      • 암모니아처리 및 암모니아 - 황산 병용처리 볏짚의 저장기간에 따른 영양소 함량 및 IN VITRO 소화율

        본 시험은 일반볏짚에 암모니아가스 3%를 처리하여 밀봉상태로 60일간 보관한 후 개봉한 암모니아처리 볏짚과 이들 처리볏짚의 1/2에 해당하는 양에 농황산 2.5%을 처리하여 제조한 암모니아-황산병용 처리 볏짚을 공기가 잘 통한 실온에서 0, 1, 2 및 4개월간 저장한 후 저장기간에 따른 화학적 조성, 질소함량 및 in vitro 소화율을 분석하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 조단백질, NDF 함량은 모든 저장기간에서 암모니아처리 볏짚보다 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚에서 높았으며(P<0.05), 암모니아처리 볏짚의 조단백질 함량은 저장기간이 증가할 수록 유의적으로 감소되었지 만 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚은 저장기간 4개월에서 감소되었다(P<0.05). NDF 및 ADF 함량은 처리 볏짚 모두가 저장기간의 증가에 따른 차이가 없었다. 2. Total N 및 NH₃-N 함량은 모든 저장기간에서 암모니아처리 볏짚보다 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚에서 높았으며(P<0.05), 암모니아처리 볏짚은 저장기간이 증가할수록 유의적으로 감소되었지만(P<0.05), 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚은 차이가 없었다. 3. In vitro 건물, 조단백질, NDF 및 ADF 소화율은 모든 저장기간에서 암모니아처리 볏짚보다 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚에서 높았으나(P<0.05), in vitro 건물 소화율 처리볏짚 모두가 저장기간의 증가에 따른 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 암모니아처리 볏짚의 in vitro 조단백질 소화율은 저장기간이 증가할 수록 감소되었지만(P<0.05), 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚은 저장기간 4개월에서 감소되었다(P<0.05). 그리고 in vitro NDF 및 ADF소화율은 처리볏짚 모두가 저장기간의 증가에 따른 차이가 없었다. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of ammonia (NH₃)-sulfuric acid combination on feed value of rice straw as a ruminant feedstuff. Rice straw was treated with 3% ammonia (DM basis) for at least 60 days and further with 2.5% sulfuric acid (DM basis) for overnight to complete the combination treatments. The treated rice straw was then sun-dried, and were kept in a room under shade with good air ventilation. At the start(0), and after 1, 2 and 4 months, chemical composition and in vitro digestibility of the treated rice straw was analyzed. The treatments included ammonia-treated and ammonia H₂SO₄-treated rice straw. The results are as follows 1. CP (crude protein), NDF (neutral detergent fiber) contents were higher(P<0.05) in ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw than that of ammonia-treated rice straw at all storing periods. CP content of ammoniatreated rice straw was decreased(P<0.05) as storing period increased, but ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw was decreased(P<0.05) at 4 month of storage. NDF and ADF (acid detergent fiber) contents of ammonia-treated and ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw were not significantly different among storing periods. 2. Total N and NH₃-N contents were higher(P<0.05) in ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw than that of ammonia-treated rice straw at all storing periods, and ammonia-treated rice straw was decreased (P<0.05) as storing period increased, but ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw was not significantly different among storing periods 3. In vitro dry matter, CP, NDF and ADF digestibilities were higher(P<0.05) in ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw than that of ammonia-treated rice straw at all storing periods. In vitro dry matter digestibilities of ammonia-treated and ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw were not significantly different among storing periods. In vitro CP digestibility of ammonia-treated rice straw was decreased (P<0.05) as storing period increased, but ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw was reduced(P<0.05) at 4 month of storage. In vitro NDF and ADF digestibilities of ammonia-treated and ammonia·H₂SO₄-treated rice straw were not significantly different among storing periods.

