One of the ways to reduce abroad dependence for energy is to utilize solar energy when we are now confronted with not only insufficiency of natural resources but also the serious problems of environmental pollution. Therefore, full attention must now be paid to the development of solar energy system as alternative energy. To achieve this, solar hot water supply system was established at Chosun university, Gwang-ju, and experimental data were obtained based on meterological data and solar radiation. This study has been used the monthly mean values of the daily measurements obtained by data acquisition software Labview. This study shows Gwang-ju is a good region for the utilization of solar energy.
첨가제를 첨가한 TMA-포접화합물의 상변화에 관한 실험적 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate the propriety of TMA clathrate as a cold storage medium. Particularly, this is to examine the extent of subcooling improvement when the surfactants are added to the TMA clathrate, because water used cold storage material has low phase change temperature and subcooling. this study has been analysed and compared with TMA 30wt% clathrate how phase change temperature, subcooling and specific heat in the various concentrations are changed. This results view to be improved phase change temperature and subcooling of TMA30wt% as a cold storage medium, when it had some surfactant. Additionally, it is that surfactant must be controlled under available solution limit and study for new additive must be lasted to know its effect.

TMA clathrate that is used as PCM of low temperature thermal storage system in this research creates hydrate crystallization at higher temperature than pure water, and its application is expected as PCM because of comparatively big latent heat without phase separation phenomenon. Ethylene Glycol is used as additive and evaluated experimentally for the purpose of the improvement in subcooling of TMA clathrate. In view of the results so far achieved subcooling is improved, the running time of the refrigerator is reduced. Thus the results are expected to use for the increase of coefficient of performance of low temperature thermal storage system in the building.

Changes of free amino acids a s taste compounds during sun drying of shrimp Trachypenaeus curvirostris, were analyzed by amino acid autoanalyzer. Glycine, arginine, proline and alanine were dominant amino acids in fresh extracts, having 44.8%( 6109.9㎎%, on dry base), 21.9% (2989.3㎎%), 10.4% (1418.3㎎%)and 5.9% (805.1㎎%) of the total amino acids, respect-ively. Free amino acids were not changed in composition during sun drying of shrimp. Glycine, arginine, proline and alanine were dominant in both fresh extracts and dried products. In dried extracts,.such amino acids as glycine, arginine, proline and alanine were 44.7% (4162.3㎎%, on dry base), 24.1% (2244.61119 %), 11.7% (1090.l㎎%)and 5.3% (495.8㎎%) of the total amino acids, respectively. It is believed that glycicne, arginine, proline and alanine may play an important role as taste compounds in sun dried shrimp.

<P><B>Background</B></P><P>To examine survival rates and renal function after partial nephrectomy (PN) and radical nephrectomy (RN) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>We studied 4,332 patients who underwent PN or RN for pathological T1a-T2N0M0 renal cell carcinoma from 1988 to 2014. Patients were divided into two subgroups of CKD stage I–II and stage III. Kidney function, and survival outcomes were compared between groups.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>We included 1,756 patients with CKD I–II and 276 patients with CKD III in the final pair-matched analysis. Kidney function was significantly better preserved in the PN than in the RN group among all patients. However, the beneficial effect of PN on kidney function gradually disappeared over time in CKD III patients. The 5-year overall survival (OS) rates after PN and RN differed in patients with CKD I–II disease (99.4% vs. 96.5%, respectively, <I>P</I> = 0.015). The 5-year OS rates after surgery were not affected by mode of nephrectomy in CKD III patients (97.8% vs. 93.5%, <I>P</I> = 0.103). The 5-year cancer-specific survival rates did not differ between treatment groups in all CKD stage. Cox hazard analysis showed that the operative method was a significant factor for OS in CKD I–II patients (hazard ratio [HR], 0.320; confidence interval [CI], 0.122–0.840; <I>P</I> = 0.021). However, PN was not beneficial in terms of OS in CKD III patients (HR, 0.395; CI, 0.086–1.172; <I>P</I> = 0.117).</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>PN is associated with a higher OS rate and better kidney function in patients with preoperative CKD stage I and II, but not in those with CKD stage III.</P>

The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of supercooling repression on the clathrate compound by adding additives. For this purpose, phase change temperature and supercooling were measured when additives added to TMA30wt% clathrate for heat source temperature of -6℃. The experimental results show that the phase change temperature with the chloroform of 0.1wt% is higher by 0.3C than TMA30wt% and the supercooling with the surfactant 0.1 wt% is reduced by 9.2℃.
혈청(血淸)빌리루빈 측정(測定)에 대(對)한 Malloy-Evelyn 법(法)과 Jendrassik-Grof법(法)의 실험적(實驗的) 비교(比較)

Malloy-Evelyn method is simple a~d widely used , but turbidity and faintness of the color intensity may interfere correct measurement of the normal and direct bilirubin values. The disadvantages also include greater interference by hemolysis and foam formation which may prolong reading time and cause error of the value. A comparative experiment between Malloy-Evelyn and Jendrassik-Grof methods: using caffeine as an accelerator and utilizing better color reaction in strong alkali in the latter. The following conclusions are made. 1. There is a significant difference of total bilirubin value between two methods; J-G method showed superior reproducibility. 2. J -G method re、realed no turbidity and foam formation. It also requires shorter testing time and easier manioulation compare to that of M-E method. 3. Both methods were greatly influenced by hemolysis, showing lower values but better result was encountered by adding ascorbic acid to J-G method. 4. Measuring direct bilirubin in J-G method, the color intensity continuously increases by significant degree for several minutes if reducing agent is not added as in M-E metod. 5. Reconsideration of the 1 minute value of direct bilirubin measurement is stresesd.

Recently, many attempts have been made to use hydrogels of various polymers as delivery systems of various drugs and bioactive materials to prolong and control their phamacological activities. In this study, we have evaluated the physico-chemical properties of methacrylic acid-methyacrylic acid methyl ester copolymer 9Eudispert mv)m a acrylic resin hydorgel, and its application to transdermal delivery system. In the dissolution tests, the release rate of salicylic acid (SA) and sodium salicylate (SOd. SA) were faster than lidocain (LD) and lidocain-HCl(LD-HCl). As the concentration of Eudispert mv polymer increased, the extensibility of Eudispert mu hydrogel decreased, whereas the swelling ratio increased. The more NaOH and polymer concentration increased, the more osmotic pressure linearly increased. The skin permeation of Sod. SA, an acidic model drug, was remarkably enhanced by Eudispert mv hydrogel. All fatty acids, except for Sod. glycolate, dramatically increased the skin permeation flux in Eudispert mu hydrogel containing LD-Hcl, a basic model drug. Consequently, it is suggested that Eudispert mv hydrogel may be used as potential transdermal delivery vehicle.
