Nonlinear Rank Statistics for the Simple Tree Alternatives
Park, Sang-Gue,Kim, Tai-Kyoo The Korean Society for Quality Management 1989 품질경영학회지 Vol.17 No.2
Nonlinear rank statistics for the simple tree alternatives problem are considered. Pitman efficiencies between several procedures are studied. A new maximin procedure is suggested and shown to have good efficiency properties. Additionally, it is desirable to terminate the experiment early comparing well known rank statistics or multiple comparison test statistics.
Clinical Study and Review of Articles (Korean) about Retrorectal Developmental Cysts in Adults
Sung Wook Baek,Haeng Ji Kang,Ji Yong Yoon,Do Youn Whang,Duk Hoon Park,Seo Gue Yoon,Hyun Sik Kim,Jong Kyun Lee,Jung Dal Lee,KwangYunKim 대한대장항문학회 2011 Annals of Coloproctolgy Vol.27 No.6
Purpose: A retrorectal developmental cyst (tailgut cyst, epidermoid cyst, dermoid cyst, teratoma, and duplication) is very rare disease, and the symptoms are not characteristic so that sometimes this disease is still misdiagnosed as a supralevator abscess or a complex anal fistula. We would like to present a clinical approach to this disease. Methods: We retrospectively examined the charts of 15 patients who were treated for retrorectal cysts from January 2001 to November 2009. Results: All 15 patients were female. The average age was 41 years (range, 21 to 60 years). Fourteen patients (93.3%) were symptomatic, and the most common symptom was anal pain or discomfort. Nine patients (60%) had more than one previ- ous operation (range, 1 to 9 times) for a supralevator abscess, an anal fistula, etc. In 12 patients (80%), the diagnosis could be made by using the medical history and physical examination. Thirteen cysts (80%) were excised completely through the posterior approach. The average diameter of the cysts was 4.8 cm (range, 2 to 10 cm). Pathologic diagnoses were 8 tailgut cysts (53.3%), 5 epidermoid cysts (33.3%) and 2 dermoid cysts (13.3%). The average follow-up period was 18.3 months (range, 1 to 64 months). Conclusion: In our experience, high suspicion and physical examination are the most important diagnostic methods. If a female patient has a history of multiple perianal operations, a retrorectal bulging soft mass, a posterior anal dimple, and no conventional creamy foul odorous pus in drainage, the possibility of a retrorectal developmental cyst must be considered. Assessing Bioequivalence of Variabilities in $2{\times}2$ Crossover Design
Park, Sang-Gue,Jang, Jung-Hoon 한국데이터정보과학회 2007 한국데이터정보과학회지 Vol.18 No.3
Several statistical procedures for assessment of bioequivalence of variabilities between two drug formulations in bioequivalence trials are reviewed and modified methods for assessing total variability are suggested. The problem of the current US FDA aggregate criterion for population bioequivalence and the necessity of disaggregate criterion are discussed with an illustrated example.
On Sample Size Determination of Bioequivalence Trials
Park, Sang-Gue 한국데이터정보과학회 2007 한국데이터정보과학회지 Vol.18 No.2
Sample size determination plays an important role in designing a bioequivalence trial. Formulae of sample sizes based on Schuirmann's two one-sided tests procedures are given for bioequivalence studies with the $2{\times}2$ crossover design and two-sample parallel design. A practical discussion for the relationship among these formulae is given.
Case Reports : Two Cases of Giant Epidermal Cyst Occurring in the Neck
( Sang Gue Kang ),( Chul Han Kim ),( Hong Ki Cho ),( Mi Youn Park ),( Yoon Jin Lee ),( Moon Kyun Cho ) 대한피부과학회 2011 Annals of Dermatology Vol.23 No.1S
Epidermal cysts are the most common cysts of the skin. A conventional epidermal cyst rarely reaches a size of more than 5 cm in diameter. We report on two cases of giant epidermal cyst occurring in the neck. One patient had a cyst measuring 12×9×9 cm and the other patient had a non-pulsatile, dome-shaped lesion in the neck, which measured 6×5×3 cm. The lesions were totally excised. Histopathologically, both were confirmed as giant epidermal cysts. (Ann Dermatol 23(S1) S135~S138, 2011)
Effects of Ampelopsis Radix Extracts on Tumor Immunity
Park Seung Man,Cho Jung Hyo,Son Chang Gue,Shin Jang Wo,Lee Yeon Weo,Yoo Hwa Seung,Lee Nam Heon,Yun Dam Hee,Ahn Sang Woo,Cho Chong Kwan The Society of Korean Medicine 2005 대한한의학회지 Vol.26 No.4
Objectives: This experimental study was carried out to evaluate the immune modulating and anti-tumor activity of Ampelopsis Radix extracts (ARE). Materials and Methods: To elucidate the effects of ARE on the macrophage and NK cell activity, we analyzed NO production, NK cytotoxicity and gene expressions of cytokine related with macrophage and NK cell activity. Results: ARE activated and promoted macrophages to product NO in part. And, ARE has significant properties to activate macrophages and NK cells by promoting related cytokines like IL-1, IL-12, IFN-$\gamma$, iNOS and TNF-$\alpha$ gene expressions. We also observed that ARE promoted protein expression of IFN-$\gamma$, and TNF-$\alpha$ in mice splenocytes. Conclusions: ARE is an effective herbal drug for immune modulating and anti-cancer by promoting activity of macrophages and NK cells.

A modified Anderson and Hauck(1983) test for analyzing a two-sequence two-period crossover design in bioequivalence trials is proposed when some observations at the second period are missing. It is based on the maximum likelihood estimators of average bioequivalence model and designed for handling missing at random(MAR) situation. The performance of the proposed test is compared to other tests using Monte Carlo simulations.