      • 재래산양에 의한 요소 및 암모니아처리 볏짚과 황산병용처리 볏짚의 증체량 , 사료섭취량 및 경제성

        본 시험은 볏짚의 수분 함량을 30%로 조절하여 농업용 요소 6%를 수용액 상태로 처리한 요소처리 및 짚과 암모니아가스 3%를 처리한 암모니아처리 볏짚을 밀봉상태로 45일간 보관한 후 개봉하여 이들 처리볏짚의 1/2에 해당하는 양에 농황산 2.2%을 처리하여 요소-황산병용처리 및 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚을 제조하여 화학적 조성을 분석하고, 사양효과를 구명하기 위하여 평균체중 8.77㎏의 재래산양(♀ : 16두, ♂ : 16두) 총 32두를 이용하여 사양 시험을 실시한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 90일간의 총 증체량과 일당 증체량은 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚이 3.45㎏ 및 38.28g으로서 타처리 볏짚보다 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 2. 사료요구율은 암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚이 7.62로서 타처리 볏짚에 비하여 현저히 낮아 요소처리, 암모니아처리 및 요소-항산병용처리 볏짚보다 약 41, 15 및 17%가 낮았다(P<0.05). 3. 경제성에 있어서 1kg 증체에 소요되는 사료비는 요소처리>요소-황산병용처리>암모니아처리>암모니아-황산병용처리 볏짚순으로 높았다. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of two phase treatments of urea-sulfuric acid and ammonia (NH₃)-sulfuric acid combination on feed value of rice straw as ruminant feedstuff. Rice straw was treated with 6% urea (W/DM) or 3% ammonia (W/DM) for at least 45 days and further with sulfuric acid for overnight to complete the combination treatments. The treated rice straw was then sun-dried, and the chemical composition of the treated rice straw was analyzed. Also, 32 of Korean native goats (average weight about 8.77㎏) were used for the feeding trial. The treatments included ureatreated, ammonia-treated, urea·H₂SO₄ combination-treated and ammonia·H₂SO₄ combination-treated rice straw. The results are as follows 1. Total weight gain and daily gain for 90 days of goats fed ammonia·H₂SO₄combination-treated rice straw (3.45㎏ and 38.28g, respectively) were slightly increased than those fed other treatments. 2. Feed conversion rate of ammonia·H₂SO₄ combination-treated rice straw was lowest (7.62) among the groups. 3. Feed cost per ㎏ body weight gain was lowest in urea-treated with following by urea·H₂SO₄ combination-treated, ammonia-treated and ammonia·H₂SO₄combination-treated rice straw.

        Fog Sensing over the Korean Peninsula Derived from Satellite Observation of MODIS and GOES-9

        Seasonal threshold values for fog detection over the ten airport areas in the Korean Peninsula have been derived, using the satellite-observed data of polar-orbit (Aqua/Terra MODIS) and geostationary (GOES-9) during two years. The values are obtained from reflectance at $0.65{\mu}m\;(R_{0.65})$ and the difference in brightness temperature between $3.7{\mu}m\;and\;11{\mu}m\;(T_{3.7-11})$. In order to examine the discrepancy between the threshold values of two kinds of satellites, the following parameters have been analyzed under the condition of daytime/nighttime and fog/clear-sky, utilizing their simultaneous observations over the Seoul Metropolitan Area. The parameters are the brightness temperature at $3.7{\mu}m\;(T_{3.7})$, the temperature at $11{\mu}m\;(T_{11}$, and $T_{3.7-11}$ for day and night. The $R_{0.65}$ data are additionally included in the daytime. The GOES-9 thresholds over the seven airport areas except the Cheongju airport have revealed the accuracy of 50% in the daytime and 70% in the nighttime, based on statistical verification for the independent samples as follows; FAR, POD and CSI. However, the accuracy decreases in the foggy cases with twilight, precipitation, short persistence, or the higher cloud above fog.

        Case Report : Baker`s Cyst Filled with Hematoma at the Lower Calf

        Baker’s cyst is a distension of the gastrocnemius-semimembranosus bursa of the knee, which communicates with the posterior portion of the joint capsule. Baker’s cyst is commonly located in the inferomedial or superficial layers of the knee joint and rarely extends laterally or proximally. Complications of Baker’s cysts are dissection, rupture, pseudothrombophlebitis, leg ischemia, nerve entrapment, and compartment syndrome. However, hematomas in the Baker’s cyst have not been reported in Korea. We report a rare case of hematoma in the Baker’s cyst with subfascial extension into the calf. The hematoma was demonstrated by magnetic resonance imaging and removed by mass excision.

        Right Atrial Anatomical Remodeling Affects Early Outcomes of Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation After Radiofrequency Ablation

        <P><B><I>Background:</I></B> The impact of the right atrial (RA) anatomical remodeling on outcomes of atrial fibrillation (AF) after radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is unclear. <B><I>Methods and Results:</I></B> Sixty-three patients (50 men, 57±10 years, 23 persistent AF [PeAF]) who underwent RFA for AF were enrolled. Both RA and left atrial (LA) volumes, measured with multidetector computed tomography, as well as echocardiographic parameters were compared between subjects with early (<3 months, n=13) or 1-year (n=19) recurrence after RFA and without recurrence. The RA volume index (RAVI) was larger (98±21 vs. 77±22ml/m<SUP>2</SUP>) and PeAF was more common (62% vs. 30%) in the early recurrence group (P<0.05 for all), whereas the LA volume index (LAVI) was similar between the 2 groups (78±15 vs. 72±19ml/m<SUP>2</SUP>, P=0.23). Notably, RAVI was the only independent predictor of early recurrence (for each 10ml/m<SUP>2</SUP> increase, OR: 1.650, 95%CI: 1.017-2.677, P=0.04). PeAF was the only independent predictor of 1-year recurrence after RFA (OR: 4.496, 95%CI: 1.110-18.211, P=0.04), whereas RAVI and LAVI were not. <B><I>Conclusions:</I></B> RA anatomical remodeling might affect the early recurrence of AF after RFA. However, the chronicity of AF, rather than RA and LA anatomical remodeling, is a determinant of 1-year recurrence of AF after RFA. (<I>Circ J</I> 2012; <B>76:</B> 860-867)</P>
