Spinel ferrites having compositions Zn_0.5Li_(1-2x)Mg_xFe_2O_4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) have been prepared by sol-gel auto combustion technique. The dielectric properties of these ferrites have been studied using impedance measurements in the frequency range 10 Hz―10 MHz and in the temperature range 310―473 K. The effect of temperature, frequency and composition on dielectric constant (ε´), dielectric loss (tanδ) and conductivity (σ) have been discussed in terms of hopping of charge carriers (Fe^2+↔Fe^3+). The occurrence of peak in the dielectric loss (tanδ) spectra is found to be temperature and composition dependent. The electrical modulus formulism has also been employed to study the relaxation dynamics of charge carriers and the results indicate the presence of non-Debye type of relaxation in these ferrites. Identical values of activation energy for dc conduction (E_dc) and for conductivity relaxation (E_M˝) reveal that the charge carriers have to overcome the same energy barrier while conducting and relaxing. A single ‘master curve’for normalized plots of all the modulus isotherms observed for a given composition indicates the temperature independence of dynamical process for charge carriers in the present ferrites. The absence of hysteresis and non-attainment of saturation magnetization (even at 8 kOe) suggests the super paramagnetic behaviour of these ferrites.

Caeneressa diaphana muirheadi (Felder) and Caeneressa brithyris (Druce) have been recorded for the first time from India. Further, a new combination viz. Caeneressa melaena (Walker) comb. nov., has also been proposed on the basis of external genitalic features. With these records, genus Caeneressa will be represented by five species from India, Caeneressa diaphana (Kollar), Caeneressa diaphana muirheadi (Felder), Caeneressa brithyris (Druce), Caeneressa melaena (Hampson) and Caeneressa swinhoei (Leech). The studied material was collected from North-Eastern states of India. Caeneressa brithyris (Druce) was collected near riverside at low altitude whereas the other two species were collected at high altitude.

<P>ZnO nanoparticles decorated with organic receptor 1 (R1) have been prepared and the resultant compound (N1) was investigated for its metal recognition ability. N1 was found to be selective for mercury ions (Hg2+) in a DMSO/water mixture in a ratio of 7 : 3 and possessed no interference from any of the potential interferent metal ions. The crystal size and morphology of ZnO is characterized using various spectroscopic and diffraction techniques like scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), dynamic light scattering (DLS), etc. Surface decoration of the ZnO with receptor 1 is confirmed using NMR spectroscopy. On successive additions of Hg2+ ions, the fluoresence intensity of the compound was quenched at 427 nm with enhancement of the peak at 482 nm, which led to ratiometric sensor development for the recognition of mercury ions having a detection limit of 0.19 nM. The prepared receptor was also tested for real sample application by preparing a known concentration of Hg2+ solution and it was found to respond well with an accuracy more than 90%.</P>
A Survey on Applications of Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System

In this paper we presented an architecture and basic learning process underlying in fuzzy inference system and adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system which is a hybrid network implemented in framework of adaptive network. In real world computing environment, soft computing techniques including neural network, fuzzy logic algorithms have been widely used to derive an actual decision using given input or output data attributes, ANFIS can construct mapping based on both human knowledge and hybrid learning algorithms. This study involves study of ANFIS strategy ANFIS strategy is employed to model nonlinear functions, to control one of the most important parameters of the induction machine and predict a chaotic time series, all yielding more effective, faster response or settling times.
Machinability Analysis of Heat Treated Ti64, Ti54M and Ti10.2.3 Titanium Alloys
Navneet Khanna,Kuldip Singh Sangwan 한국정밀공학회 2013 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.
In this research, machinability of the heat treated α/β (Ti64 and Ti54M) and metastable β (Ti10.2.3) titanium alloys is investigated experimentally. Forces and temperature i.e. life of the cutting tool mainly influenced by variation in cutting speed and feed rate, therefore, the depth of cut was maintained constant while cutting speed and feed were varied. Heat treatment was found to have influence on the machinability of the analyzed alloys. The annealed and solution treated plus over aged samples of the Ti10.2.3 alloy, showed comparatively higher cutting tool temperature and higher cutting forces. This work confirmed the poorer machinability of the Ti10.2.3 alloy than the Ti64 and Ti54M alloys in different heat treatment conditions and this is due to the presence of higher content of β stabilizer elements (V and Fe). It is concluded that the proper heat treatment planning results in better machining performance of the titanium alloys.

Study Design: Prospective randomized double-blind study.Purpose: To assess the analgesic effects of the combination of a low-dose ketamine and dexmedetomidine (ketodex) infusion and compare it with that of fentanyl for postoperative analgesia after spine surgeries.Overview of Literature: Adequate pain management following spine surgeries is crucial. Approximately 57% of patients experience inadequate pain control in the first 24 hours following elective spine surgery, which is attributable to the extensive soft tissue and muscle damage. Methods: The study included 60 patients graded American Society of Anesthesiologists I and II and scheduled for thoracolumbar spine surgery involving >3 vertebral levels. The patients were divided into two groups: group KD (ketodex) and group F (fentanyl). The primary objective was to compare the postoperative analgesic requirements among the groups. The secondary objectives included a comparison of the intraoperative anesthetic requirements, postoperative pain scores, hemodynamic parameters, side effects of the study drugs, and the duration of post-anesthesia care unit stay of both the groups. Results: Ketodex use prolonged the mean time to first rescue analgesia (22.00±2.30 hours vs. 11.69±3.02 hours, <i>p</i> <0.001) and reduced the requirement of rescue analgesics in the first 24 hours postoperatively compared to fentanyl use (70.00±8.16 μg vs. 113.31±36.65 μg, <i>p</i> =0.03). The intraoperative requirement of desflurane was comparable between the groups (<i>p</i> >0.05). The postoperative pain scores were significantly lower in the group KD than in group F at most timepoints (<i>p</i> <0.05). Patients in group KD had a shorter post-anesthesia care unit stay than group F did (<i>p</i> <0.001).Conclusions: Low-dose ketodex could be a safe substitute for fentanyl infusion when employed as an anesthetic adjuvant for patients undergoing thoracolumbar spine surgeries involving >3 vertebral levels to achieve prolonged analgesia without any opioidrelated side effects.
