        Sphingomonas abietis sp. nov., an Endophytic Bacterium Isolated from Korean Fir

        PAMB 00755T , a bacterial strain, was isolated from Korean fir leaves. The strain exhibits yellow colonies and consists of Gram-negative, non-motile, short rods or ovoid-shaped cells. It displays optimal growth conditions at 20°C, 0% NaCl, and pH 6.0. Results of 16S rRNA gene-based phylogenetic analyses showed that strain PAMB 00755T was most closely related to Sphingomonas chungangi MAH-6T (97.7%) and Sphingomonas polyaromaticivorans B2-7T (97.4%), and ≤96.5% sequence similarity to other members of the genus Sphingomonas. The values of average nucleotide identity (79.9–81.3%), average amino acid identity (73.3–75.9%), and digital DNA–DNA hybridization (73.3– 75.9%) were significantly lower than the threshold values for species boundaries; these overall genome-related indexes (OGRI) analyses indicated that the strain represents a novel species. Genomic analysis revealed that the strain has a 4.4-Mbp genome encoding 4,083 functional genes, while the DNA G+C content of the whole genome is 66.1%. The genome of strain PAMB 00755T showed a putative carotenoid biosynthetic cluster responsible for its antioxidant activity. The respiratory quinone was identified as ubiquinone 10 (Q-10), while the major fatty acids in the profile were identified as C18:1ω7c and/or C18:1ω6c (summed feature 8). The major polar lipids of strain PAMB 00755T were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, sphingoglycolipid, and phosphatidylcholine. Based on a comprehensive analysis of genomic, phenotypic, and chemotaxonomic characteristics, we proposed the name Sphingomonas abietis sp. nov. for this novel species, with PAMB 00755T as the type strain (= KCTC 92781T = GDMCC 1.3779T ).

        Numerical investigation of dual-fuel direct injection on RCCI combustion performance at low load condition

        A numerical study was performed to investigate the combustion characteristics of hydrogenated catalytic biodiesel (HCB)/gasoline reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI) with dual-fuel direct injection at low load condition. The results indicated that compared with the conventional port injection RCCI, the dual-fuel direct injection can effectively control the distribution of in-cylinder gasoline mixture and improve the incomplete combustion phenomenon. The delay of start of injection (SOI) of gasoline can weaken stratified combustion, shorten combustion duration, reduce combustion efficiency, decrease NOx emission and increase soot emission. In contrast, the delay of SOI of HCB can intensify stratified combustion, prolong combustion duration, increase combustion efficiency, increase NOx emission and reduce soot emission. Compared with gasoline injection timing, HCB injection timing has a more profound effect on combustion efficiency and indicated thermal efficiency. When HCB injection timing was in the range of -25° ATDC (after top dead center) to -20° ATDC and gasoline injection timing of -50° ATDC to -45°ATDC, the engine has a better performance, with the combustion efficiency about 94 %, the indicated thermal efficiency around 45 %, and the NOx and soot emissions in the original exhaust less than the limit value of Euro VI standard.

        Experimental study on the gas jet characteristics of a diesel-piloted direct-injection natural gas engine

        The natural gas (NG) jet characteristics of NG/diesel dual-fuel injection under different NG injection pressures and dual-fuel injection intervals were studied in a constant volume chamber. The schlieren images showed that the development of NG jet was restricted in both axial and radial directions by diesel spray under dual-fuel injection conditions. Consistently, dual-fuel injection reduced NG jet tip penetration, NG jet cone angle and NG jet volume, yet increased average fuel-air equivalent ratio, compared to NG single-fuel injection. The increase of NG injection pressure from 3 MPa to 5 MPa enhanced NG jet tip penetration and NG jet volume, yet decreased jet cone angle under both single-fuel and dual-fuel injection conditions. The negative effects of diesel spray on NG jet became gradually reduced with the increase of injection interval. When the injection interval was longer than 1.5 ms, NG jet characteristics were close to those under single-fuel conditions.

        A Study on the Urban Governance in Zibo City, China

        With the continued development of urbanization, modern urban society faces great opportunities and challenges. Urban governance is a pluralistic urban development and management process that has a significant impact on the competitiveness and sustainability of cities and the lives of residents. This study examined the key role of local governance theory in modern urban governance through an analysis of the case of Zibo City, China, which is evaluated as an example of successful urban governance. Existing studies analyzed that Zibo City's urban governance achieved results in improving the level of urban management, building a city brand, social participation, and forming social capital. This study set the main subjects of Zibo City's urban governance case as the government, social organizations, companies, and citizens, and analyzed the interactions between the main subjects from various angles. Through the analysis, it was found that Zibo City's urban governance structure has characteristics such as pluralism, cooperation, and networks, and that efficient cooperative relationships are formed between the government and other entities. Additionally, the key elements of building urban governance in Zibo City are as follows: First, active participation of residents and related organizations. Second, the exchange of information is based on mutual trust between participating entities. Third, an effective cooperation network through the establishment of horizontal partnerships. Zibo City's urban governance played an important role in resolving various problems that arose in the process of building the Barbecue City brand.

