Venous Anatomic Variants Encountered During Liver Transplantation
( Nicolae Bacalbasa ),( Irina Balescu ),( Simona Dima ),( Vladislav Brasoveanu ),( Irinel Popescu ) 대한간학회 2020 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2020 No.1
Aims: Adequate knowledge of hepatic vascular particularities is mandatory before preparing the patient for liver transplantation, significant anatomical variants being present in certain cases. Methods: We present two cases in which venous malformations were seen. In the first case supranumerary hepatic veins (two inferior hepatic veins originating from segments 5 and 6) were encountered at the donor; in the second case type Ib Abernethy malformation has been described preoperatively at the receiver. Results: The first case necessitated performing a supplemental anastomosis between the two inferior hepatic veins, the resulting structure being directly reinserted in the inferior cava vein; the second case had been diagnosed with unresectable liver adenomatosis in the presence of an aberrant portal vein draining directly into the inferior cava vein; the patient was successfully submitted to living donor liver transplantation using a left hemiliver. Conclusions: The presence of venous abnormalities should be carefully investigated in both donor and receiver among cases submitted to living donor liver transplantations; modifications encountered in both donor and receiver might significantly influence the further technical details.

This paper reports our study comparing the tensile stress-strain data taken on a fused filament fabricated Nylon 12 material additively manufactured in two distinct directions (i.e., horizontal and vertical), using typical dog-bone shaped specimens of two different crosssection shapes; rectangular and circular. Our objectives in carrying out this investigation were to evaluate the effects of specimen geometry on the elasticity and strength characteristics of the involved PA12 material. One-way ANOVA analysis, Tukey’s HSD, and Games-Howell tests were considered to compare the mean values of two cross-section shapes’ groups (i.e., rectangular vs. circular). The results of ultimate tensile strength obtained for horizontally printed specimens and the elongation at break determined for vertically oriented samples show notable differences at a significance p-level of 0.05.

Ni nanoclusters supported on Al2O3 were prepared using a coprecipitation method. A heat treatment at differenttemperatures was applied. The obtained samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-rayabsorption spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in order to determine their global, local andelectronic structures. The average particle size, the mean squares of the microstrain, the particle size andmicrostrain distribution functions of the supported Ni nanoclusters were determined by the XRD methodusing a generalized Fermi function for the approximation of the X-ray line. The recrystallization inducedduring the heat treatment process was analyzed. The present study indicated strong deformation of thelocal structure of the active metal in all of the samples investigated due to the metal-support interactionand the effects of the small particle size. Electronic structural investigations showed the presence of Ni ina metallic state as well as Ni2+ on the cluster surfaces.
