Park, Doo Seon,Kim, Jong Taik,Kim, Myung Chul,Hong, Sang Phyo 한국화학공학회 1990 NICE Vol.8 No.4
CNDO/2 calculation for atomic charges Wiberg bond orders and adsorption energies of CO molecules on the cluster model whose Si/Al ratio varied were carried out. The data for the normal cluster and dealuminated cluster were compared. Decationization energies of the canons increased with the charge densities of canon and number of aluminum involved. Adsorption process of CO on the monovalent canons such as , Li^-, Na^+ and divalent canons, Be^(2+), Ca^(2+), and Mg^(2-) was supposed to be occurring by the donation of non-bonded electrons from CO. The decationization energies of canons obviously decreased by the dealumination process. Adsorption energies of CO on the canons generally decreased ache dealumination took place except the case of H^+ and Na^+.

To compare the catches made using gillnets, trammel nets, and gillnets with supporting lines, several experiments were conducted with commercial vessels near Uljin and Pohang in Eastern Korea between July 2010 and May 2011. Two sets of 13 different nets were used, including 5 panels of gillnets and trammel nets each with stretched mesh sizes of 7.6, 9.1, 10.6, 12.1, and 13.6 cm and 3 panels of gillnets with a mesh size of 9.1 cm with supporting lines with different line spacing. The outer (stretched) mesh size of the trammel nets measured 51.5 cm. The target fishes of the fishing nets were various types of flounders. The catch rate of flounders was 50.7% of the total catch in weight. The total catch for all nets was 443.8 kg. The predominant species was pointhead flounder (Cleisthenes pinetorum). The total catch by trammel nets was 1.4 times that of the comparable gillnets. But more pointhead flounder were caught by gillnets than by trammel nets, though there was no significant difference. Fishermen catching the pointhead flounder in Korea said that there was no need to use trammel net to catch it; this was an unexpected finding compared to the findings of other flounder fisheries. The amounts of roughscale sole, brown sole, and blackfin flounder caught by trammel nets were greater than those caught by gillnets. The mean lengths (standard deviation) of blackfin flounder, pointhead flounder, brown sole, and roughscale sole were 21.0 (4.57), 22.9 (3.40), 24.7 (4.90), and 28.3 (5.43) cm, respectively; there were significant differences in mean length (p < 0.00001). Therefore, in order to catch flounder efficiently, the fishing nets and mesh size should be chosen according to the target species. One advantage of using supporting lines is that it prevents breakage by strengthening the material especially when utilized on a rough bottom. Catch by using gillnet with supporting lines was not greater than that by using trammel net for the conservation of fisheries resources.
Expression of the Recombinant Single-Chain Anti-B Cell Lymphoma Antibody
Park, Tae-Hyun,Park, Chang-Woon,Awh, Ok-Doo,Lim, Sang-Moo 대한의생명과학회 2003 Journal of biomedical laboratory sciences Vol.9 No.3
Recombinant single chain Fv (scFv) antibodies offer many advantages over mouse monoclonal antibodies such as faster clearance from blood, improved tumor localization, reduced human anti-mouse antibody (HAMA) response, and the availability to manipulate the scFv through genetic approaches. The recombinant phage display was constructed using lym-l hybridoma cells as a source of genetic starting material. mRNA was isolated from the corresponding antibodies hybridoma cells. VH and VL cDNA were amplified with RT-PCR and linked with ScFv by linker DNA to form ScFv DNA, which then were inserted into phagemid pCANTAB5E. The phage of positive clones selected with tube containing raji lymphoma cell and infected by competent E. coli HB2151 to express soluble scFv. The scFv lym-l was secreted into the cytosol and culture supernatant and shown to be of expected size (approximately 32 kDa) by western blot. An active scFv lym-l could be produced in E. coli with soluble form and high yield from hybridoma cell line, using phage display system. Immunoreactivity indicated that scFv lym1 showed a potential biding affinity against the raji lymphoma cell as its parental antibody (intact lym-l Ab).

Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are multifunctional proteins encoded by a large gene family divided into Phi, Tau, Theta, Zeta, Lambda and DHAR classes on the basis of sequence identity. The Phi(F) and Tau(U) classes are plant-specific and ubiquitous. Their roles have been defined as herbicide detoxification and responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. Fifty-two members of the GST super-family were identified in the Arabidopsis thaliana genome, 13 members of which belong to the Phi class of GSTs (AtGSTFs). Based on the sequence similarities of AtGSTFs, 11 BAC clones were identified from Brassica rapa. Seven unique sequences of ORFs designated the Phi class candidates of GST derived from B. rapa (BrGSTFs) were detected from these 11 BAC clones by blast search and sequence alignment. Some of BrGSTFs were present in the same BAC clones indicating that BrGSTFs could also be clustered as usual in plant. They were mapped on B. rapa linkage group 2, 3, 9 and 10 and their nucleotide and amino acid sequences were highly similar to those of AtGSTFs. In addition, in silico analysis of BrGSTFs using Korea Brassica Genome Project 24K oligochip and microarray database for cold, salt and drought stresses revealed 15 unigenes to be highly similar to AtGSTFs and six of these were identical to one of BrGSTFs identified in the BAC clones indicating their expression. The sequences of BrGSTFs and unigenes identified in this study will facilitate further studies to apply GST genes to medical and agriculture purposes.

Ceramide has emerged as a novel second messenger for intracellular signalling. It is produced from sphingomyelin and is involved in the control of cell differntiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. C2- ceramide, short chain ceramide, plays a role in mediating contraction of cat esophageal smooth muscle cells. We examined the effect of synthesized ceramide analogues on the C2-ceramide and ACh-induced contraction in esophageal smooth muscle cells isolated with collagenase. CY3523, CY3525, or CY3723 inhibited C2-ceramide induced contraction, in a time dependent manne. Each analogue also inhibited the contraction in concentration dependent manners. CY 3523, CY 3525, and CY 3723 had no effect to the contraction induced by PMA. The inhibition with CY3523, CY3525 and CY3723 on the C2- ceramide induced contraction was recovered by PMA. These analogues decreased the density of MAPK bands (p44/42 or p38) in the western blot. These results suggest that ceramide analogues can inhibit C2-ceramide induced contraction via PKC and MAPK dependent pathway.

<P>Cell-printing techniques that can construct three-dimensional (3D) structures with biocompatible materials and cells are of great interest for various biomedical applications, such as tissue engineering and drug-screening studies. For successful cell-printing with cells, bioinks are critical for both the processability of printing and the viability of printed cells. However, the influence of composition on 3D bio-printing with cells has not been well explored. In this study, we investigated different compositions of alginate bioinks by varying the concentrations of high molecular weight alginate (High Alg) and low molecular weight alginate (Low Mg). Bioinks of 3 wt% alginate containing High Mg alone or a 1:2 (Low Alg:High Alg).composite allowed for the construction of 3D scaffolds with good processability and shapes. Cell-printing with fibroblasts and in vitro culture studies revealed good viability and growth of the printed cells after up to 7 days of culture. Bioinks prepared with High and Low Mg at a 2:1 ratio exhibited better cell growth compared with those of other compositions. This study progresses the design and applications of alginate-based bioinks for cell-printing platforms in soft tissue engineering. (C) 2016 Published by Elsevier B.V.</P>
Crystallization Mechanisms of Joule-Heating-Induced Crystallization
Park, Doo-Jung,Ro, Jae-Sang The Korean Infomation Display Society 2009 Journal of information display Vol.10 No.2
In Joule-heating-induced crystallization, solid-to-solid or liquid-to-solid phase transformation could occur. It was found that novel physical phenomena that randomly nucleated liquid seeds, followed by rapid solidification in an amorphous matrix, during the Joule-heating-up period play an important role especially in liquid-to-solid transformation. Under some processing conditions, super-grains sized 6-8 ${\um}m$ were produced by the lateral growth from the initial seeds, without any artificially control.
