      • A Novel Security Approach for Data Flow and Data Pattern Analysis to Mitigate DDOS Attacks in VANETs

        The VANET security is an important issue with the rise of the automatically driven vehicle based technologies. The automatically driven vehicle based clusters are programmed for each vehicle to run individually by coordinating with all of the other nodes in the VANET cluster. The proposed model has been designed to detect and mitigate the DoS and DDoS attacks in the VANET clusters to avoid any of the misbehavior or mis-happening in the form of VANET node failure, collision or in any other form. The DDoS attack prevention algorithm works as the real time attack detection and overhead data filtering algorithm in order to protect against the DoS and DDoS attacks. The proposed model result has been obtained on the basis of network load, throughput, packet delivery ratio, etc. The experimental results have proved the efficiency of the proposed model in comparison with the existing models.

        Magnetoelectric Coupling in CuO Nanoparticles for Spintronics Applications

        Multiferroic copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles have been synthesized by colloidal synthesis method. The morphological,structural, magnetic, dielectric and magnetodielectric property has been investigated. The structural study reveals themonoclinic structure of CuO nanoparticles. Transmission electron microscopy images disclose that the size of the CuOnanoparticles is 18 nm and the synthesized nanoparticles are uniform in size and dispersion. Magnetic study tells the weakferromagnetic character of CuO nanoparticles with coercivity and retentivity value 206 Oe and 0.060 emu/g respectively. Dielectric study confirms that the dielectric constant of CuO nanoparticles is around 1091 at low frequency. The magnetoelectriccoupling in the synthesized CuO nanoparticles has been calculated by measuring magnetodielectric coupling coefficient.

        DTMF Based Irrigation Water Pump Control System

        As a result of advancement in technology it became easy for human beings to ease their work and at the same time complete the workwith less human force, less time and with better results. In this project we look forward to telephonic signaling approach using Dual tone multi-frequency technique in controlling the various electrical loads such as irrigation water pumps situated in inaccessible areas. The present work is based on the principle of Dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signal received from any mobile phone to switch on-off the desired electrical loads such as in our farms, in factories, tube wells, irrigation water pumps etc. In our agricultural fields the tube wells are spread away from one another and thus operating them becomes very hectic as the person has to run from one place to another to operate the loads. Similar thing happens in our households also. Keeping this thing in mind a system has been designed so that it can ease the farmer as well as save time using the DTMF technology to control the loads remotely.

        Dielectric Spectroscopic Studies of Boron Subphthalocyanine Chloride Thin Films

        Boron subphthalocyanine chloride (Cl-BsubPc) thin film have been deposited by thermal evaporation technique and studied for structural and dielectric properties. AFM study indicates the formation of uniform and cracks free films. To study the dielectric properties as function of both frequency and voltage, Al/Cl-BsubPc/Al heterostructure has been fabricated. The impedance-frequency study indicates the formation of space charge region in lower frequency range. The conduction mechanism in Cl-BSubPc film, under applied ac field, found to be electronic hopping. The mobility and charge carrier concentration of Cl-BsubPc films have also been measured using capacitance techniques.

        Study of Junction Charge Transport Properties of Boron Subphthalocyanine Chloride Thin Film

        The charge carrier transport properties and conduction mechanism ofboron subphthalocyanine chloride (Cl-BsubPc) thin film basedjunction was analyzed by using current-voltage (I-V) characteristicsand dielectric spectroscopy technique. I-V characteristic of ITO/Cl-BsubPc/Al junction confirmes the domination of space charge limitedconduction (SCLC) in the high voltage region (7 - 9 V). The ACconductivity study indicates the presence of frequency inducedhopping conduction mechanism in Cl-BsubPc thin film with hoppingrelaxation time of 16.6 - 4.1 ms. The temperature dependence of ACconductivity suggests that conduction in the films dominated byhopping of carriers between the localized states at low temperatureand movements of thermally excited carriers from energy levelswithin the band gap at higher temperature. The activation energy ofthe charge carriers responsible for conduction was found to liebetween 0.35 - 0.40 eV.

