      • Knowledge Acquisition Approach Based on Rough Set in Online Aided Decision System for Food Processing Quality and Safety

        For the problem that the use effect of food processing information system is poor due to absence of knowledge acquisition measures and knowledge self-updating function, a knowledge acquisition approach based on rough set is put forward. First, the approach establishes a set of predicted samples for the relationship between food processing parameters and product quality; then uses the discretization of continuous attribute, attribute reduction and rule extraction algorithm of rough set to acquire automatically predicted knowledge from a large number of predicted sample sets, and then saves the predicted knowledge in the knowledge base of expert system; finally, realizes the extraction of knowledge of food processing process based on the inference engine, which greatly enhances the effectiveness and practicality of the acquired knowledge in online aided decision system of the food processing quality and safety.

        Arylazolyl(azinyl)thioacetanilide. Part 9#: Synthesis and Biological Investigation of Thiazolylthioacetamides Derivatives as a Novel Class of Potential Antiviral Agents

        In continuation of our endeavor to develop new, potent, selective and less toxic antiviral agents, a novel series of 2-(2-amino/chloro-4-(2,4-dibromophenyl) thiazol-5-ylthio)acetamide derivatives was synthesized via an expeditious route and evaluated for their anti-HIV activities against wild-type virus and clinically relevant mutant strains, and for their anti-influenza virus activities against influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and influenza B in cellular assays. The selected active compounds were also assayed for their enzymic inhibitory activities. The results showed that some 2-chloro substituted thiazolylthioacetamide derivatives possessed potent activity against wild type HIV-1 and several key mutant strains (E138K, K103N, L100I) of HIV-1 in MT-4 cells with EC50 values in micromolar range. Two 2-amino substituted thiazole derivatives 8a7 and 8a8 displayed significant potency against influenza A/H1N1 in MDCK cells with EC50 values much lower than that of oseltamivir carboxylate, ribavirin, amantadine and rimantadine. Though the mechanism of actions is still unclear, these novel thiazolylthioacetamides might serve as original leads for further pharmacological investigations as potential therapeutic agents against HIV-1 or influenza virus.

        Anti-adherence of Antibacterial Peptides and Oligosaccharides and Promotion of Growth and Disease Resistance in Tilapia

        Four hundred and fifty tilapias ($6.77{\pm}0.23$ g) were assigned randomly to six groups to evaluate the feasibility of the tested antibacterial peptides (ABPs) and oligosaccharides as substitutes for antibiotics. The control group was fed with a commercial tilapia diet; other five groups were fed with the same commercial diet supplemented with konjac glucomannan (KGLM), cluster bean galactomannan (CBGAM), and three animal intestinal ABPs derived from chicken, pig and rabbit at 100 mg/kg respectively. After 21 days of feeding, growth, disease resistance, and in vivo anti-adherence were determined. Furthermore, the inhibitory effect of tested agents on adhesion of Aeromonas veronii biovar sobria (A.vbs) strain BJCP-5 to tilapia enteric epithelia in vitro was assessed by cell-ELISA system. As a result, the tested agents supplemented at 100 mg/kg show significant benefit to tilapia growth and disease resistance (p<0.05), and the benefit may be correlated with their interfering in the contact of bacteria with host mucosal surface. Although none of the tested agents did inhibit the growth of BJCP-5 in tryptic soy broth at $100{\mu}g/ml$, all of them did inhibit the adhesion of A.vbs to tilapia enteric epithelia in vivo and in vitro. In vitro mimic assays show that three ABPs at low concentrations of $25{\mu}g/ml$ and $2.5{\mu}g/ml$ have the reciprocal dose-dependent anti-adherence effect. The inhibition of ABPs may be correlated with a cation bridging and/or receptor-ligand binding, but not with hydrophobicity. The KGLM and CBGAM inhibited the adherence of BJCP-5 to tilapia enteric epithelia with dose-dependent manner in vitro, and this may be through altering bacterial hydrophobicity and interfering with receptor-ligand binding. Our results indicate that the anti-adherence of the tested ABPs and oligosaccharides may be one of the mechanisms in promoting tilapia growth and resistance to A.vbs.

      • The Structural Design of "China Zun" Tower, Beijing

        The "China Zun" tower in Beijing will rise to 528 meters in height and will be the tallest building in Beijing once built. Inspired by an ancient Chinese vessel, the "Zun", the plan dimensions reduce gradually from the bottom of the tower to the waist and then expand again as it rises to form an aesthetically beautiful and unique geometry. To satisfy the structural requirement for seismic and wind resistance, the structure is a dual system composed of a perimeter mega structure made of composite mega columns, mega braces, and belt trusses, and a reinforced-concrete core with steel plate-embedded walls. Advanced parametric design technology is applied to find the most efficient outer-perimeter structure system. The seismic design basically follows a mixed empirical and performance-based methodology that was verified by a shaking table test and other specimen lab tests. The tower is now half-way through its construction.

