MIORPA: Middleware System for Open-Source Robotic Process Automation

Introduction of robotic process automation (RPA) in simple repetitive task automation initiated its research and development in various fields. The high demand for RPA has expanded the global market. However, the disadvantages include the high cost of commercial RPA products and limited functional expansion. Therefore, it is necessary to design opensource RPA to minimize the cost and manage the execution of multiple RPA jobs. We propose a middleware system called MIORPA to control open-source RPA robots. The proposed middleware system provides a job-scheduling algorithm for assignment of tasks to multiple RPA robots in multiple middleware environments. Further, MIORPA provides watchdog-based RPA robot status monitoring, and the status of the RPA robot can be identified and managed in real time. Therefore, when a large number of users request RPA, the work is distributed and processed efficiently. Thus, this study contributes towards research into the control of RPA robots.
A RESEARCH PROPOSAL ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS RESEARCH IN KOREA

This paper is a research proposal to review research activities in Information Systems (IS) in Korea. We are planning to review and analyze research papers published in top five IS-related academic journals in the twenty year period between 1987 and 2006. Published papers are to be classified by 1) research topics, 2) research methodologies. 3) the units of analysis, and 4) reference disciplines. The classification system employed in this study was developed by Vessey et al. (2002). The results then are to be compared with the similar studies of Korean, Western and Chinese researchers. Comparison analysis will show us the similarities and differences of IS research discipline in different countries. Using the results of the study. we will suggest some recommendation for the improvement of IS research in Korea.

Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) is a safe alternative to open surgical repair for an abdominal aortic aneurysm. However, unfavorable aortic anatomy of the aneurysm has restricted the widespread use of EVAR. Anatomic limitation is most often related to characteristics of the proximal neck anatomy. In this report, we described a patient with a severely angulated proximal neck who underwent EVAR, but required repeat intervention because of thrombotic occlusion of stent graft limbs.
