be concluded that engineeringthe structure of the electrode can increase the efficiency of the specificcapacitance as a battery-type electrode for hybrid supercapacitors.

        MicroRNA-129-5p inhibits 3T3-L1 preadipocyte proliferation by targeting G3BP1

        MicroRNAs have been regarded to play a crucial role in the proliferation of different cell types including preadipocytes. In our study, we observed that miR-129-5p was down-regulated during 3T3-L1 preadipocyte proliferation, while the expression of G3BP1 showed a contrary tendency. 5- Ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine (EdU) incorporation assay and flow cytometry showed that overexpression of miR-129-5p could bring about a reduction in S-phase cells and G2-phase arrest. Additional study indicated that miR-129-5p impaired cell cycle-related genes in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. Importantly, it showed that miR-129-5p directly targeted the 3′UTR of G3BP1 and the expression of G3BP1 was inhibited by miR-129-5p mimic. Moreover, miR-129-5p mimic activated the p38 signaling pathway through up-regulating p38 and the phosphorylation level of p38. In a word, results in our study revealed that miR-129-5p suppressed preadipocyte proliferation via targeting G3BP1 and activating the p38 signaling pathway.

        Screening and production of dsRNA molecules for protecting Cucumis sativus against Cucumber mosaic virus through foliar application

        Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), which is one of the most prevalent plant viruses, harms many crops around the word. Although CMV causes severe economic losses to agriculture, successful prevention and treatment strategies are lacking. RNA interference (RNAi) is a promising strategy for the control of CMV because of its impressive specificity and sustain- ability. Here, a bacterial expression approach was conducted to produce hairpin RNA, and the best expression conditions to produce a high yield of dsRNA were explored. The highest expression of dsRNA in Escherichia coli HT115 was achieved at 37 °C using 2 mM IPTG and 17 h post-induction. For resistance analysis, six dsRNA molecules were constructed for CMV 1a, 2a, 3a and coat protein (CP). In cucumber (Cucumis sativus), foliar application of dsRNA preparations derived from CMV-1a and CMV-2a proteins conferred efficient protection against CMV. Our findings confirm that the exogenous application of dsRNA with a bacterial prokaryotic expression system could be a powerful biotechnological tool to protect plants against virus infections.

        Preparation and enhanced CO2 adsorption capacity of UiO-66/graphene oxide composites

        New composites of UiO-66 and graphene oxide (GO) were synthesized and tested as CO2 adsorbents atroom temperature. The materials and the parent composite components were characterized using X-raydiffraction (XRD), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), nitrogen adsorption–desorption isothermanalysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and FT-IR spectroscopy. The CO2 isotherms on theUiO-66/GO composites and the UiO-66 were measured by a static volumetric method separately. Experiments of multiple adsorption/desorption cycles were conducted to estimate reversibility of CO2on the UiO-66/GO. The results showed that the BET surface area of the composites was higher than thatof the parent UiO-66, and the adsorption capacities of CO2 on the composites were greatly higher thanthat on the UiO-66 sample. The composite UiO-66/GO-5 exhibited the maximum CO2 uptake of3.37 mmol/g at 298 K and 1 bar, which increased by 48% in comparison with that of the UiO-66, and wasmuch higher than those of the conventional activated carbons and the zeolites. The CO2 adsorptioncapacity was dependent on the BET surface area and the micropore volume of the composites. Finally, theadsorption/desorption cycle experiment revealed that the adsorption performance of UiO-66/GO-5 wasfairly stable, without noticeable degradation in the adsorption capacity of CO2 after 6 cycles. Therefore,this kind of composites has a potential application on CO2 capture technologies to mitigate globalwarming.