        One-Step Hydrothermal Synthesis of CoNi2S4 for Hybrid Supercapacitor Electrodes

        In this study, a simple one-step hydrothermal method was developed to prepare a novel hierarchical CoNi2S4 nanostructure similar to rambutan fruit. The surface microstructural study clearly visualized that the rambutan-like CoNi2S4 consists of nanorods grown directly on the surface of spherical core structures. The close attachment of the nanorods to the spheres increased the active areas of the electrode, which facilitates efficient charge transport from the nanorods to the spherical core structure. CoNi2S4 with a rambutan-like hierarchical structure showed an excellent specific capacitance of 944 F g -1 at 1 A g -1, considerable rate capacitance (75.6% retention at 10 Ag -1) and excellent cycling life (91.1% retention after 5000 circulations) in the three-electrode system. Besides, the assembled hybrid supercapacitor based on CoNi2S4 and reduced graphene oxide exhibited a high specific energy density of 23.58 Wh kg -1 at the power density of 800 W kg -1.

        Joint Optimization for Residual Energy Maximization in Wireless Powered Mobile-Edge Computing Systems

        Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) and Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) are both recognized as promising techniques, one is for solving the resource insufficient of mobile devices and the other is for powering the mobile device. Naturally, by integrating the two techniques, task will be capable of being executed by the harvested energy which makes it possible that less intrinsic energy consumption for task execution. However, this innovative integration is facing several challenges inevitably. In this paper, we aim at prolonging the battery life of mobile device for which we need to maximize the harvested energy and minimize the consumed energy simultaneously, which is formulated as residual energy maximization (REM) problem where the offloading ratio, energy harvesting time, CPU frequency and transmission power of mobile device are all considered as key factors. To this end, we jointly optimize the offloading ratio, energy harvesting time, CPU frequency and transmission power of mobile device to solve the REM problem. Furthermore, we propose an efficient convex optimization and sequential unconstrained minimization technique based combining method to solve the formulated multi-constrained nonlinear optimization problem. The result shows that our joint optimization outperforms the single optimization on REM problem. Besides, the proposed algorithm is more efficiency.

        Noncoherent Relaying in Energy Harvesting Communication Systems

        <P>In energy harvesting (EH) relay networks, the coherent communication requires accurate estimation/tracking of the instantaneous channel state information (CSI) which consumes extra power. As a remedy, we propose two noncoherent EH relaying protocols based on the amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying, namely, power splitting noncoherent AF (PS-NcAF) and time switching noncoherent AF (TS-NcAF), which do not require any instantaneous CSI. We develop a noncoherent framework of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT), embracing PS-NcAF and TS-NcAF in a unified form. For arbitrary <I>M</I>-ary noncoherent frequency-shift keying (FSK) and differential phase-shift keying (DPSK), we derive maximum-likelihood detectors (MLDs) for PS-NcAF and TS-NcAF in a unified form, which involves integral evaluations yet serves as the optimum performance benchmark. To avoid expensive integral computations, we propose a closed-form detector using the Gauss-Legendre approximation, which achieves almost identical performance as the MLD but at substantially lower complexity. These EH-based noncoherent detectors achieve full diversity in Rayleigh fading. Numerical results demonstrate that our proposed PS-NcAF and TS-NcAF may outperform the conventional grid-powered relay system under the same total power constraint. Various insights which are useful for the design of practical SWIPT relaying systems are obtained. Interestingly, PS-NcAF outperforms TS-NcAF in the single-relay case, whereas TS-NcAF outperforms PS-NcAF in the multi-relay case.</P>

        An Improved Differential Buck Circuit with Power Decoupling

        Single-phase inverters have inherent double frequency problems, which are likely to cause system instability. In this paper, it does not add additional switching devices while retaining the four switching devices of the H-bridge. This topology only needs to split the original filter capacitor on the AC side into two symmetrical connections and can cancel additional DC side support capacitors. For this topology, the fundamental frequency common-mode voltage injection is used to avoid additional low-frequency harmonics derived from the DC side. Theoretical analysis and experiment explain the working principle of the topology. And the superiority of this topology is explained in terms of decoupling accuracy and the number of switches. The result proves that this topology can effectively buffer the double frequency of the system without additional switching devices.

        AC/DC Side Split Capacitor Power Decoupling Circuit

        Single-phase inverters have a wide range of applications in many fields, but there are inherent double frequency problems, and double frequency fluctuations can easily cause system instability. This paper proposes a mid-point common-mode injection power decoupling circuit. The advantage of this topology is that there are no additional switching devices and only the original DC side support capacitors and filter capacitors of the H-bridge inverter can be used to buffer the double frequency power. The half-bridge structure of this topology enables the AC side capacitors to operate positively and negatively, which can reduce the selection of the withstand voltage of the decoupling capacitor. Simulation and experimental results prove that the method can effectively suppress the secondary ripple on the DC side. The final data shows that the topology can effectively improve the system efficiency after decoupling.
