Internet Addiction and Online Gaming Disorder in Children and Adolescents During COVID-19 Pandemic: A Systematic Review

Patria Yudha Putra(Patria Yudha Putra ),Izzatul Fithriyah(Izzatul Fithriyah ),Zulfa Zahra(Zulfa Zahra ) 대한신경정신의학회 2023 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.20 No.3

The Indonesian government has enforced several social restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) virus, such as closures of in-person schools, public areas, and playgrounds as well as reduced outdoor activities. These restrictions will affect mental health of school-age children and adolescents. The internet is chosen as one of the media to keep academic activities running, but excessive internet use will increase internet addiction and online gaming disorder. This study aimed to understand the prevalence and psychological impacts of internet addiction and online gaming disorder on children and adolescents globally during the pandemic. Systematic searches were carried out on the PubMed, ProQuest, and Google Scholar search engines. All studies were assessed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses 2020 criteria and the Newcastle Ottawa Scale. Five studies met the criteria for assessing internet addiction and online gaming disorder cases in children and adolescents. Four studies discussed internet addiction, and one study addressed the negative impacts of online gaming on children and adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic. There has been an increase in internet use and online gaming disruption in children and adolescents in almost all parts of Asian and Australian countries during the COVID-19 pandemic period.

Understanding and addressing citizens’ perceptions of corruption: the case of Spain

Patria de Lancer Julnes,Manuel Villoria 한국행정학회 2014 International Review of Public Administration Vol.19 No.1

Current theories and approaches to study and combat corruption have questionableapplicability in countries with low systemic corruption and high perceptions of corruption. Further, the circular nature of corruption requires a more nuanced understanding of the complexities involved. We argue that understanding the determinants of perceptions of corruption, defined in more refined ways, holds promise in suggesting solutions for reducing corruption. To that end, we developed a model that seeks to answer two important questions: (1) what factors influence citizen perceptions of corruption, and how do they differ in relation to two different sets of government actors? And (2) in what ways might factors affecting perceptions of corruption interact to yield moderated relationships? Using the responses to a survey from 2500 citizens in Spain in 2009, we tested the model and found that personal characteristics, attitudes and media exposure have predicted differences in accounting for perceptions of corruption for different government actors. Beyond these direct findings, analysis of interactions of these explanatory factors revealed moderated relationships that have additional implications for public administrators and scholars interested in curbing corruption.

Uncultivated Biodiversity in Women’s Hand : How to Create Food Sovereignty

PATRIA, Hayu Dyah Asian Center for Women's Studies : Ewha Womans Uni 2013 Asian Journal of Women's Studies(AJWS) Vol.19 No.2

Most of the world’s food is grown, collected, and harvested by over 2.5 billion small-scale farmers, pastoralists, forest dwellers and fisherfolk, of which more than half are women. Women’s knowledge and labor play a key role in sustaining the many diverse, local food systems that still exist today throughout the world. Mantasa is an independent organization in Indonesia that works on edible wild plants. Biodiversity is the key to food sovereignty and women are the holders of knowledge and wisdom related to utilization of natural resources for their livelihood. Galengdowo village, discussed here, is a successful case where women use edible wild plants to sustain their food sovereignty.

Volumetric analysis of normal condyles and those with disc displacement with reduction in the Indonesian population: A CBCT study

        Nawawi Azkya Patria,Rikmasari Rasmi,Kurnikasari Erna,Oscandar Fahmi,Lita Yurika Ambar 대한영상치의학회 2022 Imaging Science in Dentistry Vol.52 No.1

Purpose: Disc displacement can cause resorption of the head of the condyle and affect its volume. This study analysed the volume of normal condyles and those with disc displacement with reduction (DDR) in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans from the Indonesian population. Materials and Methods: This study analysed 56 condyles (26 normal and 30 with DDR) from patients who visited the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Unit after being referred from the Prosthodontics Unit at Dental Hospital Universitas Padjadjaran from December 2020 to February 2021. Samples were divided into 2 groups (normal and DDR left and right-side condyles) based on the DC/TMD Axis 1 form through the clinical examination results. Both sample groups were exposed to CBCT radiation. The CBCT imaging results in the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine format were exported to the open-source ITK-SNAP format to determine condyle volume. Volumetric data from the cortical and trabecular areas of the right or left side condyles were arranged by sex. The independent t-test was used to determine the significance of differences with IBM SPSS version 21.0. Intra- and inter-observer reliability and validity were tested before determining the volume of the condyles. Results: Normal condyles and DDR condyles showed significant differences in volume (P<0.05). Significant differences were also seen in cortical (P = 0.0007) and trabecular (P = 0.0045) volumes. There was a significant difference in condylar volume based on sex. Conclusion: The normal condyle volume was significantly different from the DDR condyle volume in both sexes.

Investigating the performance of ice slurry system and the growth of ice crystals using seawater

        F. A. Rayhan,A. S. Pamitran,Yanuar,M. P. Patria 대한기계학회 2020 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.34 No.6

This study investigates ice slurry systems, their transport characteristics, and seawater ice crystal formation through microscopy. Here, the salinity of seawater was set to vary between 10 and 30 ppt (part per thousand) and was used to form ice slurries. Pump flow rates were adjusted to be in between 5 and 30 L/min, while the scraper speed was set to vary at 350-550 RPM in positive correlation with the speed. It was discovered that ice slurries generated with a salinity of 10 ppt seawater had a significantly positive effect on ice production rate. Additionally, such ice slurries resulted in an intended reduction on the formation time of the ice slurries, while the flow and stirring rates were maintained between 10 to 15 L/min and 400 to 450 RPM, respectively. Additionally, the transport characteristics of the ice slurry were affected in terms of the increase in flow rate, salinity, and ice mass fraction. As an interesting threshold, the diameter of the ice crystals increased as storage time increased, and seawater concentration decreased, which was followed by agglomeration and the Ostwald ripening phenomenon. For cold storage applications, therefore, a low salinity of seawater (10-20 ppt) and 60 % ice mass fraction were recommended to deliver the best intended performance in an ice slurry system.