        Conversion of 60-, 30-, 10-, and 5-Minute Rain Rates to 1-Minute Rates in Tropical Rain Rate Measurement

        In this study, several methods to convert rain rate data for various time intervals to one-minute rates are compared. High-resolution tipping bucket precipitation records for seven locations in a tropical region are analyzed and compared using these conversion models. The Segal, Chebil, and Burgueno methods give the smallest average errors below 10% at different integration times.

      • Forgery Detection Using Noise Estimation and HOG Feature Extraction

        Forgery detection techniques are required to verify the authenticity of the digital images. The additional noise is the most general way to hide the traces of the tampering done to the image. Original images which do not undergo any alterations are supposed to have a consistency in noise variation. If the image is forged, the noise no longer remains consistent throughout the image. In this paper, a method is proposed to detect the forgery based upon noise estimation and hog feature extraction. The image is first converted to YIQ colorspace, and then the block segmentation is performed on Y component of the YIQ image. Noise is estimated using PCA and hog features are extracted from each block of the image. An unsupervised clustering method is used to cluster the blocks of the image. The experimental results show that the proposed technique detects forged images more effectively as compared to previous method based only on noise estimation.

        Impact of higher order dispersion on Photonically assisted optical millimeter-wave generated using dual parallel electro-optic modulators

        In this work, Author investigated the impact of higher order fiber dispersion terms upto third order (3OD) on optical mm-wave generated using two parallel Mach Zehnder Modulators (MZMs). Individual and combined effect of the second order- (2OD) and third order-(3OD) is studied theoretically and experimentally. Expression of fiber dispersion for proposed model is derived using the method of expansion of Bessel function & Taylor series theory. Effect of RF-driven voltage applied to MZM is discussed and analyzed for Optical Sideband Suppression Ratio (OSSR) and Radio Frequency Spurious Suppression Ratio (RFSSR). The Q-factor, Bit Error Rate (BER) and Eye pattern are investigated for ITU's G.655 fiber. Experimental and simulation analysis verified the theoretical analysis.

        Robustness Analysis of LFC for Multi Area Power System integrated with SMES–TCPS by Artificial Intelligent Technique

        Load frequency control (LFC) plays an essential role in a power system (PS) to sustain the grid frequency for the period of sudden load demand variations. Hence, this manuscript deals with the execution of adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) approach for LFC of three-area unequal thermal power system. The ANFIS controller proposed in the manuscript combines the advantages of Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) as well as rapid response and flexible nature of artificial neural network. To improve the LFC performance, offered controller is simulated with superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) units and Thyristor controlled phase shifter (TCPS) individually and in combination. The performance of proposed ANFIS controller is superior and robust compared to existing control schemes and improved performance is observed particularly in the presence of SMES-TCPS combination. The realization of SMES & TCPS combination curtail frequency and tie power variation quickly after an unexpected load disturbance. To validate the usefulness of the proposed controller, integral time weighted absolute error (ITAE) and integral square error (ISE) performance error indices are used. Robustness of offered controller is demonstrated against wide variation in the system parameters

      • Fusion of PACE Regression and Decision Tree for Comment Volume Prediction

        The analysis of social networking sites is a vast area of research as there are tremendous measures of records showing up in online networking. Predicting the comment patterns of users on these sites is a complex decision making process. This paper proposes a hybrid model of linear regression (PACE regression) and non linear regression (REP Tree) that predicts the likelihood of the comment volume, which a post may receive by analyzing the various features of the corresponding page, post and previous records of comment patterns of users. To mechanize the procedure, a model is built comprising of the crawler, data processor and information revelation module. The new hybridized model has improved the time and space complexity along with Accuracy by building a right sized tree using only significant features with low misclassification rate.
