Development of Helical Groove Bush for Construction Machines
Maruyama Kazuo,Mawatari Osamu,Tokushima Hidekazu,Yanase Takeshi,Maki Kunio 한국분말야금학회 2006 한국분말야금학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2006 No.1
This study was conducted to improve the durability and decrease the friction of the sintered bushing used in the joints of construction equipment. Research was carried out to examine the effects of the groove pattern on the inner surface. The following results were obtained: (1) The bushing (EK Bush) with grooves on the inner diameter showed increased durability as compared to a non-grooved bushing. (2) The helical-grooved bushing showed the least amount of wear; it was 1/10 of the wear of the non-grooved bushing. (3) If the distance between grooves was decreased, then the coefficient of friction also decreased.
Brown Tumor of the Patella Caused by Primary Hyperparathyroidism: A Case Report
Tomoko Irie,Taro Mawatari,Satoshi Ikemura,Gen Matsui,Takahiro Iguchi,Hiroaki Mitsuyasu 대한영상의학회 2015 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.16 No.3
It has been reported that the common sites of brown tumors are the jaw, pelvis, ribs, femurs and clavicles. We report our experience in a case of brown tumor of the patella caused by primary hyperparathyroidism. An initial radiograph and CT showed an osteolytic lesion and MR images showed a mixed solid and multiloculated cystic tumor in the right patella. One month after the parathyroidectomy, rapid bone formation was observed on both radiographs and CT images.

Using a low viscosity synthetic traction oil and a low viscosity mineral oil with nearly equal viscosity grade of ISO VG 32, the effect of kind of oil on the fatigue life of bearing steel rollers was examined. A pair of rollers finished the contact surfaces to a mirror-like condition were driven under rolling with sliding conditions of s = -3.2% and a maximum Hertzian stress in the range of PH=2.8㎬~4.0㎬ was applied in point contact condition. As a result of experiments, the fatigue life with a mineral oil was longer than that with a traction oil under higher stress conditions above PH=3.4㎬. Based on the numerical calculation results of the thermal EHL which simulates the present experiment, the authors discuss the reason why such a difference in the fatigue life comes out.
Fabrication of a Breathing Assist Device for Saxophone Players with Breathing Problems
Tomonori Kato,Tadataka Ashikari,Chikara Matoba,Asashi Mawatari,Pitak Thumwarin 유공압건설기계학회 2021 드라이브·컨트롤 Vol.18 No.4
The aim of this study was to establish a breathing assist system for saxophone players with breathing problems. Although the saxophone is a popular wind instrument with a reed in its mouthpiece, it can be difficult for people with breathing problems to play this instrument, as it requires adequate breath support for deep and even long breaths. To solve this problem, the authors propose a breathing assist device, which functions like a pneumatic master–slave amplifier, for saxophone players with breathing problems. First, the proposed device is fabricated. Second, the effectiveness of the breathing assist device as a master–slave amplifier is confirmed through experiments. Third, the dynamic characteristics of the device are tested up to 10 Hz, and they demonstrate that the device responds well for up to approximately 5 Hz.
Graviton production with 2 jets at the LHC in large extra dimensions
Hagiwara, Kaoru,Konar, Partha,Li, Qiang,Mawatari, Kentarou,Zeppenfeld, Dieter IOP Publishing Ltd 2008 Journal of high energy physics Vol.2008 No.4
We study Kaluza-Klein (KK) graviton production in the large extra dimensions model via 2 jets plus missing transverse momentum signatures at the LHC. We make predictions for both the signal and the dominant <I>Zjj</I> and <I>Wjj</I> backgrounds, where we introduce missing <I>P</I><I>T</I>-dependent jet selection cuts that ensure the smallness of the 2-jet rate over the 1-jet rate. With the same jet selection cuts, the distributions of the two jets and their correlation with the missing transverse momentum provide additional evidence for the production of an invisible massive object.
Determining spin through quantum azimuthal-angle correlations

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Determining the spin of new particles is critical in identifying the true theory among various extensions of the Standard Model at the next generation of colliders. Quantum interference between different helicity amplitudes was shown to be effective when the final state is fully reconstructible. However, many interesting new physics processes allow only for partial reconstruction. In this Letter, we show how the interference effect can be unambiguously extracted even in processes that have two-fold ambiguity, by considering the correlation between two decay planes in e+e− collisions.</P>
Risk Factors of Neuropathic Pain after Total Hip Arthroplasty
Kazumasa Maeda,Motoki Sonohata,Masaru Kitajima,Shunsuke Kawano,Masaaki Mawatari 대한고관절학회 2018 Hip and Pelvis Vol.30 No.4
Purpose: Pain caused by osteoarthritis is primarily nociceptive pain; however, it is considered that a component of this pain is due to neuropathic pain (NP). We investigated the effects of total hip arthroplasty (THA) in patients with NP diagnosed by the PainDETECT questionnaire. Materials and Methods: One hundred sixty-three hips (161 patients) were evaluated. All patients were asked to complete the PainDETECT questionnaire based on their experience with NP, and clinical scores were evaluated using the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) Hip Score before and after THA. Results: The patients of 24.5% reported NP before THA; 5.5% reported NP 2 months after THA. Prior to THA, there was no significant correlation between the PainDETECT score and the radiographic severity; however, there was a significant correlation between the PainDETECT score and JOA score. NP at 2 months after THA was not significantly correlated with pain scores at 1 week after THA; however, a significant correlation was observed between the preoperative pain score and NP at 2 months after THA. Conclusion: THA was useful for relieving nociceptive pain and for relieving NP in patients with hip osteoarthritis. Preoperative pain was a risk factor for NP after THA. Controlling preoperative pain may be effective for reducing postoperative NP.
Control of an Artificial-Hip-Joint Simulator to Evaluate Dislocation
Kazuo Kiguchi,Akira Yamashita,Makoto Sasaki,Masaru Ueno,Tsuneyuki Kobayashi,Masaaki Mawatari,Takao Hotokebuchi 제어로봇시스템학회 2008 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2008 No.10
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is performed to replace all or part of a human hip joint with an artificial joint for patients who have rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis of the hip joint. Although THA might result in postoperative complications of dislocation, wear and/or loose, their mechanisms have not been analyzed enough. We have developed an artificial-hip-joint simulator that can generate the same joint posture and joint contact force as those in daily life motion in order to evaluate the performance of the artificial-hip-joint. Dislocation of the artificial-hip-joint during daily living activities was generated by the simulator in order to analyze its mechanism.
