The purpose of this study is to determine the attitudes for integration education and the intimacy with disabled students of Nondisabled students influenced by disabled students. For such purpose, 477 students of 15 classes from 5 elementary schools located in Daegu Metropolitan City were selected as the object of this study. Integrated Attitudes was measured through an investigation equipment by Oh Won-Seok and Seo-Yeong Ran which adapted and modified a testing document called Inclusion of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Inventory (ISDHH) invented by Hsin-Ling Hung(2005). The result indicated that the factors which influence the Attitudes of nondisabled students regarding integration with disabled students are the type of injury, the gender and the cleanness of the disabled student. The factors which do not influence the above are interests of the disabled student``s parents, economic level of the family and the learning ability of the disabled student.

Development of the technologies for offshore wind power is proceeding actively and the installation capacity is continuously increasing because of its many advantages in comparison with the land wind power. Accordingly, project for Southwestern 2.5GW offshore wind power plant is in progress in Korea. Design of electric power systems for offshore wind power plant is very important due to its high investment and operational costs. Hence, it needs to be designed in order to minimize costs. This way can be employed in determining the installation location of offshore substation for HVAC wind power plant. According to the offshore substation site, MV inter-array cable and HV export cable lengths vary and they change a total cost regarding submarine cable. This paper represents cost models with variables which are MV inter-array cable and HV export cable lengths to locate the offshore substation for HVAC wind power plant. It is classified into submarine cable installation cost, reactive power compensator installation cost, ohmic losses, and unsupplied energy cost. By minimizing a total cost, an appropriate installation site of the offshore substation is determined.

<P>TRPM2 (transient receptor potential melastatin 2) is a non-selective Ca2+-permeable cation channel activated by ADPR (adenosine diphosphoribose) and H2O2. It is widely expressed in mammalian cells and plays an important role in the regulation of various cell functions. However, the mechanisms of TRPM2 channel activation are not fully understood. Previously, we reported that TRPM2 channel activation is induced by high intracellular Cl- concentration. In the present study, we investigated the functional role of Lys1110 in the membrane-proximal C-terminal region by site-directed mutagenesis. Replacement of the positively charged amino acid lysine (Lys1110) with the neutrally charged amino acid asparagine (K1110N) or the negatively charged amino acid glutamic acid (K1110E) generated mutants that failed to induce an increase in free cytosolic calcium concentration ([Ca2+]i) not only by intracellular injection of Cl-, but also by H2O2 or ADPR. However, a mutant generated by replacing the lysine residue with a positively charged amino acid arginine (K1110R) displayed channel activity similar to wild-type TRPM2. Interestingly, in the K1107N/K1110N double-point mutant, the impaired function of the K1110N mutant in response to ADPR and H2O2, but not to Cl-, was recovered. There were no changes in protein expression, membrane trafficking and oligomerization of the mutant channels. The extent of [Ca2+]i increase by H2O2 in HEK (human embryonic kidney)-293 cells expressing TRPM2 mutants was well correlated with the degree of susceptibility to H2O2-induced cell death. These results display the crucial role of a positively charged amino acid residue at position 1110 for TRPM2 channel activity.</P>

Four fucosterol derivatives were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of Hizikia fusiformis. The chemical structures of the sterols were elucidated as fucosterol (1), a mixture of 24R,28R- and 24S,28R-epoxy-24-ethylcholesterol at the ratio of 3 to 2 (2), and 24R-saringosterol (3), all of which exhibited proliferation activity on MG63 cells.

<P>Formononetin (<B>1</B>), a plant-derived phytoestrogen, possesses bone protective properties. To address the potential therapeutic efficacy and mechanism of action of <B>1</B>, we investigated its antiosteoclastogenic activity and its effect on nuclear factor-kappaB ligand (RANKL)-induced bone-marrow-derived macrophages (BMMs). Compound <B>1</B> markedly inhibited RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation in the absence of cytotoxicity, by regulating the expression of osteoprotegerin (OPG) and RANKL in BMMs and in cocultured osteoblasts. Compound <B>1</B> significantly inhibited RANKL-induced tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), regulated on activation normal T cell expressed and secreted (RANTES), and macrophage inflammatory protein-1α (MIP-1α) in a concentration-dependent manner. These effects were accompanied by a decrease in RANKL-induced activation of the NF-κB p65 subunit, degradation of inhibitor κBα (IκBα), induction of NF-κB, and phosphorylation of AKT, extracellular-signal regulated kinase (ERK), c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK). NF-κB siRNA suppressed AKT, ERK, JNK, and p38 MAPK phosphorylation. Furthermore, <B>1</B> significantly suppressed c-Fos and nuclear factor of activated T-cells cytoplasmic 1 (NFATc1), key transcription factors during osteoclastogenesis. SP600125, a specific inhibitor of JNK, reduced RANKL-induced expression of phospho-c-Jun, c-Fos, and NFATc1 and inhibited osteoclast formation. These results suggested that <B>1</B> acted as an antiresorption agent by blocking osteoclast activation.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jnprdf/2014/jnprdf.2014.77.issue-11/np500417d/production/images/medium/np-2014-00417d_0007.gif'></P>
