The Lithium battery consumption of EV (Electric Vehicle) is closely related to the air temperature which makes driver turn on the air conditioner or heater. Prediction of possible driving distance of EV is important for arriving at the destination or a charging station without shortage of energy. A random forest tree ensemble learning based prediction method of possible driving distance using field data is proposed and verified in this paper. The charging start time joint temperature feature which influences battery consumption is introduced and is used for the best-fitting prediction model.
