BOTANI: High-fidelity multiphysics model for boron chemistry in CRUD deposits

We develop a new high-fidelity multiphysics model to simulate boron chemistry in the porous Chalk River Unidentified Deposit (CRUD) deposits. Heat transfer, capillary flow, solute transport, and chemical reactions are fully coupled. The evaporation of coolant in the deposits is included in governing equations modified by the volume-averaged assumption of wick boiling. The axial offset anomaly (AOA) of the Seabrook nuclear power plant is simulated. The new model reasonably predicts the distributions of temperature, pressure, velocity, volumetric boiling heat density, and chemical concentrations. In the thicker CRUD regions, 60% of the total heat is removed by evaporative heat transfer, causing boron species accumulation. The new model successfully shows the quantitative effect of coolant evaporation on the local distributions of boron. The total amount of boron in the CRUD layer increases by a factor of 1.21 when an evaporation-driven increase of soluble and precipitated boron concentrations is reflected. In addition, the concentrations of B(OH)<sub>3</sub> and LiBO<sub>2</sub> are estimated according to various conditions such as different CRUD thickness and porosity. At the end of the cycle in the AOA case, the total mass of boron incorporated in CRUD deposits of a reference single fuel rod is estimated to be about 0.5 mg.

본 논문에서는 단안 카메라로부터 획득된 영상에 딥러닝 기반의 객체 인식 기술인 합성곱 신경망(Convolutional Neural Networks; CNN) 모델을 적용하여 보행자를 검출하고 검출된 보행자의 영상좌표를 지도좌표로 변환한 후 비례식으로부터 보행자의 신장을 유추하였다. 이를 위해 3.5m 고도의 지주물에 LDC(Lens Distortion Compensation)가 적용된 단안 카메라를 설치하고 보행자를 시준하도록 pitch와 yaw 각을 설정한 후 촬영을 수행하였다. 이후 합성곱 신경망 모델을 촬영된 보행자에 적용, bounding box를 활용하여 객체의 좌표를 실시간으로 추출하였고, bounding box의 index 정보를 이용하여 각 객체에 영상좌표를 부여하고 이를 지도좌표로 변환한 후 비례식을 이용해서 보행자의 신장을 산출하였으며 결과를 평가하였다. In this paper, the convolutional neural network (CNN) model, which is an object-recognition technology based on deep learning, was applied to images acquired from a monocular camera to detect pedestrians. The detected image coordinates of the pedestrians were converted to map coordinates, and the height of the pedestrians was inferred using a proportional equation. For this, a monocular camera equipped with lens distortion compensation was installed at an altitude of 3.5 m, and the pitch and yaw angles were set to collimate pedestrians. That is how we proceed image capturing. In the CNN model, the image coordinates of the object were acquired in real-time using the bounding box. After converting the image coordinates of the acquired object to map coordinates, the height of pedestrians could be calculated using a proportional equation.

유도탄 발사 초기 짧은 순간의 급선회를 위해선 고응답의 밸브 구동이 필요하게 되는데 이를 탄 전두부 날개구동과 연동시켜 구동하게 하는 전기식 구동기 개발을 목표로 하였다. 본 논문은 이 전기식 구동기의 설계, 해석, 제작, 시험 및 평가 순서로 정리함으로써 날개와 연동된 초기선회형 측추력기용 구동장치의 개발 과정을 소개하는 것을 내용으로 하고 있다. A valve"s high response for controlling thruster is essential for rapid turning during initial short moment after launching. The actuator for controlling the valve is simultaneously used in controlling canard of a guided missile. This paper explain development process for the electromechanical actuator interlocked with canard by arranging in following order, design, analysis, manufacture, test and evaluation.

The motion of Timoshenko beam can be described by two kinds of equations: One is a set of partial differential equations of the second order. the other is a single partial differential equation of the fourth order. For various beams such as cantilever beam, simply supported beam, hinged-fixed beam and fixed-fixed beam, we derived two kinds of frequency equations from the two kinds of equations of motion and calculated their natural frequencies and modes. The comparison shows that the two kinds of frequency equations yield the same natural frequencies and modes although they are different in appearances.

구동에 필요한 다수의 Virtual Machine을 물리적 서버 안에 Consolidation하게 구성하면, 물리적 서버의 개수를 최소화시켜 에너지 소모를 줄일 수 있다. 이 논문에서는, 하드웨어 요구량에 따른 Virtual Machine Consolidation과 시간 패턴에 따른 Virtual Machine Consolidation을 Energy Saving 관점으로 비교하고, 에너지 효율적인 Virtual Machine Consolidation 알고리즘을 제안한다.