        Diversity and Chemical Defense Role of Culturable Non-Actinobacterial Bacteria Isolated from the South China Sea Gorgonians

        The diversity of culturable non-actinobacterial (NA) bacteria associated with four species of South China Sea gorgonians was investigated using culture-dependent methods followed by analysis of the bacterial 16S rDNA sequence. A total of 76 bacterial isolates were recovered and identified, which belonged to 21 species of 7 genera, and Bacillus was the most diverse genus. Fifty-one percent of the 76 isolates displayed antibacterial activities, and most of them belonged to the Bacillus genus. From the culture broth of gorgonian-associated Bacillus methylotrophicus SCSGAB0092 isolated from gorgonian Melitodes squamata, 11 antimicrobial lipopeptides including seven surfactins and four iturins were obtained. These results imply that Bacillus strains associated with gorgonians play roles in coral defense mechanisms through producing antimicrobial substances. This study, for the first time, compares the diversity of culturable NA bacterial communities among four species of South China Sea gorgonians and investigates the secondary metabolites of gorgonian-associated B. methylotrophicus SCSGAB0092.

        중국 역사문화도시보호제도의 특징에 관한 연구

        (Purpose) China's famous historical and cultural city protection system is the result of the combination of the international environmental change led by UNESCO and the change of domestic understanding of historical and cultural heritage. Through this analysis of China's famous historical and cultural city protection system, institutional improvements are drawn, and improvement measures to solve them and desirable development directions in consideration of the social environment are sought. China's famous historical and cultural city protection system can provide meaningful policy implications for countries that are implementing similar protection systems or are planning to implement them in the future. (Design/methodology/approach) This study examines the overall transition process of China's famous historical and cultural city protection system at the national level and classifies the development stage based on the change in the protection system. It also analyzes the size and effectiveness of the designation of all national level famous historical and cultural cities. At the local level, the problems of the protection system of the famous historical and cultural cities will be identified through a detailed analysis of the protection ordinances of the famous historical and cultural cities with a relatively superior cultural value and management level among national level famous historical and cultural cities. (Findings) To improve the management mode of famous historical and cultural cities, First, it is necessary to implement the exit system and follow-up management of famous historical and cultural cities. Second, we should pay attention to the protection of intangible cultural heritage with dynamic characteristics. Third, in the process of establishing protection regulations, expanding the participation of residents, encouraging the activities of non-governmental protection organizations, and ensure the diversification of protection financial resources. (Research implications or Originality) The protection and utilization of famous historical and cultural cities are not antagonistic. In the long run, the increase of the cultural value of historical and cultural heritage and sustainable regional development will go hand in hand in the protection and utilization of famous historical and cultural cities in China.

        Numerical simulation on mining effect influenced by a normal fault and its induced effect on rock burst

        The study of the mining effect influenced by a normal fault has great significance concerning the prediction and prevention of fault rock burst. According to the occurrence condition of a normal fault, the stress evolution of the working face and fault plane, the movement characteristics of overlying strata, and the law of fault slipping when the working face advances from footwall to hanging wall are studied utilizing UDEC numerical simulation. Then the inducing-mechanism of fault rock burst is revealed. Results show that in pre-mining, the in situ stress distribution of two fault walls in the fault-affected zone is notably different. When the working face mines in the footwall, the abutment stress distributes in a "double peak" pattern. The ratio of shear stress to normal stress and the fault slipping have the obvious spatial and temporal characteristics because they vary gradually from the higher layer to the lower one orderly. The variation of roof subsidence is in S-shape which includes slow deformation, violent slipping, deformation induced by the hanging wall strata rotation, and movement stability. The simulation results are verified via several engineering cases of fault rock burst. Moreover, it can provide a reference for prevention and control of rock burst in a fault-affected zone under similar conditions.

        중국 쯔보시의 도시 거버넌스 연구

        도시화의 지속적인 발전에 따라 현대의 도시 사회는 커다란 기회와 도전에 직면해 있다. 도시 거버넌스는 다원적인 도시개발과 관리과정으로서 도시의 경쟁력, 지속가능성 및 주민의 삶에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 본 연구는 성공적인 도시 거버넌스의 사례로 평가받고 있는 중국 쯔보시의 사례에 대한 분석을 통해서 현대 도시 거버넌스에서 로컬 거버넌스 이론의 핵심적인 역할을 고찰하였다. 기존의 연구들은 쯔보시의 도시 거버넌스가 도시관리 수준의 향상, 도시 브랜드의 구축, 사회참여 및 사회적 자본 형성 등에 있어서 성과를 거둔 것으로 분석하였다. 본 연구는 쯔보시의 도시 거버넌스 사례의 주요 주체를 정부, 사회단체, 기업, 시민 등으로 설정하고, 주요 주체들 간의 상호작용에 대해서 다각적으로 분석하였다. 분석을 통해서 쯔보시의 도시 거버넌스 구조는 다원화, 협력, 네트워크 등의 특징을 가지고 있으며, 정부와 다른 주체들 간에 효율적인 협력관계가 형성되어 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 쯔보시의 도시 거버넌스 구축의 핵심 요소는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주민과 관련 기관의 적극적인 참여. 둘째, 참여주체 간 상호신뢰를 바탕으로 한 정보의 교환. 셋째, 수평적 파트너십 구축을 통한 효과적인 협력 네트워크. 쯔보시 도시 거버넌스는 바비큐 도시 브랜드 구축 과정에서 발생한 다양한 문제 해결에 있어서 중요한 역할을 하였다.
