Abstract - Recently, the IP multicast providing point-to-multpoint delivery has received wide concerns due to the ever increasing applications based on it, such as video on demand, IP broadcasting service, and so on. However, most of the exiting multicast protocols have a scalability problem in which the network performance degrades as the increase of the network size. Among the existing protocols, the Protocol Independent Multicast(PIM) protocol has been known as one the effective protocols that handles the scalability problem. Especially, the PIM-SM is more suitable for the realistic situation of the current Internet. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of this threshold value on the network performance in respect of the packet loss for a variety of network topologies.

In this paper, we deal with the Negative Acknowledgement(NACK)-Implosion problem that arises in the multicasting environment, and present a scheme to cope with this problem, the modified version of the Scalable Reliable Multicast(SRM) protocol, called SRM-K. This motivates this work in which the NACK message are generated depending on the congestion level inside the network. The occurrence of congestion is determined by estimating the round trip time (RTT) for each message. As an indication of the congestion level, we introduce a counter in each node, whose value K in dynamically adapted to the change of the network situation, namely increases when the congestion builds up and decreases otherwise. The proposed SRM-K scheme is evaluated by performing the simulation, showing that it outperforms the SRM, in particular, in the scenario when the network situation dynamically varies.

Autophagy plays a critical role in maintaining cell homeostasis in response to various stressors through protein conjugation and activation of lysosome-dependent degradation. MAP1LC3B/LC3B (microtubule- associated protein 1 light chain 3 ) is conjugated with phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) in the membranes and regulates initiation of autophagy through interaction with many autophagy-related proteins possessing an LC3-interacting region (LIR) motif, which is composed of 2 hydrophobic amino acids (tryptophan and leucine) separated by 2 non-conserved amino acids (WXXL). In this study, we identified a new putative LIR motif in PEBP1/RKIP (phosphatidylethanolamine binding protein 1) that was originally isolated as a PE-binding protein and also a cellular inhibitor of MAPK/ERK signaling. PEBP1 was specifically bound to PE-unconjugated LC3 in cells, and mutation (WXXL mutated to AXXA) of this LIR motif disrupted its interaction with LC3 proteins. Interestingly, overexpression of PEBP1 significantly inhibited starvation-induced autophagy by activating the AKT and MTORC1 (mechanistic target of rapamycin [serine/threonine kinase] complex 1) signaling pathway and consequently suppressing the ULK1 (unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1) activity. In contrast, ablation of PEBP1 expression dramatically promoted the autophagic process under starvation conditions. Furthermore, PEBP1 lacking the LIR motif highly stimulated starvation-induced autophagy through the AKT-MTORC1-dependent pathway. PEBP1 phosphorylation at Ser153 caused dissociation of LC3 from the PEBP1-LC3 complex for autophagy induction. PEBP1-dependent suppression of autophagy was not associated with the MAPK pathway. These findings suggest that PEBP1 can act as a negative mediator in autophagy through stimulation of the AKT-MTORC1 pathway and direct interaction with LC3.

Recently, the standard of culture has improved because of the increase in national economic power. As a result, the value of national culture and traditional culture has been re-evaluated. This study has attempted to use traditional Korean patterns in manicure to provide diverse nail art design to customers. In addition, designs based on preference by age have been developed after investigating what kind of traditional Korean patterns customers prefer. In this study, various nail art designs were created using unique traditional Korean patterns. It is anticipated that the results of this study will be useful in matching diverse costumes and helpful in providing various nail design services through market segmentation by age and proper response to customers’ diverse needs after developing designs according to customers’ preference by age.

His study is intended to explore the relationship between social consensus and social capital in beauty information dimensions as perceived by users on friend-based SNS. For this study, SPSS, and the AMOS statistical packages were used to carry out frequency, internal consistency, measurement model, and path analyses for 820 respondants who experienced beauty activities on friend-based SNS. As a result of this study, first, this study has had a significant impact on the prevalence of content dimensions, temporal dimensions, and morphological dimensions on friend-based SNS beauty information. Also, the content dimensions and morphological dimensions had a significant effect on reliability. Second, the divergence and reliability of information sharing had significant impacts on reciprocity and interactivity. Third, social capital s reciprocity and interactivity both had significant effects on social conformity.
